As I do not have eye insurance, I am very careful where I spend my money. This is my second annual eye exam at My Eye Doctor. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I especially like Dr Refahi - she was proficient in giving my eye exam and very thorough in explaining the changes in my prescription. She truly cared about the health of my eyes and discussed my lifestyle (time on the computer, my difficulty threading a needle when sewing, and sun glare off the river while kayaking) in order to give me the best advice possible on appropriate eyewear. The staff then used this information to help me select the best lenses and frames. Even better for me, the cost was considerably less than I had been paying for eyewear in the DC area. Appointments are a month or more out. If you don't confirm your appointment the day before you will be moved to over flow and told that you will need to reschedule because the doctor is over booked. In all of my years I have NEVER been treated like this by any business. I do not care how good the doctor may be or not be, because their front office is seriously flawed. Block out the day before your appointment as a day off because you will need to respond to their late notifications by a certain time. They also will tell you that they tried to call all the Friday before however your phone will mysteriously have zero record of any calls from them. Many more businesses that will treat you more like an adult than a 5 year old. Stay Away!!!! read more

This eye drs office is ridiculous. If you go for a Friday appointment you will automatically get charged an extra $40 for a test that you probably don't need. I just had it done not too long ago and I don't need them to take my $40 so soon again! But they won't tell you this before you drive from out of town to get there. Then when you call back to reschedule and to thank them for disclosing to you ahead of time (NOT) the extra fee they then are very rude. When I use please and thank you, don't answer me with a yep or nope. I can't even with this office. It's really a shame because I liked the lady dr a lot. Peace out Front Royal! Happy they are there and nearby. Haven't had to get glasses in a decade but could tell I needed some. They were busy but I didn't have to wait long at all for my appointment. It seemed to me they were handling all traffic just fine. They did an exam and got the prescription so perfect, the glasses are perfect. Pricey but having insurance helps. Also, they correctly suggested bifocal lens, but I said no. Later I realized I needed more for up close as well, so I bought two more pair for reading glasses. So, they were correct all along. The glasses ordered all arrived in a nice, short timeframe for pick-up. read more

On the morning of October 13,2023 I entered the MyEyeDr in Front Royal with my husband. We were the only customers in the office, I thought great, a perfect time to select and get fitted for new glasses! We walked to the counter told the young lady we would like to purchase new glasses, she motioned to the glasses and said ok - just pick them out! She did not get up or offer any assistance whatsoever. There was another employee sitting in the area where they actually fit you, I asked her a question also got the same response just look around and pick something. I then asked her if she could at least point me in the direction of the men's frames! Again they did not get up to help- her answer was they are not set up my gender the are all mixed by brand names. I FINALLY FOUND A PAIR that was similar to what we had and told her these will do. She measured him quoted a price without even asking what enhancements he wanted! We finally got glasses ordered, I am not confident of what we will be getting when they come in (two weeks). We chose this office because we have VSP insurance that needed to be used before year end. In conclusion we were still the only customers in that store when we left. I feel they should have helped with selection and been more knowledgeable on the product they sell. Showed up at appointment on time but they weren't able to see me. People started coming in with appointments over 30 minutes after mine. I had past visits without an issue, but I was getting impatient trying to figure out what timeframe the receptionist considered as "shortly". The doctor (female) was great. Then I walked out to the lobby and was quickly reminded why I had not been to any myeyedr since 2008. The prices. They upcharge for everything!!! I realized it when the person helping my husband said he owed $$ for a warranty, scratch guard and progressive lenses which are all FREE at Walmart, Costco, Sams, the place in the mall etc etc. As the epiphany hits me and I say I'm not paying for this and that, that's why I have insurance, the person waiting on my husband suddenly turns childlike. She pokes out her top lip and begins to whine. True story. I was suddenly stuck dealing with a 2 year old that I wanted to smack the snot out of. I didn't, but only barely. Seriously, go anywhere else and save yourself the irritation. Not too mention, she told me (insert lip and whiny voice) if my husband broke his glasses and I didn't pay for the warranty they would cost $900 to replace. Are you nuts they weren't a name brand, no scratch coat etc etc. Same glasses, better name brand if you care about that, warranty, scratch resistant coating, bifocal progressive lenses would have been $300 at Walmart. I walked out of there happy and with all my money in my pocket. read more

