Beef Kafta Kabab Platter

Update: Removing a star for not having water as a drink option. You must purchase a small plastic bottle of water for $1.

I ordered the hummus, baba ghanoush, and chicken schwarma sandwich. Super easy to find, easy parking. Spacious place to eat. Clean, friendly staff. The hummus was amazing. So smooth and I loved the fresh lemon juice on top. The baba ghanoush was wonderful. So tastey! Everything had wonderful flavor. My sandwich was great! Loved the crunch of the pickles and everything inside. They provided ample bread for our two appetizers. I'll definitely be back!

First time visiting the restaurant it was very peaceful and the staff were kind. Food was out within 10 minutes of ordering at lunch on a Sunday. The food was delicious and the flavor was fantastic.

Excellent food. Excellent service. As a Palestinian, the food definitely tastes authentic from the middle eastern. The hummus, baba ghanoush, fool, and falafel were all excellent. The kabobs were also very fresh and incredibly tasty. The staff are very welcoming and the service is quick. Best middle eastern food in the area.

It was by far one of best foods I had flavor portion and price I'm craving there food had to drive from Vestavia just to get lunch

Shaami should be talked about more! It is a hidden gem in Pelham. The lamb fell off the bone and the chicken was very flavorful. The portion sizes were generous and the sides were flavorful. We will definitely come back!

Great food, great people, great prices. Aziz was very helpful and nice. The best platter in my opinion is the mix shawarma platter.

My favorite appetizers are the Chicken 65 and the Vegetarian Samosas. The Chicken 65 consists of bite-sized pieces of chicken breast that are fried and then tossed in a spicy sauce. It's served with chopped red onion and a cilantro garnish, making it perfect for sharing at the table. The Vegetarian Samosas are deep-fried pastries filled with green peas, potatoes, and Indian spices, with a noticeable curry flavor. They're served with a brown, tamarind-based dipping sauce that pairs perfectly with the filling. One entrée we love sharing is the dosa. A dosa is a lightly fried crepe, and there are about a dozen variations, each with different fillings and spice combinations. The dosas are served with several sides for dipping or eating with pieces of the crepe. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka Kebab is another favorite. The chicken is marinated, baked in a clay oven, and brought out steaming hot on a sizzling platter. In addition to the dishes mentioned, Bawarchi offers many other classic Indian favorites. One word of warning: if you order spicy, they mean it--the heat level can definitely light you up!

Upon arriving, I was pleasantly greeted by a gentleman at the counter. I placed my order, which was the chicken kabob entree, meat pie and water, and took a seat. I had my pick since I was the only customer at that time. The vibe was quaint and quiet, with music playing from their culture. Shortly after I sat down, the meat pie was brought out along with something like a toasted naan I think. The meat pie was really, really good. The irony is that I ordered it after reading another Yelper stating how good it was. I don't even know what type of meat it was. Lol! My entree came out looking just like the photos I had seen online. The tomato, cucumber and onion salad was very flavorful and fresh and I almost want to try my hand at making it at home....its just that good. The chicken was moist, tender and marinated well. Everything was freshly prepared and hot when I received it and I could tell it was made with love. I had enough food to take half to work for lunch tomorrow. My total was around $27.00 and it was worth every penny. I'm on a quest to try out all of the Mediterranean and Persian restaurants in the area. Taboon Noon o Kabab is right up there as one of the best. Try them out...your taste buds will thank you. Happy eating!

The lady taking orders asked us how everything was and it was delicious and she was so proud to hear that and say that they make everything fresh. It was INCREDIBLE! It's a fermented rice batter pancake (almost a crispy crepe texture) surrounding a potato filling with an array of sauces on the side. All of the dipping sauces were incredible. Absolute must try. I believe it can be hard to find traditional southern Indian cuisine, but I'll be back. We ordered some tandoori chicken, which was so moist and delicious. I had an order of the dal sag, which was great, too. We left with plenty of food to take home for leftovers. We also had the onion stuffed kafta, which was indulgent and delicious. The staff was so kind to even treat us to a gulab jamun at the end. My favorite :). I'll be back here again for sure. Absolutely worth the trip out to Hoover.

The sauce was luscious and velvety, even if it showed up tonight with a mild personality. I kept waiting for the heat to clock in for its shift, but apparently it had PTO approved. Still delicious though. The vegetable samosas were crispy on the outside with that delicate, comforting filling inside. No notes. Just solid. And the garlic naan? Dangerous. I told myself "just one more bite" at least seven times. It's garlicky, soft, and basically a carb trap I willingly fall into every visit. Now... the service. Let's just say if attentiveness were a spice, it was left in the kitchen. Our waitress vanished for extended periods like she was filming a documentary about the back of the restaurant. No check-in, no "how is everything," no interest in whether we were thrilled or quietly combusting. It felt less like dining and more like self-guided Indian cuisine. Food: still outstanding. Service: spiritually elsewhere. Four stars because the kitchen deserves it. The front of house might need a little masala of its own.

The Ranch House has been around for many years, and the parking lot always seems to be full. I had heard it was excellent for breakfast, but I was curious about what other options they offered. The restaurant has changed ownership several times over the years, yet it has maintained a loyal following. My friends and I stopped in for lunch on Monday, and I was impressed by how large the menu is. The sweet spot here is the classic meat-and-vegetable combinations. The term "meat and three" is part of the Southern vocabulary -- especially in Alabama -- and The Ranch House does it well. The meat and vegetable selections rotate daily, and there's enough variety that you should easily find something you'll enjoy. The restaurant also includes "Markarios" in its name, and you'll notice Mediterranean influences sprinkled throughout the menu. For lunch, I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap along with a Markarios side salad. The chicken was nicely seasoned and full of flavor, and the salad was fresh and excellent. Overall, a solid local spot with something for everyone.

This is the second time this has happened to us there - the waitress pointed to a place on the menu that says an up charge for eggs. Well I guess they can charge whatever according to that. We'll also had to constantly flag people down to get service. A totally different atmosphere than years past
