After having my worst eye done first (left) and on the very same day of surgery, I tried comparing my eye sight. I was looking at a large black & white picture with my right eye and it was perfectly clear to me with my prescription glasses on. Then I took my glasses off, closed my right eye and looked at it with the left eye. It was an "OMG" moment for sure. The picture was a bright white and sharp, clear black. I looked again with the right eye and realized I was seeing a cream color, not white, and a dark gray... not black. I have had both eyes done now with very positive results (as they expected) and the difference is amazing. I must say that dealing with Dr. Jani and his staff was a very good experience before, during and after the procedure (which took only a few minutes). It was also very educational and everyone, including Dr. Jani, treated my questions and concerns with respect and understanding, while taking the time to answer fully, until I was comfortable with the answers. Dr Jani even explained (when I went for my followup) the weird sounding music I had heard and commented about while he was doing the very painless procedure... it was the various tones the machine was making while he was working on me! Sounded like chamber music to me. We had a good laugh about that. I would and will recommend Dr. Jani to anyone in need of his expertise. He is an excellent doctor and I have absolutely no complaints to pass on to anyone. In fact, I'll kind of miss going to see him and his staff.

The spot had been spreading over the years and she is the only doctor who referred me for a biopsy and I found out that I had basal cell carcinoma on my eyelid. She is the only doctor out of about 8 over a 13 year period who suggested a biopsy. For 13 years I had bcc on my eye and every year other doctors looked at it and dismissed it. I'm so glad I found her. She even called the plastic surgeon who was booked for 6 months and got an immediate appointment for me. 13 years I had cancer and not one other doctor suggested a biopsy. I love her!

On our first visit, Farida walked her through the procedure and answered all her questions. She was upfront about cost and even checked our insurance to determine what our final cost would be. We met Dr Nasrullah during our initial visit. He was very nice and took his time answering our questions. He explained the procedure and what would happen afterwards. We were glad we got to meet him that day because we felt much better about the procedure and decided to move forward. On the day of the procedure, we met Dr Nasrullah at the Reston Surgical Center. He reviewed the process and procedure again and answered our questions. They collected payment the day of the procedure. Cash or Credit Cards only- no checks accepted. The process was as quick as Dr Nasrullah described. The process itself took about 20 minutes, but with the preparation and post care we were at the center for about 2 hrs. Before the procedure, my aunt's vision was -6 due to the cataract. Now her vision is 20/20! Very happy with the results!

I asked how long it would take, in case I had enough time to run a quick errand and was told 20 minutes - unfortunately that estimate was way off. It was over an hour before we got to check out. I will say, everyone was very kind, friendly and patient but allow for double any estimated time.

Dr. Kalra, however, had terrible "bedside" manners, truly inexusable, wouldn't answer basic questions, was terse, wouldn't even tell me the degree of vision degradation that I had (I answered this for myself with a 5 min google search using the diagnosis code, I have mild far hyperopia, far sightedness). I explained I hadn't been to an eye doctor in 20+ years and he didn't give me more than a few sentences, didn't even review my family medical history with me (which includes major macular degeneration). In summary, the ladies selling the glasses are great but the physician is a waste of your time and money if you have any reasonable expectation of physician/patient interaction.

The doctor told me nobody in the office had time to show me how to properly put them in my eyes. So I'm just confused to what my window of time for an appointment is for, me or them?? A week later here I am writing this after having to spend more money for glasses. Although I will say the staff is very friendly and the doc did show me once but I need some pointers because it's not as easy as he made it look! Just a lot of money spent and lost, and I'm not even convinced my prescription is correct!