I went here because my insurance covered an exam here. The doctor was great, the ppl were great.....right up until I told them that I wasn't going to order any glasses. They begrudgingly gave me my prescription. I attempted to order glasses online and was told that the prescription was incorrect. I called them and they would NOT verify my prescription. So I attempted another site to order glasses and was told the same thing. DO NOT GO TO THESE PPL IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO ORDER GLASSES FROM THEM. They will give you the wrong prescription so you order the wrong glasses - thanks for wasting my money and time. Luckily I found some honest ppl to help me with my prescription. I also attempted to report them to their corporate office and never received a reply to my email or calls - so the whole company must be a sham. STAY VERY FAR AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ! read more

I definitely sent a complaint to corporate regarding Dr. Stefans she is rude showed no empathy or sympathy for my situation, if anything she said i can't deal with this, this meaning me and my condition. I really dont know how she is in the hospitality field of profession when you showed NONE! You maam should be heavily disciplined for your actions that you took against me. I will never ever forget what you said and how you made me feel. You maam need not to be in the field that your currently in if you are not understanding and patient with your customers. I really felt so angry and pissed off that I couldn't get my thoughts together and I really dont know if my exam went well or not because at that moment my mine and my body was going thru extreme changes. I will say this the staff was amazing but Dr. Stefans by any means not a dr that I would go to she really showed her true colors! I would think she would have shame but she probably don't she just basically treated me like I was another customer doing her job. Which your job should be caring and showing some empathy to patients that have challenges. Not dismissing them or minimizing them, I would strongly encourage anyone that is going to this Dr DONT! Everyone was really nice. My problem is I ordered glasses from them and contacts from another place. Well when I got my sample contacts 2 times From MyEyeDr I still couldn't couldn't see properly without readers which defeats the purpose of getting contacts. I contacted the staff 3 times and asked if the Doctor could just write me a prescription for what I was prescribed last year which I could see fine without readers that was a week ago and I'm still waiting for a return call back. read more

This business replaced my original eye care provider in Harrisonburg. I was pleasantly surprised to see the same familiar staff. Though I did not get an appointment with my regular doctor, Dr. Welch was terrific! He was professional, friendly and exhibited competence. His care was greatly appreciated as I had felt rushed just fitting in the appointment to my busy day. I was at ease under his care. I asked for my prescription and they intentionally wrote the wrong information. I called to verify and they would not give me the information again. I like Dr. Ely a lot. He has been a good eye doctor for years. He provided all the exams and services that my insurance would pay for. But i was completely disappointed when this office became a 'my eye dr' office. I was told that to receive the same exams that I had been receiving, I would have to pay for them out of my own pocket. They would not submit them to my insurance company. My insurance did not change. They would pay for the exams. So you tell me. Who is this corporation out to serve? The insurance companies, by cutting their costs or the patients? I will not be returning. I pay for that insurance. I should not be denied the services by the corporate provider. read more

The staff was great and they did not try to sell me the most expensive pair of glasses. The lady was very nice and helpful in choosing reading glasses that would work for me. The doctor was great and very informative. I will return to this office again. They also take my insurance which is nice and saved me money. I would recommend them to others. read more

My husband and I recently tried to purchase glasses and contact lenses at MyEyeDr in Front Royal and are still struggling to believe what a disaster it was. First, they ordered a different brand of contact lenses than I asked for. Second, the lenses for my glasses were scratched. Third, when they put those lenses in my old frames they adjusted the frames so harshly that they broke. Finally, when my husband picked up his new glasses the frames were not the frames that he had selected. While he was trying to return the frames another man came in with the exact same problem.
