I got dragged into the process and realized that the speakers in my Honda didn't sound that good anymore. Long story short I decided to upgrade the stereo in my car. I studied all the local car stereo shops but the brands carried at most of them didn't inspire much confidence. Low quality name brands tend to reflect the poor service/installs of the places that carry them. Case in point just a couple years before I got a Sony (low/mid level receiver) at the local Best Buy. The installer botched the job. I couldn't even get the air conditioner to work and the heater was on 100% of the time! It took a few days before Best Buy would even fix the problem they created. I ruled out Best Buy immediately for future upgrades. Sounds Unique carried several quality brands and I decided that I'd give them a shot. I listened to several of the speakers in the store and decided on the JL Audio 6.5 inch component speakers and a JL Audio Amplifier. The installation wasn't cheap, but it was well done. I couldn't decide which subwoofer I wanted, so the owner offered to let me try different boxes for a few days each to see which I liked most (without charge!). After testing 3 boxes I decided which I wanted, plus I had them install a high end Alpine receiver to replace the Sony at the same time. The business acumen of the owner was very keen....he smartly knew that letting me test the boxes would make me wish for more control over the sound! The Alpine head unit I selected has separate subwoofer outputs so that fine control could be established rather than the hamfisted control of the cheap Sony I had been using. The sound quality is, frankly, astounding. I have superb sound quality at impressive sound pressure levels with NO distortion. The installation is seamless as well with little hint that the stereo in the car is a monster. I'd give this store a 5 star rating, except that there was a minor error on the part of the installer that resulted in slight damage to the lock on my driver side door. It still works, but a small piece was broken during the install and had to be "fixed". It's an old car and there is no guarantee that wouldn't have happened anyway. All in all I'm quite pleased with the work that Sounds Unique did and will give them future business if I need more car stereo work done locally.

Well, it took about an hour of searching for the address or phone number used 18 years ago for initial purchase and 13 years ago on the solitaire upgrade. But the wonderful gentlemen kept trying and we finally found it! I greatly appreciated his efforts and now have the numbers stored in my phone!! THANK YOU!!!!

Three weeks later I received a call from an associate giving me an estimate for the resize of the rings. I was somewhat lost because when I dropped off the rings I was not only given the estimate I was also given a receipt. When I explained to the associate that I was just waiting for my rings to be picked up and I already had the estimate he told me that he would call me back. The following day my husband and I went to check on the status taking the receipt with us. The associate informed us that the rings were being shipped back to the store without them being resized because we didn't okay the estimate. I am not only disappointed but they provide horrible customer service. Definitely do not recommend this business.

We went to all major retailers and a couple of used computer shops but had no luck. Roger at Edgar's was able to locate a used charger that worked for us. It was a little pricey ($55) for a 9 year old used charger but we were glad he had it and paid the price. The perk was playing with his massive cat that seemed to weigh 25 lbs.

Within only six months -- and after an earlier crash I barely managed to recover from -- the system became unstable and eventually had to be repaired by a different technician. I wish I had been warned that forcing Windows 11 onto older, unsupported hardware can lead to serious instability in a short period of time. Edgar clearly knows his craft, but customers -- especially seniors or those on fixed incomes -- should ask whether an upgrade is truly safe and appropriate for their specific machine.
