Staying by the airport and Szechuan is a short ride if you have a rental car. Located in a strip mall from the outside does not look like much but the inside is modern and comfortable. The only issue I had is they had a TV playing very loud much that took a bit to get over. Moving on the food was spectacular and started with Pork Belly in hot garlic sauce and truly enjoyed the texture and flavor. It's a cold dish but well worth the try. Moving on ordered Crispy & Spicy Tofu and Hot Spicy Beef Chow Mein. Both were really good. The tofu was a little drive but chili oil on it and that fixed it for me. More like 3.5 stars but I'll round up to 4 since it'd be sad to round down. We ordered 16 items for takeout at a certain time. By calling to place the order, each dish is about $1 cheaper than if you order online from the google site. After I called, I got a text message with status updates which was really cool. Food was ready right on time for the time slot I wanted. Dishes that were good: Short ribs like the Garlic Short Ribs and the Short Ribs in Brown Sugar. General Tso's Chicken. Mongolian beef. Dishes that were meh: beef and broccoli (broccoli was overcooked, too soft), the Black Mushroom in Vegetable was oily. Baby Bak Choy in white sauce was greasy-ish. Pork in Peking sauce was waaay overcooked and tough. Orange Chicken was not great. For a large takeout, it's convenient and the prices are fair. But nobody cared for the food in our party. read more

We had a bad experience with service recently, with one of the new waiter who kept making snappy comments, extra long wait for menu after we sat down, and forgetting a dish we ordered until we were done eating. With that said, food-wise, portion has gotten smaller even though the price of each dish remains about the same, and presentation is better. It's almost full when we walked in right after 5PM on a Saturday night. Dishes I recommend: +Spicy Chingqing Chicken (4/5 stars, 3/5 spicy) - even though it's boneless chicken, it's got good flavor. They also out a few deep-fried green beans inside, which isn't bad. +Honey Walnut Shrimp (4/5 stars) - this is one of the dishes that has good presentation, aka came inside a fried taco shell. A traditional sweet mayo sauce covers deep-fried shrimp and walnuts. Both adults and kids can enjoy this dish. +Mapo Tofu (4/5 stars, 3.5/5 spicy) - this classic dish goes well with rice. It's spicy, numbing and flavorful. +Chicken fried rice (4/5 stars, non-spicy) - this dish is a hit amongst kids. It's dark from the soy sauce, but not too salty. Dish I don't recommend: -Cumin lamb (3/5 stars, 2/5 spicy) - even though the price is reasonable for a lamb dish, there is very little lamb and mostly onion in this dish. This place is my go to whenever i am in south! Located next to the 99 ranch market (not inside) but next block. There are plenty of parking spots in the lot. The restaurant does get busy during peak hours people dining in or to-going food. I feel like this place is more affordable than other Sichuan places i've been to. And portion size is great! I work nearby and I love coming here for lunch. You just can't find a better deal for the price they offer for lunch special. My colleagues always order the eggplant and tofu and swears its the best. I always order the Szechuan Beef. Lunch special comes with your choice of hot and sour soup or egg soup and fried rice or white rice. I truly believe that a Chinese restaurant that can't make a good hot and sour soup and fried rice cannot make anything right (I've been pretty spot on so far in the last 20 years). I love the hot and sour soup here and their friend rice is good. If you love spicy food, make sure to request above 3 pepper rating. Service is very fast during lunch and the ambiance is nice. I am adding my original review below: What a great spot in the south end (close to Great Wall). The employees are very friendly and the service is fast. I went with a group of 4 others and we got 6 dishes and still had left overs. The prices are good and the food is cheap! We came in around 6 and the restaurant was pretty empty - only 1/2 other tables. We ordered: hot and sour soup, crispy chicken in hot garlic sauce, dried cooked string bean, ma po tofu, Mongolian beef, and hot & spicy beef chow mein. Everything was excellent and fresh. The flavor was there and as I previously stated the portions were large! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a staple in the south end. Despite the craze with Szechuan cuisine, I'll admit I'm usually not a big fan of the numbing effect from Szechuan peppercorns. But this place was definitely the exception, and I loved everything we tried. We came here on Christmas Eve while visiting family from out of town. The restaurant was pretty packed, but they were able to seat our party of 7 immediately. Service was quick and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable for how much food we ordered. A few of my favorites from the night that I recommend trying: * Chongqing Chicken - Perfectly fried with the right amount of heat, and not too overwhelming with the numbing spice. * Garlic Sauce Eggplant - My absolute favorite. The sauce was so flavorful, I literally sopped up every last drop with rice. * Salt & Pepper Shrimp - I was so happy to see they offered this without the shells! We came in as a party of 5 and ordered some kung pao beef, sweet and sour shrimp, lo mein, rice, tea and water. Overall