I knew I would be taking a chance to outsource this repair, but couldn't wait any longer. I would have loved to have fixed this machine on my own, but a touch of arthritis had reduced my ability to perform fine motor skills required. I'd cracked the screen of my best machine, an MSI GS-65 several months earlier; it had become all but unusable without an external monitor to display what I could no longer see on my shattered screen. First, though, I asked Arthur about repairing a shattered screen on a smartphone (an otherwise excellent Nokia) I brought in with me. He confirmed something I already knew -- that the phone wasn't worth the cost of repair. This led me to believe he knew the costs involved and how those factored into a good decision about fixing OR NOT FIXING the phone. It also made me feel like I could trust him. (All before we started discussing the much bigger concern I had -- my MSI Stealth Gaming Laptop.) -------------------------------------------------------- Now I must interject a little advice to consumers. IF YOU WANT YOUR MACHIENE FIXED PROPERLY AND AT A REASONABLE PRICE, find a technician whom you trust, get a quote on the price and time required, and then LEAVE HIM OR HER TO FINISH THE JOB. THE REPAIR TAKES AS LONG AS IT TAKES. NAGGING OR HARRANGUING him/her is counter-productive. -------------------------------------------------------- I followed my own advice and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with the result. The repair wasn't cheap. If it HAD been a cheap fix, I'd have been susupicious. I knew for myself this wasn't going to be a simple inexpensive repair. HOWEVER -- the cost of the repair was QUITE REASONABLE and represented a GOOD VALUE. Most importantly, Arthur fixed my laptop correctly the FIRST TIME, using the CORRECT PARTS, and I have been VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. I cannot promise the folks at CPR INDIAN TRAIL can fix your laptop or mobile phone. (NEITHER WILL THEY, I'd venture a guess.) HOWEVER, I'd stake my own professional reputation by recommeding CPR Indian Trail to say: YOU CAN TRUST ARTHUR AND COMPANY to examine your problem, to propose a fairly priced solution, and to perform a quality repair. They also are empathetic to your tech crisis and don't use any high pressure sales tactics like other repair shops. I trust them for all my device repair needs. Visit 1: My phone screen went black, wasn't charging, and was completely unresponsive. They ordered the part they thought they needed, and it turned out that wasn't the issue. I gave them permission to order the more expensive "plan b" option.. still didn't work. My phone was officially dead, but they didn't charge for the parts or service because it ultimately wasn't fixed and nothing was able to be salvaged. This type of honesty and service practice is hard to come by, even though the outcome wasn't what I wanted. Visit 2: My laptop screen was cracked. They ordered me a replacement screen and made the repair. Simple, easy, and fair prices. It took a little less than a week because they didn't stock those screens. Visit 3: A different laptop "turned into a brick" after a MS update. They confirmed that it wasn't reversible but offered a solution to at save the files. They were able to confirm that the hard drive was still good, so they turned it into an external hard drive and salvaged my personal files for a reasonable price.

The second employee said he couldn't help at first but ended up helping us anyway, and he was actually nice. The problem was that multiple employees kept yelling things like "it's over there" instead of calmly helping us figure out where to go. There were more than four people talking loudly and pointing us in different directions, and the whole situation became overwhelming and unnecessary. The checkout employee was chill, so that part was fine, but overall, the experience could've been handled a lot better. We just wanted help finding a product, not to be sent back and forth by several employees.

I had one customer in front of my waiting, so my brother and I read up on the monthly plans available and the phones they had available. Once it was my turn, the rep Saleem came to assist. I explained the reason for my visit and he took a look at my account. He stated that I was already in the best plan for my needs based on my utilization. My brother pointed out that the unlimited route for me was less per month and calculated the bill for him. Saleem finally agreed that the unlimited route for the 4 devices was indeed most cost effective as my brother had pointed out. My brother and I selected an entry level smart phone for my mother and after explaining what was needed the sales rep agreed that was what he would recommend too. I had to pay an activation fee for the phone which I didn't like. He couldn't assist further and suggested calling customer service to see if they'd waive it. After we chose to pass on his attempt to sell us add ons such as a screen protector and overpriced phone case, he was less motivated. The associates were more interested in speaking to each other, even when they were dealing with customers. Once I got to the car, I had more questions about the new billed amount and such. In conclusion, I feel that I did walk out of there with a phone (immediate gratification) but going to the physical location wasn't above and beyond in any way. I ended up calling customer service when I got home to answer my questions and to inquire about activation fees. I could've made my changes online and purchased the phone online as well. Im Disappointed that I've been with this company for 10 plus years with 4 lines. Theres way too much competition out there to settle for average or less than service.
