I was charged $55 for the locksmith to disassemble the locking mechanism and extract the lock cylinder. He did not have the necessary hardware to duplicate key so he took the cylinder along with the promise to return with either a new key or complete new cylinder. A few days go by and I get a text stating that he has to order a new cylinder. I asked him how much a new cylinder costs, $80 + $90 labor. This seemed a little high and prompted me to research what Locinox charges for a 46mm replacement cylinder. $6 plus instructions on how to swap out cylinder. Not only that but a brand new, identical lock kit costs $120. NOT TODAY SATAN! NOT TODAY I understand I'm paying for a service but this is price gouging at its finest. I'd hate to see anyone get duped so please heed my cautioning and try a different locksmith.

He pointed us toward where to buy new smart key fobs (I was able to get 2 remotes - 1 new & 1 used) for less than $300 - which was about half the price of any Toyota dealer who quoted me on this years ago. After giving him a call, he was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. The emergency key that came with the remotes did not fit my lock - he took one of his spare keys and made me one to match to ensure I'd have everything I needed in the future.
