Received food poisoning and seems owners have changed. Food tasted off and 1 side and 2 entrees for $50 is not worth it

Came here recently after finding out this place had recently opened, replacing whatever it was before (honestly forgot since this location changes so much) Szechuan Kitchen is located on the South side of the Albertson's shopping center off Flamingo and Durango. As the name suggests, has a lot of Szechuan dishes, so lots of spiciness ! We had decided to go "family style" and order a few things to try. Initially was a little surprised at the pricing being a little high but had quickly been surprised again at how large the portions are, justifying their pricing. SPICY BOILED FISH FILET IN SICHUAN CHILI SAUCE 水煮鱼 ($18.00) A very classic dish that most sichuan style restaurant would serve with mild variations to the sauce. Often has different protein options like beef or pork kidney like this restaurant has or some other restaurants would have maybe chicken, pork, or even pork intestines (sad, this is my fav). Their version is tasty and the fish is very soft and tender. On the bottom has slices of napa cabbage as well STIR-FRIED PORK KIDNEY 火爆腰花 ($18.00) Another classic dish using slices of pork kidney with cuts in each slice to offer tenderness and ability to hold seasonings/sauce. Cooked with lots of wood ear mushrooms, celery, and bok choy. Kind of a YMMV dish if you like to eat organs or not. Their version is saucy. I've also had dry seasoned versions. To each their own. Still tasty nonetheless DRY POT CAULIFLOWER WITH PORK BELLY ($17.00) Huge mountain of chinese cauliflower and slices of pork belly. Simple but tasty dish. I liked the cauliflower but the pork belly was a bit on the drier end. Unsure what i would change on this. Maybe thicker/smaller cuts of pork belly vs the current large slices? Note - Steamed white rice is $1.00 PER SERVING Very friendly staff who checks up on you regularly and refills your water. Also accomadates easily for splitting the bill as well. Nice place near my house to pick up food from since it's so close and large portions. Hope they last longer than those who has been at this location in the past !

Simply put this is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Las Vegas. We were very excited to hear the owners opened this location close to us. Our go to dishes are sweet and sour pork, cong you ji, maoxuewang. You will not be disappointed. It is a new restaurant with friendly service and a fresh look inside. They also have carry out which we have done as well!

What a hidden gem! I enjoyed every dish I tried here. I especially loved their fish and eggplants. The service was excellent. I will definitely come back for their fish filets!!!

Their spicy level is authentic and I don't think a lot of people can handle it. If you think you have the guts to challenge authentic schechuan spiciness then you should try this place out. Be prepared to have some milk by your side when you eat their dishes. We ordered to-go and our whole friend group loved it.

Very authentic Szechuan cuisine with large portion. Prices are much better than in Chinatown. Very friendly staffs. Easy going & clean environment. Hard to find such nice restaurant with good value! Very happy & for sure will visit more

I am definitely gonna give this place a second try. The dishes we all tried had a lot of flavor, and if you're not used to it, it can be overwhelming. Everything was excellent and the service was also very good for a new spot. This is a place that has promise. We tried 2 noodle dishes and a beef dish that should be eaten with rice. Due to the spices and chili's, there was quite a lot of oil on the dishes, so if you're not familiar, it can be surprising. However, everything was still excellent. And even The leftovers we took home were of high quality. The inside is decorated very nicely, and everything is very clean.

More like a solid 4.5 The flavor profile here is amazing. They definitely know their szechuan taste. Fried Chicken in Dried Chili is appropriately spicy and the fish in sour pickle fish soup is so tender and well seasoned. This is a surprising find, and this Summerlin location helps us to save time to travel to Chinatown for chinese food. The texture is a little miss (like green beans are a little mushy and chicken is a little less crunchy than expected). But it may be due to takeout process. Cant wait to enjoy this fresh in restaurant. The green beans dish can be a little less oily though. And sour pickle fish soup can be more sour.

Really nice waitress. Food comes out fast. This location has been a lot of different restaurants but this one has been the best. It's definitely Szechuan and spicy. It's not for the faint of heart. The portions are huge. Can't wait to come back to try other items. Probably best to pair some non spicy items next time. Thank goodness the waitress refilled the water regularly.

Highly recommend if you like Szechuan food. Was in the mood for some mouth numbing deliciousness and saw this was recently opened (about a month ago). We ordered 5 dishes and all were so good! I definitely have my favorites (the thinly sliced spicy beef, and the spicy fish in broth). Spice level was perfect and it definitely had me clearing out my sinuses lol. You get plenty of food for the price. We even had enough for my lunch the next day! Service was attentive and quick.

Finally! AUTHENTIC Szechuan cuisine in Vegas! As a family from Szechuan, we're absolutely thrilled to have discovered THE most authentic Szechuan restaurant in Las Vegas! The owner/chef from Chengdu trained at the region's premier culinary school - and his expertise shows in every single dish. Two visits in, and we're blown away. The Twice Cooked Pork? Perfection. The authentic ingredients transported us straight home. Our second visit featured Spicy Boiled Fish Fillet in Sichuan Chili Sauce, Stir-Fried Pork Kidney (the BEST we've had outside China!), Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, and freshly made Brown Sugar Tofu Pudding that actually surpassed what we've had in Szechuan itself! The wonderful staff is friendly, attentive, and their recommendations are spot-on. They truly understand their menu and are eager to help. We're so grateful for this gem of a restaurant! It's not just a meal - it's a taste of home that we'll be savoring again and again. Thank you for bringing authentic Szechuan cuisine to Vegas with such passion and skill!

