Wow, what a great experience. We stumbled upon this place by accident, walking along the beach. We heard some beautiful violin music, decided to go explore, and what we found was the best food and party in Tulum. The violin music quickly became more and more energized, and then the party erupted. The food and service were excellent, and the DJ was even better. People dancing on the tables and having a great time. I will make this a part of my Tulum itinerary every time I go back in so should you. read more

I wish we made it to the beach part. By the time we got to Tulum it was too late to go do we got ready to go to the dinner part. I don't want to talk too negatively about this place because the service and drinks were on point. My only issue was the venue itself. There were 2 tiny pools 10ft by 10ft or there about and there was over 100 people there drinking there asses off. Which means a cesspool of pee. I could have overlooked that but they had no netting to control the algae in the ocean which made wading in the ocean a disgusting experience. With all the money they spent on advertising billboards they should have invested in an algae net. So basically we paid a cover to bake in the sun with no water to cool you off. No thanks. read more

If you are looking to spend a little, enjoy great scenery and music this is the place to go. It's definitely a trending hot spot when visiting Tulum. We opted for the beach side and not the restaurant. Best decision. I think it was $50 per adult for a the lounge chair, a credit to purchase anything from the menu and we were able to enjoy the beach. We went with children ages 2-11 and they enjoyed their time there as well. You also have the option of purchasing a cabana and other seating options for the beach front. I think unless you are doing dinner there, doing the beach front package deals are best. read more

Make sure you get a reservation prior. If your group is small definitely sit in the restaurant. If you want to splurge it is 100+ per person but you get 70$ towards your tab on a Saturday. If you are celebrating a birthday come Here! They specifically wait for birthday songs and being your bottle out at the same time of others. Food great very high quality and well seasoned. My partner ordered Spaghetti de Mariscos and had no complaints just compliments. She said it was very filling and sh only ate half. She also tried the coconut drink. It came on an actual coconut with a smoky taste. It would be very good with a grilled meal. The server said you can add any amount of shots you want so make it as strong as you like! They gave out complimentary Popsicles and sparklers on a Saturday afternoon/ evening. Servers were so fast fun and entertaining. DJ is great. Mix of hip hop reggaetón and good vibes music. We had a reservation for seven people and called in advance to make sure that there was no minimum. We get yhere and they tell us it is going to be $1500USD minimum to eat there and the hostess was the same girl we talked to on the phone. Her name Andrea. She was an ASS. Also u can go anywhere and get a $5USD shot anywhere in mexico but here? No. Its gunna be $20USD. And we are coming from LA where we are very accustomed to high prices for shots. We would have been fine paying if they were not tricksters about it. Long story short it is very whatever and not worth the stress of that b* hostess. We love the location in Cancun so we thought we would have a good experience here. This is a beautiful location but the staff were rude. Before I even touched my salad I knew I would not like it and I asked for them to change it and they refused. My waiter told me "the descriptions are very well written" basically I should have know what I was getting. I did not know the "salad" I ordered did not have any actual salad in it and was 80% diced tomatoes. Eventually the manager added some lettuce to it but they were still not very accommodating Also they told me my credit card did not go through. I had been having problems with it since I was traveling so my girlfriends card was charged. I just looked and saw my card did actually go through so we were double charged for this meal. Trying to see about disputing the charge now. read more

