Starting off, the numbing szechuan chicken was my least favorite of the dishes - the pieces of chicken were really tiny and there were a lot of peppercorns. I wish they made the pieces of chicken slightly larger as it was irritating to slowly pick it out towards the end of finishing it. Now, what went well were the stone pot with the fish. Normally not a huge fan of fish, so if I can enjoy eating fish a place has done well in preparing it. The soup was really flavorful and everyone at my table enjoyed it. The sweet and sour pork was also nice. The breading was crispy and the sauce had a nice tangy flavor to it and the texture was interestingly satisfying. The grilled beef ribs and bao buns were one of my favorite. The beef rib was very tender and went well with the buns and condiments that were provided.

No one asked if we wanted dessert and the check came. Should I have dropped the stars for that? Not this time.

Like there were no wait staff in the dining room.. actually there was 1 but she never comes to the tables. We ordered three dishes and only one of them tasted okay. The other two tasted horribly bad.. We got: Chongqing diced chicken with dried chili - it tasted okay, a very standard Szechuan dish Squirrel fish - fish was not fresh, sauce was full of food coloring and tasted artificial. We had so much left over and didn't even wanna take it with us. Drunken spare ribs - ribs were all bad parts, like the parts that are full of fats and tendon, the parts with messed up bones When we were ready to pay our bill, a lady finally walked out and greeted us looking like she just woke up from her nap, and waited next to me until she took the bill back with signed tips. Lemon water at your table. The appetizers were just ok, fried pork lacked much flavor and the brown sugar glutinous rice cake wasn't as good as elsewhere. Free side dishes of black mushrooms (not much flavor) and the pickled daikon (this was good, a little spicy). The aromatic hot oil and suancai fish was excellent, more than enough for one person (plus maybe one). You can swap out the two veggies with other choices but I liked the lettuce and baby nappa. Golden soup suancai and fish was more sour for those who liked it that way - tomato looked good, too, fragrant (not spicy). The spicy on the others was just a light spice, more ma la than anything. I mentioned to her that a couple places in Flushing sell crawfish Chinese style and she wanted to try. Did a search on Yelp and saw someone recently raved about the crawfish here. Every order of crawfish comes in 2lbs and we ordered the spiced flavored one. This crawfish gets an A++. Little one loved the flavors and freshness. So tasty. Not only that, but these were probably the biggest crawfish we've ever seen! Even the claws had meat! We also loved how they chopped off the top of the head to removed the "filter". We also ordered a couple small dishes to try. For cold apps we ordered the pigs ear and okra. We love the crunchy texture of the pigs ear and the more we ate it, the more addicting it got to eat. Okra was also a bit. For the skewers, we ordered the lamb beef and intestine. Honestly the lamb and beef skewers were probably the worst ones we've ever tried. It was a struggle to finish them. The meat was tasteless, hard and overcooked. No fat ratio at all. The pig intestines were perfectly cooked. Love when it's crispy. We love finding a place that's been around that's actually a huge hit for us. We will be back. If you spend $120, they will gift you a huge carafe of passion fruit tea.

They have options for the flavor of the broth/grilled fish including mala spicy, spicy tofu (comes with soft tofu), garlic, tomato, and more. Their menu also includes appetizers and other entrees including crawfish and shrimp. For appetizers, we tried the grilled fish tofu skewer, cold tofu with preserved duck egg, and grilled eggplant with garlic. I would recommend all of these appetizers. This spot is a slightly more elevated and nicely decorated with warm and friendly service. I ordered a Sichuan classic, twice cooked pork, and a new dish I've never seen before, snow pea leaves in broth. The twice cooked pork was a fantastic iteration of this dish. The pork was sliced thin with the perfect amount of chew which paired well texturally with the soft, buttery leeks. The flavor was so well balanced while being heavily seasoned and the smoky wok hei flavor really comes through. The snow pea leaves were soft and silky with tender stems, and they came served in a golden broth with some mushrooms, juicy tomato and snappy pieces of black fungus. The dish is topped with a century egg. I found the broth itself to have a bit of a grainy texture when sipped. I've tried century egg in the past and while I'm not disgusted by it, I never quite felt like I understand the ingredient until eating this dish. The creamy, funky flavor of the egg reminds me of blue cheese and it pairs very well with the subtle flavors of the snow pea leaves and amplifies the richness of the broth. I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to return with a group to try more of the Sichuan classics on the menu.
