This was hands down the best meal, best ambiance and best service of our 10 day New England…read moreroadtrip. Galyns was recommended to us by the local receptionist do the hotel where we were staying in Bar Harbor. We arrived for an early dinner at 5 pm and from the initial greeting we felt like we were in someone's home. Their menu is seafood heavy and inventive. We settled on a whole lobster as an appetizer ($36 market price) which was buttery, succulent and super fresh. The rice pilaf and broccolini that it came with were the perfect accompaniments. For the main course, my partner ordered a grilled salmon and I ordered the haddock with a lemon caper sauce. A week later and I"m still savoring the haddock. Flaky and slightly meaty, the sauce was just zesty and frothy to invite you back for another bite. The capers was an added touch and really brought the dish together. As far as the grilled salmon, you can't get fish fresher than what we had. The hostess was kind enough to steer me through a refresher course on how to crack and eat lobster (with a big on of course!). The waiter was skilled and professional, knowing when to interject, provide suggestions and provide options to make our overall experience even better. I would definitely return and can't say enough good things about the restaurant. Happy eating and bon appetit!

Our server was Enniko and she was excellent. Friendly and helpful. And the ambience really couldn't be beat as we were eating out on the deck just over the water

The…read morelobsters were incredibly fresh, with soft, buttery meat that practically melted in every bite. Paired with sweet corn on the cob, it was the perfect combination. Sitting outside overlooking the ocean beside the Harborside Marina made the experience even better--the coastal views, salty breeze, and fresh seafood created the quintessential Bar Harbor dining experience. Coastal Dip (not pictured): A warm, creamy seafood dip loaded with lobster, shrimp, and other seafood, served with crispy tortilla chips. It's rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing before your main course. Oysters: These were a bit disappointing. About half tasted fresh and briny, while the others didn't seem as fresh, making for a mixed experience overall. Looking back, I probably would've skipped the oysters and ordered another lobster dish or their famous lobster roll instead. Blueberry Pie: For $14, this wasn't my favorite. The blueberry filling was a little too sweet for my taste. The buttery crust paired nicely with the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I don't think it justified the price. I'd save room for something else next time. Cocktails: They have several refreshing cocktail options, but my favorite was definitely the Country Thyme Lemonade. It had a sweet, refreshing lemonade flavor with tequila and other ingredients blended together, and it was served in a beautiful glass that made it feel extra special. The Blueberry Smash wasn't for me--it had an herbal flavor that reminded me a bit of a cleaning product, so I preferred the lemonade by far. Overall, if you're looking for fresh Maine lobster with beautiful waterfront views in Bar Harbor, this is a great place to stop. The lobster is the star of the meal, so I'd stick with the classics and enjoy the scenery. In terms of service, our server was very nice and helpful. I'd be careful though because they aren't organized about their servers - they have one named Mario who came up to our table and started flirting w the girl and it was unacceptable while the family was in the bathroom so I'd say watch out for that.
