On Tuesday Brian went over everything with me, he was very knowledgeable, patiently went over all of my options, and because it was the best value, I decided to get a refurbished iPhone which is done through a 3rd party. (Asurion) I know these guys probably are incentivized to sell as many new phones as possible, and even though he did bring this up, at no point did I think he was pressuring me or withholding information about the option of getting a refurbished iPhone through the warranty that I have been paying. This was outstanding customer service. Since the refurbished phones are handled by a 3rd party, the refurbished phone was shipped to me. When I tried to set it up yesterday there was 1 issue, and I was told by Asurion that the issue could only be fixed by me going to an AT&T store. Flash forward to this morning. I went back to AT&T, and Angel handled everything right away very quickly and I only had to wait 3 minutes or so before it was my turn. He was just as great as Brian, I'm not sure if one of these guys is the store manager, but whoever is in charge you guys have a great store, and hopefully I don't have any phone problems again any time soon, but if I do, I'll definitely come back to AT&T Lincolnwood. It turned out he hadn't enrolled me in autopay as I had requested (which would have got me a discount) and had signed me up for phone insurance without asking me. I had to call customer service, and they immediately removed it and signed me up for autopay. I've had good experiences with Metro as a corporate entity, but the store itself was shady with bad service, and I would stay away from it if possible. I only had to go in since I have an old phone without an eSim (which made it particularly laughable he signed me up for insurance--my phone is worth almost nothing).