We went to Taboo last year and loved it so much that it was the first day club we booked when we went back this year. It is an incredible beach club but the staff was not prepared for such an influx of people the week around New Years which was a little bit frustrating and disappointing. Taboo is quite an experience! I came here for dinner for a bachelorette party. As soon as we walked in we were impressed by how gorgeous this place is! With the loud upbeat music, beautiful decor, wind blowing by the beach, sparklers everywhere, this place feels like sensory overload. We had reservations and were seated right away. All around us people seemed to be having a great time. Many birthday parties, bachelorette parties, etc around us. You'll even find many people dancing on top of chairs and tables. Staff periodically brings out sparklers to celebrate various occasions. For dinner they first brought out a complimentary appetizer with pita bread, cheese, olives, peppers, etc, as well as tomato soup (I think?) which were both delicious! The items we ordered however were just ok. We tried the rigatoni alla vodka (350 pesos), spicy feta cheese (305 pesos), and Greek meatballs (290 pesos). We shared these among 3 of us which was more than enough food even though 2 of these items are listed as appetizers. The pasta was flavorful and delicious but it was cold (which I guess is hard to control in an outdoor setting). The meatballs were just ok but very filling. I did not like the spicy feta and we didn't finish it. Just seemed too dry and I wasn't a fan of the flavors. I also tried a bite of the camembert Envoltini which was cheese wrapped in flaky phyllo sheets with a hint of sweetness. I really liked it but would highly recommend sharing. Furthermore as is the case in many Tulum restaurants, they charge 140 pesos for each bottle of water. For some reason they brought 6 bottles of water for a group of 7 of us which ended up costing us $40 (US dollars) for water alone. In addition service is unusually slow here...it took forever for the food to come out, for them to bring out the check, etc. I did really appreciate the enthusiasm of the staff though. They were all incredibly nice and upbeat and really added to the energy of Taboo. I also loved how they brought out sparklers for our bachelorette. In addition, they had a violin player do performances throughout the night and he was SO INCREDIBLY TALENTED!! This was probably the highlight of the night. Overall Taboo is a really fun place for dinner. It's worth experiencing once but I wouldn't come back over and over again because it really is such a sensory overload and begins to feel like some form of a psychedelic experience after a while lol. Where to begin- We had a reservation for four at 11:15 pm Dec 31st 2021 . We knew it would be a busy night hence we showed up at 8 to confirm our reservation in person. We were told by the hostess to show up exactly at 11:15pm. And that's exactly what we did, upon arrival at 11 :15 pm , it was chaotic and mismanaged front house. Upon several attempts we finally got the attention of a hostess who told us they didn't have a table for us, Come to find out they sold our table to a higher bidder. How I know this? Right in front of us were a group among 6-7 other large groups, whom we overheard making a deal / saw passing money to the hostess under the table. These hostesses were making their own salary on top of getting paid to do their job properly. Maybe the management knows of this and is in on it or these hostesses are fully taking advantage of the situation and ruining the reputation of Grupo RosaNegra® and Eduardo Beaven. We didn't want to start our new year with being negative to the people working there hard to ruin the face of such a beautiful restaurant so we decided to go somewhere else (11:45pm) so that we can peacefully ring in the New Year. Grupo RosaNegra® granted your restaurants are popular and successful and you are making your goals of hitting those numbers each year, but at the same time you are losing the goal of customer satisfaction and experience by letting these hostesses (hustlers and I mean in a negative way) be the face of your company. read more

The place looks gorgeous! Everyone asked me where I was as soon as I posted the first picture. WARNING! You will wait forever for your food and drinks. We ordered the crab ( amazing) as an app, they brought a sort of charcuterie board complimentary as well. We finished that crab and waited 15 min for our 5 drinks (of course always feels like an eternity while waiting at a table). Went down to the beach to take in the sights, get a couple of pictures in, and ran back thinking the food was getting cold at the table... it was not. We sat down and waited another 30 min for the food.. the server came up to us three times saying it shouldn't be long and she even got frustrated with the manager. Rightly so, it's not her fault. Once the food came out well over 1hr 1/2 after being ordered, one of the dishes was wrong but they corrected it on the spot.. but then came out raw (dark blue) when ordered medium. Just got back from dinner with my girl and the overall experience was phenomenal! My only reason it wasn't a five star experience is due to some sketchy-looking guys by the bathroom who are offering people cocaine. I believe an establishment like this needs to do something about this and get rid of those guys unless the restaurant is in on it.... Also, cabs right in front of this place are a complete rip off...walk down and get something more affordable. $40 bucks for a 1.5 mile trip? Had a wonderful night at Taboo tulum! This restaurant came highly recommended by the concierge at our hotel. The service was incredible and we were immediately greeted by Miguel, who took excellent care of us. The pita bread, dip, and stuffed peppers were insanely delicious and all of the ingredients were noticeably fresh. The truffle beef carpaccio was delightful and melted in our mouths. We shared the paella as an entree (two of us) and it is NOT for the faint of heart! This dish is probably best served for 4-5 people but we decided to go all out. For dessert we had the crema Catalan which was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Similar to a creme brûlée but lighter. To top it off there was a violin duet playing as we finished our meal. This was my favorite restaurant I visited while in Tulum! The ambience is amazinggg, very open layout. I went with a party of 8 and even though our table wasn't immediately available when we arrived, we were greeted with complimentary appetizers and very attentive service. The dj was amazing and played a wide variety of music throughout the night. I ordered the lobster with a pasta with red sauce. The lobster was HUGE and the pasta was amazing. Saw my card swiped 3 times and got charged for 5 drinks instead of 2. They don't give receipt openly, so you will not know until transaction hits your bank statements days later.
