Hands down the best brisket I have had in a long time. Everything is homemade. More food than I could eat. Very friendly folks. A must try.

I have mixed feelings about our visit to this little place. First of all... it's super cute! We…read morewalked in with our 2 kids to a slightly older crowd that I'm sure was local. I felt like we intruded on these ladies lunches! I'm looking all over for a menu and finally ask the girl behind the counter and she pulls a menu out. I'm was so confused as to why they don't just keep them out. The next thing that got me is that there weren't prices on the menu. We ordered 2 pulled pork and 1 chicken salad and it was about $38. The girl behind the counter was very sweet and accommodating, especially for my picky kids. My kids love pulled pork and they said this was okay but they preferred grandpa's. It did look a little dry but my husband said it was okay. My chicken salad sandwich was dry as well. The potato salad was really good though!!! They both could have used a little more seasoning. Thankfully there was salt on the table. Now for the star of the show... the pickles!!! I'm the only real pickle eater and I thought they were really good... enough so that I bought a big container. It was a little odd because the pickles on my plate were different textures. My husband actually noted the same thing. We went back and got a Dr Pepper cake. It was moist and had an interesting flavor. I don't think I would have guessed DP if I hadn't known it before.

Their mission is to provide employment for adults with special needs and their profits support a vocational program to empower local citizens. When you first enter the building, you see a shop with lots of beautifully crafted and interesting products. Lots to shop here, although prices are high which then again, part of the proceeds go into a good cause and the products are well made. The cafe is located at the back of the shop. We spent a little time browsing the shop before going to the cafe. The cafe itself is so welcoming and spacious! Not a great ton of seating available but there's outdoor seating area with turf, which I can see is a huge plus when cooler weather arrives. I love the signs on the wall, very motivating sayings and quotes. For food, I had the avocado toast with bacon and fried egg and an espresso. It was delicious! Price point was good and food came out hot and fresh. I noticed when we were there, the lady at the counter (presumably the manager) was addressing the patrons by name, which was such a nice touch to see. It feels like this place really cares for their customers and is an established place in the local community. Parking is free and ample spaces available when we went there on a Friday morning. I like this place so much I ended up bringing my family there the following week. Support a good cause and eat a nutritious meal at the same time. Go visit!

Cute homey coffee shop…read more Matcha Latte not on the menu, but asked anyway if they had one. Was told that they do! Asked my 20 questions about the Matcha Latte: is it just matcha powder, nothing else, not from a mix? I was assured it was "just" matcha, so I ordered. As we were finishing, I mentioned "unsweetened please". She said "oh, we can't do that: the matcha comes pre-sweetened". Um, then that's not "just matcha", it's a powdered mix that you take a scoop from and mix with water. Big difference. That's the equivalent of telling someone that instant coffee is just like regular coffee. She said she could make me a Chai unsweetened, the 20 questions about that ensued to make sure it didn't have milk solids in it. By this time I'd clearly annoyed her with my questions, so I got a Chai, lol. Who knows the make up of that. I'll come back with my husband to get him a coffee, but will continue my quest for a Matcha Latte elsewhere in Burnet.

Got two slices of sweet bread when I get home. The strawberry banana smoothie with almond butter, fantastic. The owner and a kind barista there, "J.", went the extra mile to warm my personal mug, before I put the Americano coffee inside for my trip on to S.A. TX. If possible, the ambience was even nicer than the taste of the coffee & pastries. Felt like a cedar lodge at Big Bear. Can't wait to stop in Burnet again for this. PS: I am DoD; they show appreciation for SVMs and first responders--very thoughtful.
