I would never recommend this business. I paid almost $5,000 to have my brakes fixed and they failed. The car accident it caused could have been fatal. There were children in both vehicle, a baby even. I left them a review on Facebook and my review was the newest one in YEARS and they blocked me so that says A LOT about the type of people and business they are. Even after paying for everything they still were trying to charge me an extra $500 for a hose that did NOT need replacing...turned out one of their employees spilled fluid and that was all. As for my brakes failing Im beyond disgusted with this business and their behavior towards the community they serve. read more

The glowing reviews of this place leave me suspicious, after my own experience here. I drive a regular ol' car. And let me tell you, the prices they are charging for parts alone are up to FIVE TIMES what the parts cost. And their "labor cost" is pretty outrageous for some of the simple things they say need done. I got my thousands of dollars quote and compared their parts costs to actual auto store quotes of the same exact parts and this place is charging triple to 5x the cost! For every single part needed. They never did complete the "free inspection" they offered me (I paid them $150ish for them to slap me with their outrageous quote so I wouldn't quite call the inspection free), even after keeping my car for multiple days and saying they would do it. I had an unexpected car emergency due to me not paying attention when pumping what I thought was unleaded gas witch actually turned out to be DEF (Diesel exhaust fuel) this past Friday 10/25/24 while on a long drive to cannon beach with my partner and 5 children. We were stuck at the gas station once Bob's lil car hospital was opened I called and they confirmed they could get us in around 10. The tow truck brought us to Bob's Lil Car Hospital about 10:30am , and I couldn't have been more relieved to find such a warm and welcoming business. From the moment we arrived, the staff at Bob's Lil Car Hospital went above and beyond to help us. I was exhausted and stranded and stressed out , but their kindness and efficiency made a stressful situation much more manageable. They gave the kids stuff to color and keep busy. We were so relieved and turns out the part I need it wasn't accessible, It wouldn't be in till Tuesday. I was so thankful that they had a loaner car that I could use. Very happy with my service here! Been looking for an alternative to the VW dealership and think I found it. If it's anything that is not routine business, they will get my business. Soon after a routine service at the VW dealership I found my car was leaking oil. Bob found a compromised seal and repaired but the leak which is usually an ordeal at Dick Hannah as they try to get every add on possible. Bob stands by his work too. Brought my fathers old 1983 F150 to Lil Car Hospital. This truck had hadn't been started in 14 years. I did a few repairs at home and towed it to them. Car emergencies are not so bad when you have really good people to help. Driving home from Ridgefield, WA something came flying towards our car and tore apart our undercarriage shield. We own a 2019 Dodge Journey GT with a battery constantly going dead. After more than one trip to a local dealer, we were told that the battery was being drained from a dangling wire subsequent to removal of an after market device that Hertz Rentals had installed (we purchased the car from Hertz). We were also told that the computers on the car drain the battery after the car is shut off. A new battery under warranty was installed by the dealer. As a safeguard, we used a trickle charger, only to have the battery die again in 6 months. That was just 2 days ago. Instead of taking the car to the dealer, we had it towed to Bob's Lil Car Hospital, where they quickly and efficiently determined that the battery was bad and needed replacement. Bob's also confirmed that the computers do drain the battery a small amount, but not to the point where a dead battery would result. The L'il Car Hospital is a great business, where you are treated like royalty by well trained, friendly, efficient staff. Their prices are reasonable also. Thank you Bob's. read more

Horrible, took them my rav4, it wouldn't start. They did their top of the line testing and concluded I definitely needed a new brain box, $2,600 for a new one (right). So the mechanic informed me I could purchase a used one. so I did, thinking they would maybe test it to make sure it worked. Ended up costing me $1000 sure it started and got me home, but that was it, the car never started again! (unethical) bobs had my car over a week. read more

Saved our honeymoon! In June 2013, my wife and I were honeymooning in Longview, mainly so we could visit the Sloth Center at the Zoological Wildlife Conservation Center in nearby Rainer, for a day of Sloths and other animals, which you all need to do! Unfortunately my car started acting up and was having a bad misfire on the way from Seattle, shuttering and not making freeway speeds, and almost stalling on city streets. We were staying at the local B & B, which is also awesome, (and tried to help us find a repair place), but we knew no one there. Also, the last leg of our honeymoon was to drive to The Dalles and adopt a 14 year old toy poodle, so we really couldn't risk having the car break down on our way home. We called and went to a few repair places, who said they could only help us if we left our car there all day, which would mean spending a day of our honeymoon stranded in the industrial area of Longview, or if we were lucky taking a cab back and forth to our room at the B & B, not so bad, but not our planned day of sightseeing and dinner in Portland. Luckily, I called Bob's, and explained everything, they said the mechanics could take a look at it when they got back from lunch, and that there was a park nearby that might be nice to wait in. Having no where else really to go, we went straight there and dropped the car off and walked to the nearby park, which was quite nice, and we sat and read in the sun. We got the call the car was ready early and headed back. The problem was a spark plug wire and they had been able to replace it with a used one, (which I had said would be fine beforehand, and that I could get more repairs done in Seattle) and the cost was less than we were quoted! In less than two hours we were back on the road and able to go down to Portland for the rest of the day as planned. The next day we picked up our fabulous little senior toy poodle, now named Mosey, and drove home without a worry or any car troubles! Went in to get my "extreme vibration" problem when braking from high speeds, especially downhill fixed. They diagnosed it as warped rotors in the front and replaced them. The price was fair and they did a great job. In addition, the back rotors were at 40% meat, and instead of pushing for new ones, they resurfaced them and gave new life to my brakes. The receptionist at the front desk was really nice and was kind to answer all my auto questions since recently I have been intrigued in learning about cars. She was knowledgeable and very sweet. Overall, I have found a trustworthy shop which I will frequent in the future for automotive needs because they also provide a variety of services besides brakes. I appreciate businesses like this one who fix what you need and don't try to sell unnecessary parts to those most vulnerable due to a lack of experience in cars. I was treated so rudely and condescendingly when I brought my car here for a service to be done; they refused to do the service but they didn't "feel" it would do any good. When I called to check on the status of my car, the "gentleman" who answered the phone said he sold my car "for 17 cents" ha ha. I asked them to do it anyway and they refused and the two "professionals" I spoke with actually argued with me and said they had called me to let me know of this, but there was no record of any call. This person continued to convince me that I, the customer, was "wasting my money"; well, I will never "waste" my money again at this joke of a place. read more

this place is a rip off, Not very honest, paid $1600 for him to fix my car, the same problem came back with in a month. took it back. and he said he miss diagnosed and would fix the problem again for $3100 more dollars, said he would drop $500 off the $3100 for his mistake. ended up being a cracked block, took it somewhere else got it fixed for $1400. Asked BOB if he would refund me at least $500 for his mistake he said no. I was told before I took it there that this place was a rip off, But because I knew his brother though he would be fair with me, Was told by other people that he always adds parts that you don't need to jack up the price.
