I got the notice as I was still shown as the owner of record. I got a hold of Drakes and spoke to Ray the owner. I told him that I no longer owned the car; however, as the person I sold it to did not reach out to the DMV, the responsibility was mine. I asked for his patience to try and research the issue. Long story short, the car had then been sold two more times! AND, not one of the three owners reached out to the DMV. Ray suggested I get a vehicle printout from the DMV to show ownership. I did so and of course it showed me as the owner. As Ray had been patient with me, and I knew that the original title was most likely not around, I went today to pay his costs. The actual amount was a lot and Ray had told me that he would not charge me the entire amount. Ray was not on site; however, Austin, one of his employees was. Austin got a hold of Ray on the phone and told him I had provided the vehicle printout showing I was owner of the vehicle. Much to my surprise, Ray told Austin he would not charge me at all. Tears came to my eyes as I had expected to pay for some of their costs. Ray was a true gentleman during the entire process. He helped me out from the first time I called. It pays to be up front from the beginning and I kept Ray informed every step of the way. I did not expect him to drop the entire cost. I cannot thank Drakes Towing enough for how I was treated.