the food was okay. It felt family run and probably their own recipes but didn't have a lot of flavor, a tad bit bland and fine. The service was good. They were attentive. Promptly greeted and shown to a booth, the interior was very clean and well laid out. We started with 12 Piece Seafood Wonton Soup which was enough for 2 to share. Well, I returned, was further disappointed and this is how it all went down. I was crystal clear with my server, I wanted the spiciest chicken dish. She told me they could make any dish spicy and suggested the Crispy Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce, I chose that as my lunch special with steamed rice and hot and sour. I first got nervous when she told me the fried rice would be special and I had to repeat, steamed rice, not fried. The hot and sour soup was also just sour. Again, the chili oil on the table has zero heat, so I had to rely on soy sauce to offset the overwhelming vinegar taste. When the entrée came, it looked amazing, but on my first bite, I already knew where my review was going. Again, it was Crispy Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce. This was semi crisp chicken in vinegar and sugar. I didn't taste any garlic, it was a zero on the heat scale and again, way too my vinegar, especially when I wasn't expecting any. It was disgusting and after a couple bites, I just pushed the plate back. My server noticed, asked if I liked the meal and I said no. She then told me, I should have tried the Mongolian Chicken. Well, this place is all out of tries, it seriously is on the level of grocery store Chinese food and truth be told, I'd give Safeway another shot before these guys. The egg flower soup tasted awful and was also overloaded with starch. The 3 dishes we ordered, (mixed vegetables, green beans with pork, and Mongolian chicken), all came swimming in enough oil where oil was the overwhelming taste in all three. The cumin lamb was really tender and the onions were nicely fried while maintaining their crisp. It was also affordable. The soup was really hearty and hit the spot. We've tried many Chinese restaurants and dishes at teriyaki restaurants and found that this style Chinese food is the one we've been looking for. It's also one of the better Chinese restaurants I've had in the area. Their dishes are very flavorful and spicy. The servings are good and match up with the prices. Things are getting better here for me. Stopping by more often for lunch when in the area. I'd try it for dinner sometime with family but we don't live nearby. This time I ordered hot and sour soup with black pepper beef and fried rice. The soup is excellent with just the right balance of vinegar and white pepper and lots of goodies. I imagine the large entree size of this soup would have more meat?? The pepper beef was good albeit slightly oily. Good flavor and lots of bell peppers and onions. Haven't been here for awhile and the first thing I noticed was the remodeling. Nicer tables and brighter lighting. More modern feel than their original "Mom n pop" type of feel before. When we asked if they changed ownership, they said no ... So ??? Service was typical Chinese service. They only interacted with us when they took our order, served our dishes and gave us the check. They never came by to check up on us during our meal. We ordered our 2 usual dishes. Kung Pao Chicken and mapo tofu. I thought the mapo tofu was pretty tasty. The kung Pao Chicken was a bit different. It was on the sweet side but I liked it. Overall, I thought the whole visit and meal was fine. Yes it's in an odd location with misleading labeling on the front, but let the food and price do all the talking. The service won't let you down. And there is plenty of parking. Made it easy for me to find a fish based dish with flavors I was craving. The inside was clean and had an appropriate theme, but it was visually a bit out dated. It's a smaller to mid sized venue. Booths on the left and right sides, normal dining tables in the center, registers and kitchen in the back. Nothing to complain about. My highlight was the actual food. They actually took time to make it look more than presentable. I enjoyed the way they added the seasoning and topping. Allowed me to visually see how fresh the ingredients were before mixing it all in. Yes the ingredients all looked and tasted fresh. And the spice. It was the Szechuan spice and tingle I was looking for. There are many places that have prices like this but very few Szechuan spots at this price serve food this darn good and with level of quality and love. I came here starving after exercising. I don't live nearby, so I ordered a bunch planning to take home leftovers. Wonderful service, a clean restaurant, and a great family/calm vibe. The portions brought a smile to my face! I got the Szechuan boiled fish, stir fried pork and dry bean curd, and stir fried string beans with chicken. Everything was delicious. 10/10 recommend. I am not the biggest fan of Chinese food but my boyfriend is. I was hoping this might be a nice compromise since the menu has SO many options. I got the lamb and Dan Dan noodles. He got the Szechuan chicken with rice. We had SO MUCH FOOD. I was so happy with the lamb. I personally love chillis, onion, and chilli seed oils and it was loaded up. Everything was tender, seasoned well, and fast. The noodles were a bit spicy for him but I loved them. For $40 we had dinner there and 2+ rounds of leftovers.