Food was delicious but was a little too salty. I told my waiter about it. He was really nice and welling to make me another but we didn't. They give you a good portion for the price. It's our first time there. Definitely will be returning there again. Customers service was good and the ambiance was just ok to me. It is more like good for local.

    小辣牛肉絲

Their dishes are delicious. The portions are very generous. The waiter and waitress are very friendly. The prices are quite reasonable. I would definitely go back to this restaurant again to try their other dishes.

Our BILL! my daughter and I love the mustard green fish, the sauce was so flavorful, we had to other another one. absolutely delicious

Sadly for Vegas, anything that taste like Chinese food, that is not great, but not horrible would be a 4 stars. Nothing has been on par to 4 stars LA (which is 5 stars here), which has much more competition, more ppl cultured in the food, and has a larger dense community to judge/higher expectations of their own cultural cuisine. This place would be a Vegas 4 star, except all the sand and pebbles we kept eating. I'm very sure it can be a 4 star in Vegas. Many places that don't even taste like Chinese food still get 4 stars by ppl. Chinese food is expensive in Vegas because there isn't much of a community here, and both tourists and many locals don't know what it's supposed to taste like. 17. A-Choy, Garlic $15.99. - This has a bit of sand in it. Not cleaned well. 10. Spicy snails $9.99. This is already premixed so you can not customize on the spicy level. - The snails are super tiny. The taste was medium spicy, with herbal hint of flavor I like. - This has A LOT of sand in it. Not correctly purged/cleaned. More than 90% of it had sand in it :/ Like alot of sand, not just tiny amounts in each one. On top of it, it's like tiny pebbles too. This dish is NOT edible. 3. Wok-Fried Pork Kidney and Liver $22.99. We asked for small spicy which translates to mild. SO enjoyed this. This dish normally is just too salty for my tastebuds which is normal. But at least it's not as salty, and taste better than Special Noodle Restaurant (a restaurant I'm not a fan of). I am interested in trying out a lot more dishes. I'm actually full of hope for this place. Because there really isn't that many decent places, I'm open to mistakes like sand, less clean process, etc. Doesn't mean I'll eat the sand. We'll just to find the dishes that's better. But everything tastes on point. :( Beggars can't be choosers.

On social media I've been seen this restaurant "China Mama" been popping up when I browse my Instagram, so today I was set on having lunch at this establishment. When I walked through doors, I was fascinated at the interior design of the place, the walls, tables and lighting because it had an atmosphere of exclusivity in a foodie type of way however at the same time the staff and service was impeccable and very welcoming to newcomers. What I noticed when I sat down is the teapot, the plates and the menu, the reason why I mentioned those things is because in a typical chinese restaurant, you see a white/red plastic plate with a chinese design on the front of the plate with teapots and teacups that have some residue on them. Along with a sticky menu book that sounds like velcro when you pull the pages apart. Rest assured because the dining set at this restaurant is nothing like that and the level of detail the manager or owner put it in must be applauded because it displays that they care for their customers and uphold the highest level of sanitation. The plates and the teapot were immaculate and also the menu was colorful and clear where I didn't know what dish I wanted to pick because I was so astonished with how vibrant the menu was designed. For new restaurants I always conduct my version of a litmus test regarding food. For chinese restaurants I order fried rice and whatever special pork dish they have on hand to gauge the type of quality I can expect. I will say this, I've had homecook fried rice, traditional fried rice and my goodness is this fried rice really spot on when it comes to flavor, seasoning and cook temperature. I order the shrimp egg fried rice and everything was delicious from the star of the dish being the shrimp to the vegetables. The blend was so harmonious that I was silently eating and lost track of time due to it being cooked to perfection. Secondly, I ordered the twice cooked pork with spicy sauce and the tenderness of the pork was so heavenly I indulge in more after more, even when I was full, my body was pushing my hand to eat more because I subconsciously didn't want the sensation of the umami to fade. I have never had a pork dish like that in a chinese restaurant. It's a far drive from where I currently reside so ontop of the lunch I had I decided to order to dish for to go so I can have the experience again for dinner. I order the pan fried pork dumplings along with signature salted egg yolk prawns. As much as I want to encourage people to try the restaurants I share on reviews, I secretly want to keep this restaurant to myself and just keep it hidden so it dosent get packed in the near future where I have to fight over reservations. That being said, whomever is looking for the best pound for pound chinese restaurant in Las Vegas? CHINA MAMA is THE best hidden secret in this city. It was a wonderful experience and it will not be the last time I visit this extraordinary establishment. Update: I took my mom, brother and sister to try this restaurant that I have been endorsing. Let me tell you how the popularity of this restaurant skyrocketed. I got there at 11:30, put my name down for a wait list not even 5 minutes has passed and 4 more people came in to put their name down. After a 20 minute wait there was an additional 12 names that were on the wait list. Service was so fast, and the pan fried pork buns was informed to us that it would take 45 min to a hour to make, of course we ordered appetizer, entrées, to be served to us when it's ready, so in the mean time we can have some food in our belly before the pork buns but that gors to show how popular that food item is and how its taken off. The waiter that waited our table was so excellent that we tipped him 30%, he was amazing. He's chinese with black frame glassess.
