I decided to give builder gel a try. So I go and get them done , within two days the first nail had popped off like a sticker and then the following two days I had two more nails come off. I went back and asked for a reimbursement. Since I knew more were going to come off and they were not done correctly, meaning that I'd need to either damage my nails further with either a full set or gel. Either option they have to buff my nails again. The lady came around the glass asap, she was so quiet and she'd done this ~Duh, on purpose. Then she grabbed my hands so she could see without asking and holding g hard enough I had to yank my hands away, reporting that I just want a reimbursement. She said she would help me and asked me to sign in. So I signed in at the Little kiosk thinking my profile was needed to get a reimbursement. Nope. She was trying to get me to sit down so she could redo the nails that were missing. I told her I did not want to do that and wanted a refund. She stood up and went closer to me whispering again that she would fix it for me. I said great. She walked to the chair gesturing me to sit. Dude no. Come on. I asked her, that since she said she would fix it if she knew how to reimburse me. Whispering she said no and pointed towards a loose-leaf taped paper near the register that said they were not obligated to provide any services or returns per establishment discretion. The very next day, another nail popped off.

All staff were already giving pedicures to people and 2 to 3 people were in pedicure chairs soaking their feet, waiting for a pedicure. This time, I was in luck! Mitchell Nails is about a mile away from their practice and they're open until 8. I called ahead and asked if they'd take a pedi at 7:30 and she quickly said yes! I pull up about 7:20, and I have to admit, wasn't sure about it. It's in small strip mall next to a gas station. And inside the nail salon looks a little dated. But as soon as I walked in I was greeted with smiles and friendliness. They had several others there already but got me in right away. I got a basic pedi - I picked my color and I wasn't trying to be upsold on gel or designs or anything. She took her time as she cleaned my nails and massaged my feet. And to my amazement, my total was only $40! I feel like that's the lowest prices I've seen for a pedi in so many years!! My pedi was done at about 8:10, she sat me at the dryer to let them dry quicker and they didn't rush me out at all. I sat at the dryer for 15 mins, and I was like am I good to go? She's like yea, it should be dry by now, but you can sit there til your kid is done with practice! I was like oh no, I'm sure you want to go home! And they kept saying, it's fine it's fine! Being "fit in" has always brought a poor experience and this was no different. We started with our pedicures. The same person did both mine and my mom's pedicure which meant one of us had to sit and wait but more importantly parts of pedicures were either skipped or cut short. The massage is the best part and it maybe lasted 90 seconds on each foot. The pedicures were a fancy polish change at best. :( When it came to our nails - although both our nails turned out ok it was a slow painful process. I'm particular when it comes to the shape and ensuring my cuticles get trimmed well because they grow fast. I attempted to say something to the person doing my nails about this and she informed me she knows how to do nails and cut cuticles. After that the only time I talked to her was to request to fix corners of 5 or so nails and to just cut a nail that was broken that she was trying to preserve. For my mom the tech filed her nails way shorter than she prefers and was slow with each step. Again I wanted to like this place as I could then have another place to go but unfortunately I have no plans to return.
