Red Beans and Rice with Chicken
Bill M.

I had a pretty good experience with Patio 44. We had a large reservation that ended up being significantly smaller than anticipated. The restaurant pivoted easily and we had a nice Saturday brunch. I tried fried green tomatoes, beignets, and the red beans with chicken. I really wanted to try the field peas but didn't have the appetite for that extra order. The patio is expansive and there is a little water feature in the center. 5 stars for the yummy food and nice atmosphere. Minus 1 because the service was slow.

Food took well over a hour to get. Cute but not worth the time.

Took well over a hour to get food. Brussels spouts were lukewarm. Pot roast had no flavor and the gravy served with it had no taste. Fries were from a bag but hot and crispy. I was expecting more since it was such a long wait. Nothing was awful, but nothing noteworthy. Staff friendly, cute place nice patio. Was not busy during lunch and still took over an hour. Not sure this would be on my list to return.

great atmosphere sitting on the patio. Jeff came around to check on our table. I'm assuming he was a manager, regardless, i always appreciate this gesture. at the time we had been promptly greeted by Chelsea. service went a little downhill from there. needing drink refills and condiments and having to ask typically sets a bad tone of service for me. we ordered the pea appraiser, roast beef sandwich and shrimp tacos. each dish was good. nothing was great. the food experience along with the mediocre service won't have me returning any time soon. i was really hoping for a better experience this time when my lunch dates selected the spot. sadly, nothing today changed my original opinion.

BLACK ANGUS "DINO" RIB $48.60 Slow cooked beef rib topped with housemade barbeque sauce, crispy onions, served with mashed red potatoes

Nice ambiance. Would definitely get the sticky chicken next time I come. The black angus dino ribs are absolutely huge but was too fatty and could be seasoned more. Great service

The onion rings and fried green tomatoes as appetizers were quite tasty as was the chicken salad sandwich. Great service (Shelby was fantastic) and the al fresco dining rounded out a great experience.

Chloe is an excellent server! She was friendly, helpful and super personable. She even mixed honey and mustard together for my 7-year-old to eat his chicken fingers. The crab fondue app was amazing! The bread that came with it was warm, soft, and delish!! I had a watermelon marg which is a "summer cocktail" and loved it! My husband had the redfish and gouda grits!! Beautiful and he loved it! I ordered the crawfish nachos and "OMG!!!!" Those are HUGE!! So tasty!! The tortilla chips are the BEST chips I've ever had. I cannot rave enough about this place!! The only thing I would've changed is sitting outside next time. The interior is nice, but the patio is gorgeous! Patio is the way to go!

Patio 44 offers a wide variety of tasty meals and drinks, it had a chill yet sophisticated ambiance, and the service was solid Pulling up to the restaurant, this place looked almost like a fancy steak house, which honestly was a refreshing break from the sports bar/burger joint vibes of so many other food spots in the area. We sat in the front covered patio area which was nicely lit and had more of a courtyard patio vibe The menu has a lot of enticing options. The cocktails were well made. Our server was helpful, and the service was fairly quick. The pricing is a little higher than other restaurants in the area, but it's worth it if you want a nice date night or family outing Some tips: If you have kids, ask for a coloring menu with crayons to keep them occupied while you enjoy a cocktail or some appetizers. The jambalaya pasta is worth a try. A little salty, but tasty. The Candied Pecan Chicken has a delicious glaze, but it makes the entire savory dish almost a dessert, it's so sweet Cheers!!

Bayou Crawfish Nachos

Patio 44 never disappoints - from the perfect margarita, the tantalizing appetizer teasing what's to come, to the entre', and if you're not too full, there is always a delightful new dessert to try. The Bayou Crawfish Nachos are quite simply a flavor bomb! Crispy chips loaded with fresh pico, a rich crawfish cream sauce, and crunchy fried jalapeños. Every bite is spicy, creamy, and totally addictive. A must-try if you love bold Cajun comfort food!

I loved my experience. Great great great outdoor space. Beautiful live music performance, and plenty of room for a bigger crowd. We sat outside and enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco and we were helped by the lovely DJ who recommended the best of the best flavor combinations. He was very attentive but not too overbearing. Food was flavorful and well presented. Crawfish pasta, grits and blackened cat fish, and chicken & waffles. Prices were decent because you have life music with an awesome atmosphere and tasty food= decent price. You get what you pay for and I think it is worth it every time. Also they were able to email me the receipt a week after I had dined there. Thank you Ben

I had a great sandwich and the onion rings were just right. The onion rings were made in house and made my someone who knew how to do it.

We pulled up and noticed that the GOS location was pointing to a hotel building. There was no signage from the road or exterior of the hotel, but we went inside and found this restaurant is more of a lounge restaurant within the hotel The menu offers a variety of "tapas," and the portions are large enough that everyone in a small party should be able to try the dish. The cocktails were well made, and they came out in a timely manner Our server was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Overall, the service was good. We did try to slightly modify a couple of the dishes, and one couldn't be modified, and another was just disregarded, but everything tasted good This isn't the most inexpensive spot for happy hour, but it is a nice atmosphere Some tips: Definitely go the tapas route so you can try a variety of dishes. The firecracker shrimp was one of my favorites Cheers!

Since my previous review a LOT has changed at Chesterfield's! This was my second visit to their new…read morelocation so it had been decades since my last visit and this second visit was many years after I last ate here in 2019. I have to say I still prefer their old location better which is largely more for nostalgia's sake. The service was less than I had come to expect from the old location so that could certainly use some improvement and it seemed to have gotten even worse for my second visit to the new spot. The food has declined from my past first visit to this new location sadly. The open faced prime rib sandwich served with a side of au jus was my go to staple here for many years but they no longer have that on the menu sadly. The only other entrée I ever ordered here was one of the Gulf fish specials which they still had some of those at least but not as good a choice as they used to have. For my second visit the menu was so uninspiring to me I just got a cheeseburger and it was fortunately a decently good cheeseburger. For Hattiesburg this is probably still one of the better places to eat. They have continued doing a nice tray of their dessert selections setting out on display to really try and tempt your soul with lust for their sweet treats. I really think they need to up their game again and go back to what they used to be! Overall if you're in the area this is probably a good choice for the food or their bar which will be better than any of the many nearby chains like Applebee's but not quite as good as Crescent City Grill.
