    I used to hear such wonderful things about T-mobile before they bought out Sprint. Great customer…read moreservice, great plan pricing, the works. All that seems to have changed. The only provider we had in Woodstock was Sprint, which was just a licensing agreement with Shentel. When T-mobile took over, all the locals were looking forward to it as Sprint was lackluster yet tolerable but we were hoping for improvement. Customer service is crap. Doesn't matter if there's two people ahead of you or ten people; you're going to be waiting for at least a few hours. The reps have even less sense of urgency than the DMV at lunch time. Call quality has really gone downhill. Even standing outside in direct view of a tower won't stop your call from breaking up or dropping completely. Even though they're the only carrier in the area (unless you count Cricket Wireless on the north end of town), do your research before settling on T-mobile. I just cannot recommend them.

About an hour and a half after waiting, I really had to use the bathroom. I told the girl that I was going to run over to Sheetz to use the bathroom. She said okay and I left. When I got back she told me that she called my name and I didn't come so I lost my place in line and I would have to put my name in again and start the waiting process over. Poor customer service. I drove to another t mobile store in Harrisonburg and got great service right away. I won't be back. I now drive a little longer to get better service

The second time he said his name I immediately remembered him. JD stayed patient the whole time. We talked through a bunch of different ideas, and when he ran out of options he reached out to coworkers to see what had worked for them. It never felt like he was just trying to close the ticket and move on. Talking with JD was night and day compared to typical support calls--clear native English communication (rare for today's standards), practical thinking, and real ownership of the problem instead of reading a checklist. That level of service should be the standard. At one point I told him, "Sometimes there's only so much you can do--I'll take the L." He came right back with, "No, I'm not leaving you hanging." And he didn't. Internet's fixed, and we put a plan in place so this doesn't happen again. Called in multiple days. JD showed up twice. Problem solved.

Over a period of at least two months they would come do a little and leave. Finally a third person came dug up a hole to splice the line and left the hole. I called several times to get someone to come back and fill the hole in. My kid fell inside the hole. I begged and pleaded with them to come back and fill the hole as I didn't want to mess with the junction box they placed deep inside the hole. I finally just had to fill the hole myself. Think about that I paid them for a service A lot of money every month and I have to go out and manually fill in a hole and repair what they created. Not to mention they screwed up my property by digging a deep hole. They have yet to return to fill in the hole.

All 14 years have been consistent. Terrible company, far worse customer service. The internet goes down a shocking amount. When you call to report it, they berate you like you're the one that knocked a tree over into their line 6 miles away. Rude doesn't describe it. It's like no matter who picks up the phone, they are having the worst day ever & you get to be their verbal punching bag. Shentel's IT service people are either on drugs or mentally handicapped. Not sure which yet. I don't use Shentel for my email because it sucks beyond words (think AOL's little cousin but sadder). A lot of our older friends out here do use it because it's free. Shentel randomly decided to block my email provider. Only Shentel. My friends with Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, Comcast, Cox, Verizon, etc all got my emails just fine. My friends with Shentel emails called Shentel to complain about my email provider being blocked. My friends were all given different excuses & told it was fixed. When if fact, Shentel did jack shit to fix it. You would think after over 20 phone calls Shentel might realized they made a mistake. Oh no. So I called about it. Mind you, I worked with computers for over 5 years & my Husband has worked in all aspects of IT for over 15 years. Shentel's special needs drug addict IT support team tried to tell us that their users couldn't receive my emails because my email provider must have put up a firewall. I calmly explained that isn't how any of that works & also wouldn't explain why other providers could still receive my emails. I was then told that they wouldn't fix the problem because I don't have their email, therefore it's not their problem. I explained that I pay for their shitty ass telephone & internet service so it is in fact their problem. We then proceeded to argue about this for over an hour, I supposedly got to talk to 4 different managers & go through the entire argument every single time. After I threatened them with a lawsuit, the problem was magically fixed. My Husband would like me to add that he did get a nice customer service guy on the phone once (1 out of hundreds of calls). Aside from that 1 helpful guy (that they probably murdered), I sleep at night knowing that there is a special place in hell for all of Shentel & it's dumbass inbred employees.

    When I walked in there I had talked to a service rep two days prior over the phone and they told me…read morehow they could help me. But when I walked into the store, the man behind the counter (the manager of the store) told me that he couldn't do that. I asked him to read the notes from the service rep because the service rep told me that they could and that if you guys tried to steer me in another direction to read the notes, he still refused to read the notes. And then my boyfriend was talking about how best buy was screwing him around and the man said "Dude best buy will fuck you over every time, I'm talking no lube no nothing just going straight in" For a business establishment that is NOT something that you sit there and say to your customers on top of not helping them how they were promised. When the other employee got back, the manager instead of finishing helping me like he should have he just got up and left for the day leaving the other employee to take care of me. Which I didn't mind, he was a lot nicer but the fact remains that is not how you treat a customer and that is not good customer service. Next time I need something I will drive the 40 minutes to Front Royal so I don't have to go back to that store and deal with that kind of service again. I walked out still getting a new phone but paying way more than I was told I would a few days prior with a service rep over the phone.
