I should have been told it was going to be almost as much as the BURRITO for half of a smashed avocado with a little onion. Not acceptable. It was bad enough that their menu says guacamole is included in some things but when they serve it, it's not...and they just shrug. (These pix are from last time, when that happened.) So this time, I ordered a SMALL SIDE and this is what happened. I questioned the bill, and was told it was correct with no shame. Unbelievable. I am truly angry. I ordered the taco dinner which came with a chorizo, pastor, and carne asada taco all with cilantro and onion along with beans and rice. Chorizo had a great spice level and crisp. We tried Moreno's Restaurant in Lemont with a group of 10. We had attempted to reserve a table, but…read moreunfortunately arrived about five minutes late and they had already given the table away. Honestly, that part is completely understandable since we were late and they operate on more of a first-come, first-served basis. Once we were seated, though, the service became quite disappointing. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, and then we waited about 20 minutes just to have our food order taken. From the time we sat down, it was roughly another 20-30 minutes before the food actually arrived. What made the wait even more disappointing was that the restaurant was not busy at all. There were only about three other tables with customers, so we really couldn't understand why everything was taking so long. With that kind of wait, we were really hoping the food would make up for it, but unfortunately it fell short. Some of the dishes were noticeably over-seasoned and salty. The milanesa tortas were tough and chewy, and definitely not something I would order again. I would also skip the rice and beans. The burrito was probably the best thing we tried and was decent. The kids' tacos were also disappointing the tortilla was very greasy and the meat was quite salty and chewy. One other thing worth mentioning is the additional charges. For parties of 6 or more, they automatically add a 20% gratuity, and if you pay with a credit card, there is an additional 3.5% credit-card fee. Given the slow service we experienced, the mandatory 20% gratuity was especially frustrating. Overall, the slow service, mediocre food, and additional fees made this a disappointing experience. If the restaurant had been packed, I could understand the long wait, but with only three other tables occupied, the service was much slower than expected. I probably would not return to this location.

The service was quick and attentive, and although the place was busy we didn't have to wait on a Friday night. We were fairly unfamiliar with the menu options but came with a big appetite, our waiter recommended the empanadas for an appetizer and they were great! Perfectly fried and super crispy, and you could tell the oil they were using was clean which is always a great sign for the rest of the experience for me. The decorations were SUPER cool. They went over the top for the holidays. Even if it's almost February... Both my lady and I ordered margaritas, and they were the best we've had since we moved down. They were STRONG, but not overly so. 1 was enough, 2nd was for fun. As we were leaving the table next to us ordered a pour of tequila and they did it tableside. I had the Colombian flank steak plate. While I can say I came with a big appetite and I can eat, this was about the first time I can say I left a restaurant still hungry. I knew what I was getting into since the menu did state the size of the steak, and I guess it's not a huge minus I left wanting more! The margaritas probably played a part too. The plate was phenomenal. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it was a little on the rare side which I don't mind at all. Everything molded perfectly and no flavor overpowered the other. One of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. The only thing holding back this place from a 5 is the portions and prices. $4 for two shrimp seemed insane, and adding options to the margaritas makes each one almost $16. It certainly doesn't deserve the low 3 star rating on this app. Can't wait to come back!

Once seated, our waiter took our drink orders and they made good cocktails. Then, we ordered an appetizer and dinner at the same time for ease. Then...we waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, we asked about our appetizer and they said it would be coming out soon. People who were seated after us got served but our food hadn't come. And we waited. The food was delicious when we got it, but it took a really long time. I ordered the most expensive item on the menu and I'd give it a 10 out of 10 for flavors- Torro carne asada! The queso fundido and the tacos were also delicious! When they brought the bill, it was clear they knew the experience overall wasn't great because they put two cards for $10 off two meals but didn't say anything about the experience. I would have appreciated a gesture during the time we were there - an appetizer, a drink, another thing to try, just to say, sorry about the wait and we value you and your experience, but that didn't happen. We were so excited to have a new place, but I don't think we'll go back.

I sadly didn't take a picture since my bf ate them so fast! I did order the Birria ramen which was warm and comforting. I found the broth to be flavorful and the noodles not too mushy or crunchy. There were times where I wanted another drink but the bartender wasn't around since she was restocking. I believe having a bar back would have helped with overall service.
