The T-Mobil store on Western was very happy and helpful when it came to signing us up with new phones, phone and internet service. Once that was done so was the service, they were no longer interested in dealing with customers. If you do choose to work with T-Mobile there are stores all over the city I would choose any other location than the one on Western in Chicago. read more

I experienced the worst customer experience ever, recently when I tried to activate a new phone number and order a new product. I spoke with seven different people who were lacking in customer skills and were unable to provide any assistance or support. I learned weekends are outsourced. There was communication barriers and lack of skill training. Horrible experience I will be changing my phone carrier soon. read more

I came to this location on a Wednesday evening and all I wanted to do is get my screen protector replaced. I thought the employee that was going to attend me was going to be kind and helpful. But as soon as their was a problem, he panicked and didn't know what to do. I tried to work with him and ask a few questions, but I received pure attitude for doing so. Then, his excuse was, "Sorry, I had one of those days and I'm closing." Although I completely understand, he then he asks help from a co-worker and says,"Can you help me, I want to this guy to leave already." It's been almost 24 hours since I visited this store and I'm still in disbelief... honestly, I thought I was on candid camera or something. I don't believe I've ever had worse experience in a retail environment. Went in to buy a phone. They were very nice. I was excited and a little nervous; I was about to drop $1200. They convinced me to trade-in my old phone for which they were giving me $400 and then I had to give down payment of $400. When they printed contract out it said the amount financed was $720. It didn't add up for me so I asked for explanation. When the girl working there started adding up with calculator 400+400 I only mentioned I have accounting degree and this doesn't make sense. She got extremely annoyed by me and raised her voice at me; "well, no one else has hard time understanding this when I explain it!" My jaw dropped. I said "well, it seems like I might be the dumb one. I need clearer explanation" "I've been trying to explain this to you but you keep interrupting me and asking questions" "Well I've been trying to understand that's why I ask questions. And please don't be rude to me and don't raise your voice at me. I'm a paying customer here. Even if annoyed you a bit, you don't yell at me" " no! There is no more employee-customer! I'm a person! You come in here and you can buy or not, no one is begging you to buy anything. You've been talking down to me since you came in(it beats me)." I looked at the guy standing next to her and saw that he was a manager there and I said this is not acceptable. He shrugged and said; I have not seen anything unacceptable, but you can talk to me and I'll explain everything to you" "Nope! I don't need to talk to anyone else. I didn't have a problem talking to her at all. But since this is how it is, I don't want this phone. I will even consider leaving T-Mobile all together!" Voiding transactions, deleting data transferred to the new phone, refunds took some time-no talking from anyone. When everything was done, I picked up my phone and on the way out said "have a nice day" Crickets!!! Nothing! They said nothing. Don't go there! I went into this place asking for help on transferring my info from one phone to another, all that a fat girl said was, we can't do it. You have to do it from a Google account. I notice her lazy face since I step in there and I knew she wasn't going to be much of a help, well, the manager act like he wasn't there either. No wonder they have 3 starts... The manager Jasmine is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. At point of sale when I'm about to pay for the plan I chose, she offered a different plan and I kindly refused explaining my situation and my preferences. She refused to continue with the transaction and literally kicked me out of the store. The other employee also refused to finalize the transaction because he said Jasmine is his manager. I've been a customer for many years and will be seeking a new carrier with more respectful employees. This behavior is extremely upsetting and I've never seen someone treat people this way. read more

I don't trust mobile carriers. They nickel and dime their customers at every opportunity, all while telling you what a great deal you're getting. In the past, I've dreaded walking into a mobile store for purchasing or billing questions, because the commissioned sales associates were more interested in adding additional features or accessories than actually finding the right plan for me. After years of having gigs that provided and paid for my phone, when it was time to purchase my own plan for the first time in ages I rolled the dice and walked into T-Mobile. Their recent failed merger with AT&T left the company flush with cash which they had been investing in their network, and their deals sounded solid. I picked the right store. Andy and Patrick at T-Mobile are everything good about mobile retail. They listen to your wants, ask probing questions to discern your true need, and align you with the device and plan that fits you best. They're personable, funny, and go out of their way to make sure you understand the agreement you're entering into with their company. And the next time you visit, they'll remember your name. I've sent friends and coworkers to them - and in the era of online everything, suggesting someone go out of their way to a little shop on a weird corner in a northern Chicago neighborhood is the best complement I can think of. read more

"Your phone doesn't have a problem, maybe you have a problem!?!" That was the response I got from some idiot named Andy at this store, completely unprovoked, about one minute after I walked into this location. I was not able to log into my e-mail server with my password on the phone and the phone was running blazing hot. The battery was dying within an hour without any key strokes. "This phone runs hot. You must not know the password!" I informed him that I've had the same password on the account since 1995. "Clearly you don't. I can't help you. Can I help the next customer?" "Are you going to help me?" "NO! Now get out of my store!" he screams. "What's your name?" I ask. He won't give it to me. At that point he sprints around the counter and gets right up in my face and starts screaming that he's calling the police and his friends are cops. He violently throws the door open. This was the first time in my life I've felt threatened by a store clerk. So much so that I had a police officer check out the store. (The police officer recommended Verizon.) If you can't provide basic customer service to your paying customers without losing your shit, you're in the wrong business. At the very least get some anger management training. I have used other T-Mobile retail stores without any problems (read my 5 star review of the Irving/Damen/Lincoln store.). That store and the one on Lawrence and Kimball are customer service superstars. read more

I went here today to have them buy out two out of my three current Verizon lines. Very rude and extremely unknowledgeable about the process. Referral program NOT WORKING: this could be a corporate problem but here the staff just gave me access to their computer for me to type in the referral information. Their system could not find my friend's info and he is INDEED a longtime T-Mobile customer. The manager could not answer my question regarding Verizon contract buyout (I only want them to buy out 2 out of my 3 lines). They also told me it would take DAYS to switch over but within 5 minutes after leaving the store I was left without a working phone as I needed to change my SIM card. Don't other places ACTUALLY SWAP YOUR SIM CARD AND THEN VERIFY BY CALLING YOUR NUMBER? Don't they want you to be happy and your service to work? I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon due to cost and contract but this service is ridiculous. I hope I can find a good T-Mobile store for any future needs I might have. My sister, husband, and I were on different carriers and we came in this past Labor Day weekend to take advantage of a great promo they had going on (1 star). Jeffrey was our sales rep and he was personable and patient as our switch overs took a few hours (2nd star). My husband's Samsung phone ported over with little to no problem, just a lengthy amount of time. My iPhone 5S was off the grid for a while since they did not have anymore 16GB iPhone 6's left in stock, so Jeff looked into the inventory of the T-Mobile store that's on the 2nd floor of Lincolnwood Mall (abt 15 mins away). He told me they had 12 in stock (I didn't care whether it was silver or gold). I arrive at the mall and they tell me no one has called and that they do not have any 16GB in stock. At this point, I am pretty agitated that I drove all that way and the inventory was not confirmed. So the mgr of the Lincolnwood store sends me into Skokie to yet another store that DOES have my 16GB in stock and is holding it for me! Hallelujah! Unfortunately, we were not made aware that porting over from Verizon may take anywhere between 2-48 hours, so my sister was having a mild panic attack. Yes, we all now have lower monthly bills, I must say the hoops that we had to jump through to get our phones back up and running was an all day adventure to say the least! Hopefully my savings will make up for that. read more
