I took my iPhone 14 Pro Max to GUI in Winchester on July 6 after it developed the "white screen of death." The phone still responded to touch, but the display was completely white. They replaced the screen, and that issue was fixed. Over the next week, I started noticing problems that I had never experienced before the repair. During phone calls, if I held the phone to my ear and then pulled it away to switch to speaker so I could look something up or use my phone while talking, the screen would stay completely black and I couldn't access it. The only way to use my phone again was to wait until the other person hung up. I also stopped receiving wake-screen notifications--the phone would vibrate and make a sound, but the display wouldn't turn on. Before going back to the store, I waited a full week to make sure it wasn't a software issue and even reset my phone, but the problems continued. I went back on July 13, and the technician gave me two options: leave my phone for a couple of days for diagnostics or replace the screen again. Since I couldn't be without my phone because of doctor appointments, bills, and other responsibilities, I chose to have the screen replaced again. When I returned today ( July 18) to finally leave it for diagnostics, I was told that a diagnostic test had actually been done on July 13 &' everything came back normal. This was never mentioned to me at the time until today. The technician then said he never told me diagnostics would take a couple of days only a couple of hours, even though that's what I understood from our previous conversation. Instead of offering a solution, he suggested I just buy a new phone, even though I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, which isn't an old device. I paid $208 for the original screen replacement, and every issue I'm experiencing started only AFTER the repair. I left feeling like my concerns were dismissed and that I wasn't being taken seriously. The technician came across as rude, and I was disappointed by the lack of communication, accountability, and customer service. I took my son's iPad in on 5/31 because it wasn't charging. I expressed to them that if it's something that can't be fixed or last that I would be more than happy to go buy a new one, but they reassured me that they could fix it They replaced a part on the screen that was bad and tightened the cable port for 'free'. Their fixed only lasted about three weeks, that is for the cable port. I took it back in today only for them to deny their three month warranty because they fixed it for ' free' which in my mind just tells me they knew their fix wasn't going to last and that is why they did it for 'free'. They were going to charge me another $150 to fix it and at that point, I'm already halfway there to a new iPad so why keep wasting money on fixes that aren't going to last. I had other work done there before and I'm starting to have issues with the phone again. Either the guys don't know how to fix things or they do not want to admit to customers that their repair is not gonna last just so they can get more money out of people. I will never use them again and will definitely not recommend them. At this point in time we're not that far from Virginia to get some quality repairs done with people that know what they're doing. read more

Just wanted to give a great review to these guys. I've gone in 3 times. Two of those times it turned out to be a really minor issue with my Apple product and they didn't even charge me. The other time I brought 2 iPads in. They were able to fix one and the other one I only had to pay a small diagnostic fee. An elderly friend was given an iPhone 6 from his son. There was only one thing wrong with it; Siri didn't work. We tried troubleshooting it and eventually completely restoring the phone and it didn't fix the problem. After reading some local reviews of a new store in Winchester, I sent him over to Experimac to see if they could help. Not only did they not fix the Siri problem, but they damaged the phone further. We are now unable to send or receive any phone calls. I went back to Experimac to find out what they had done and it turns out, they replaced the antennae and lightning charge port. This was NOT what we asked to have done. They told us they would take another look at the phone and give us a call back. 5 days went by and they didn't call us. We called them and they told us they couldn't find the problem. Conclusion: They took advantage of a 76 year old man, replaced parts that were not relevant to the original problem, charged the elderly man for a service he didn't ask for, and didn't fix the problem he came in with OR the problem they created. read more

Took my laptop here. Explained the computer took awhile to come up, oh yea you need the screen replaced even though he never took the time to wait for the screen to come on. I believe they knew the fix but wanted $650 to replace the screen. I asked "What was the diagnostic code that came up since you charged for the diagnostic" . oh no we couldn't get the screen to come up! Their reply "But you can use the diagnostic fee to go towards a purchase towards one of our computers" Total rip off. For the first time ever I walked in today to inquire on cost of a battery for my cell. There was a man behind the counter and one other random human talking to him from the middle of an otherwise empty store. As soon as the saw me they stopped talking. The one man sat down in the middle of the store and the person behind the counter was sitting working on cell. I stood for nearly 5 min and the person who I assumed worked there did not even say hello what can I do for you nothing. He would not look up at all. No words despite me standing there. And standing. Finally I spoke & said how long does someone have to stand in front of you in an empty store for you to acknowledge you? This employee finally looked up and said this mans phone will take a while. Directed by my service provider as a quick option to get a phone, I bought a IPhone 6+ back in November 2017 at Experimac at 86 Featherbed Ln in Winchester VA. The owner Shane sold me the 6+ giving me the green light that it was tested and they had a 90 day warranty on it. I was excited even tho the phone itself was $380.00 dollars. It wasn't even a week until the phone had problems with people hearing me on it. Of course they fix it right away. Then a month later I had problems with the speaker where I couldn't hear people. Of course they fix it right away. Then a month or so later I had battery problems. They fix it without charge. They my 90 day warranty went out. I paid out of pocket to get the charging port fixed in March 2018 and then in April I paid out of pocket to have the antenna fixed (twice). The last operation didn't fix my phone. Today I went in and talk to Shane to see if he could do something. He told me no, and that the IPhone 6+ is known to have lots of problems. So MY QUESTION IS WHY DID YOU SELL IT TO ME???! Why didn't you stop me from spending even more money on it?! I am out of 380.00 + whatever the repairs were. Ive been to this store 7-8 times to have my phone fixed.
