Bake Salmon sub the green beans, zucchini and squash

We stopped in for lunch to celebrate a friend's retirement. We walked into the lobby and there was a guy wearing a tee shirt and jeans. We thought he was waiting on a table but he was our hostess. He was very nice but I would except a professional dress code . The food is always great here. The focaccia bread it's so good and complementary. Three of the four in our party ordered the meat lasagna. It had great favor and plenty of meat but was lukewarm. We had ordered extra sauce which was hot so that helped. We should have mentioned it to our server, our bad. The last two times we were in town and stopped in I will say I wish they would play Italian (Since it is an Italian Restaurant) or relaxing music instead of rap. Did I mention the food and service were good

This place exceeded my expectations! It was a very good chicken fettuccine Alfredo pasta that I got, the chicken was a little dry, and I actually couldn't finish all of it due to that. The sauce, portion sizes, the noodles, the bread were pretty good. Very friendly staff and Would recommend this place, I will come back.

No clue what this is but it's definitely NOT a tiramisu. Go to Mario's or hell even Olive Garden has a better tiramisu than what these people came up with. Didn't even take a single bite. Salmon with baked potatoes were good though but was absolutely ruined by whatever THIS is, very tempted to DoorDash them a real tiramisu so they can see what it is and learn to make one.

My favorite Italian in Hattiesburg. Love the potatos and garlic green beans! Always fresh and the bread is to die for!!

Great atmosphere and wasn't crowed during lunch. Moderately priced but sizable portion.

The fried calamari was on point. Our entrees came fairly quickly, lobster ravioli and Mario's pizza. In true Italian culture, both dishes was plenty with leftovers to take home. Carmen offered syrawberry cheesecake as a birthday gift. The restaurant is quiet enough to have a conversation and enjoy your meal without distracting noise.

I ordered the lobster ravioli, which sounded like a life decision I'd brag about later. What arrived was 4 ravioli and 4 small shrimp -- which, in most cultures, is called an appetizer but I might just need to go on a diet. Flavor-wise it was... politely stated..Not bad, just kind of bland. Also the shrimp still had the tails on, so dinner became a part-time job. Nothing says "fine dining" like performing minor seafood surgery in pink sauce while your pasta cools. The wine list was the real plot twist. No rosé. No Sauvignon Blanc. I have never -- and I mean never -- gone to an Italian restaurant and ordered beer out of necessity. Yet here we are. It just didn't feel right. Now, credit where it's due: the garlic bread was actually really good (though I'm pretty sure it didn't grow up in that kitchen), and the limoncello cake -- confirmed not house-made -- was honestly the star of the meal. Service was great, atmosphere was pleasant, and I didn't have a bad time... Three stars: good evening, questionable portion sizing, and a restaurant that accidentally convinced me to drink beer at an Italian restaurant.

I'm leaving this review for awareness…read more Some months ago my mother had an exchange with one of the bartenders (Matt) here that ended with him named calling her a "bitch." Later we were told by an employee that after reviewing footage it "looked like she was being aggressive." As a black woman, hearing that kind of language used to describe my mother raised concerns for me. It's what made me stop by to see the owner. When I tried to discuss it with the owner Ashley, her response to me saying "as a black woman..." was to tell me "don't pull the race card." An employee named Jessica jumped in and said the owner couldn't be prejudiced because she's engaged to a black man (who I found out later is Jessica's son), which to me sounded like "I can't be racist, I have black friends!" completely missing the point. What bothered me most was how unprofessional the entire interaction became. I came in hoping to have a private conversation with the owner, but two employees (Jessica and brother who also works there) began inserting themselves into the discussion. At one point the owner Ashley even put her finger in my face and said "I'm not talking to you right now" while explaining things to my boyfriend instead. THE OWNER. When I asked how the bartender (Matt) calling a customer a "bitch" was handled, I was told it was dealt with "internally," but they refused to explain what that meant. The owner also claimed they have a "zero tolerance policy" for employees and customers cursing at each other, yet the bartender still works there. A write-up and a "don't do it again" isn't zero tolerance. At one point Jessica started to call the police on me during the conversation. For what?? The food might be fine, but professionalism and accountability matter. If the owner of a business handles concerns this way and refuses transparency about employee conduct, that says a lot about the culture of the place. Do with that information what you will before spending your money here. Ashley you suck. Jessica you suck. Edit: Ashley (the owner) has now responded to this review. She is upset that I had a bad experience with her. I initially went up there to see why she felt the need to tell her employee that a black women looked aggressive on camera. That's dangerous and she wouldn't understand because she is not black. I asked to speak with her privately and that didn't happen, she could've took me in her office, like a professional business owner should have done. It escalated because she had 2 employees getting involved when the conversation should have just been between me and her. The situation was not handled "months ago" because my mother never recieved an apology and Matt still works there so her "zero tolerance policy" doesn't exist. She keeps saying "months ago" because she wants us to let it go but I won't. Her response under my review literally means nothing because nothing about how her and her employees handled it was professional. Nor was it to deescalate. If anything, they made the situation worse. In her response below it seems like she's now trying to put on face and now act professional because she's been called out. So, I still believe you shouldn't give Ashley or her business your money because she is unprofessional and lacks accountability.

On the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Catfish Plaquemine, and it was phenomenal. Perfectly prepared catfish with a sauce that really brought the dish together. The staff is attentive without hovering, professional without feeling scripted, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. The ambience hits that sweet spot -- energetic but still comfortable, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy your meal. Now let's talk about the real headline act: the cheese grits. Absolutely out of this world. Creamy, rich, perfectly seasoned and the pepper Jack cheese added a wonderful touch-- they weren't a side dish, they were the star of the show. If they sold those by the gallon, I'd consider questionable life decisions. I ordered the shrimp po'boy. The shrimp themselves? Fantastic. Fresh, fried just right, and piled generously. The toppings and that homemade remoulade (or whatever magic sauce they're whipping up back there) were bright and flavorful. The only hiccup: the bread. The ends were toasted with the intensity of a NASA heat shield. I needed jaw strength training to get through the first few bites. Once you navigated past that crunchy barricade though, it was smooth sailing. I finished with the deep dish apple pie à la mode. I'm not sure if it was made in-house, outsourced, or assembled by a dessert engineer in a lab somewhere -- but I don't really care. It worked. Warm apples, flaky crust, walnuts, brown sugar, and cold ice cream melting into the whole situation... excellent flavor combo. Bonus points for a strong bourbon selection at prices that don't require a small loan application. That alone will get me back in the door. Four stars because of the bread battle, but I'd absolutely come back -- especially for those grits and a good pour of bourbon.
