Simply. The. Best. Mechanic. In. Longview…read more Here are some words that aren't always associated with mechanics: Honest. Responsive. Flexible. Polite. Affordable. Prompt. Resourceful. Accountable. They ALL apply to Godfrey's. I was fortunate to find them not long after moving to Longview in 2001 and being grossly disappointed by another shop not far away (which shall remain nameless). At the time, I was driving a VERY high-mileage Mazda 626. Jeff was helpful in prioritizing the work it needed (I was out of work and cautious with my $$) and how to get it done. That support has continued now, with a newer-but-not-new PT Cruiser as well. He always saves offending parts to show me what needed repair; he showed me the water that he got out of my fuel filter (never bought THAT gas again); he recommends but does not hard-sell additional work for the future; he takes the time to share with me his diagnostic process and demonstrates deep, deep experience in all areas of repair. Over the years I have sent 6 or 7 friends and relatives there and they ALL have raved about the service. There may be vehicles or repairs where he doesn't excel, but based on the array of vehicles I've seen there, I'd bet against it. It's so nice to write a review that isn't a complaint! Godfrey's RAWKS.

Take your business else where. This man is deplorable. Zero customer skills, on top of charging bogus fee's that finally after making a report got returned to us. We were driving back to Washington when we heard noise on her 2019 Honda. Her dust pad underneath her car became loose. Both screws were gone causing the car to create loud noise in the highway. She called her Honda 24 Hours assistance and told us to visit Honda Stirling WA. When we got there, the sales guy says they cannot do anything about it as their service crews are not in. We start driving and we saw Al's auto body parts garage is open. We then met Al, the owner, trying to work on his car. He then auto-lift her car and secure the flap. What a good samaritan, he did not even charge us. So for all of you out there near Longview WA, bring your business to him.

Stephen arrived, put the car on his truck and drove my family all the way to my house in Portland. A 45 minute drive. It was just one hour from the time they broke down until he put the car on the truck and got moving. Barely a blip in the plan. What a great dispatcher, what a great driver and what a great company! And let me tell you, the prices they are charging for parts alone are up to FIVE TIMES what the parts cost. And their "labor cost" is pretty outrageous for some of the simple things they say need done. I got my thousands of dollars quote and compared their parts costs to actual auto store quotes of the same exact parts and this place is charging triple to 5x the cost! For every single part needed. They never did complete the "free inspection" they offered me (I paid them $150ish for them to slap me with their outrageous quote so I wouldn't quite call the inspection free), even after keeping my car for multiple days and saying they would do it. Another disappointment. All in all a pretty bad experience.
