System Pavers just finished installing pavers in our yard and it turned out beautiful! From our initial meeting with Hunter, the Design Consultant at the time, to working with our Project Manager Max, and closing project out with Rafael who jumped in to help out when Max got injured, System Pavers was knowledgeable, responsive, professional, and ensured the quality of their work was to our liking. This is a great start to our full yard remodel. We would definitely use System Pavers again for future projects and highly recommend. read more

Had a great experience from initial planning to onsite execution. Hunter was a fantastic first point of contact and, really, project architect/planner all in one. And the onsite execution crew, remotely coordinated and overseen by Rafael, was super professional, hard working and detail oriented. Onsite crew leader Andres deserves a special shout out for leading by example with high integrity and doing a fantastic job all around. Highly recommend. read more

System pavers transformed our backyard. For 24 years, when we looked out the back door we'd see our home's 1968 cement patio. Cracked, discolored, old. We were worried the pavers would not go well with the house's brick, but were surprised by the huge number of choices System Paver showed us. Robert, the manager and designer, came up with a very attractive and practical way of covering ground that grass has never grown on. He and Rafael, the construction manager, were meticulous about drainage. We had always struggled with standing water and mosquitoes, but they created a system that drains completely regardless of how much rain we get. Every person who worked here was hardworking, respectful and positive - from the managers to the crew who gave 100% digging, putting in pipes and pavers.... I recommend System Pavers. Someday we will do the front of the house, and we will definitely go to them. read more

The System Pavers team did an amazing job transforming my front porch and walkway. Rafael came up with a great solution for working around my uneven lot and the result surpassed expectations. We had a great experience with system pavers. We worked with Rafael who was proactive with communication and made the whole experience low stress for us. Our dog loved him too. We had some self inflicted project cost creep as we extended the scope of the project beyond the initial design. In inspections Rafael and his colleague were quick to point out imperfections they wanted to fix. It took several tries to get everything perfect but overall we are very happy with the results. The construction team worked quickly and unobtrusively. Excluding scope expansion, 95% was finished in two weeks time. read more

System Pavers is the white glove treatment option for any back yard project. I was handheld the entire way with a broad team from project management to construction manager. Our construction manager Luke Yoder was regularly onsite, communicated well, and even was immediate to help repair a minor damage caused by the workers. I'll miss having the System Pavers team around! read more

Not sure why this firm is getting such good ratings... System Pavers was one of several firms I contacted for some landscaping/hardscaping. Most were local - where I definitely had better luck - but I wanted to make sure I was touching all the options. Here was my experience and why I ultimately went with someone else. Scheduling wasn't too hard and the rep showed up on time. I noticed he brought a bag which had several binders and was kind of curious about that. Never seen that before in a hardscape guy. The meeting starts with the sales guy informing me they're the biggest provider in the nation which is what their prices are so good. Not sure if they are the biggest but their ego seemed to be. I described what I wanted in detail as he listened and made a few minor notes. What was odd is that everyone else I talked to had a conversation with me. For example, 'you want it like this?' or, 'you mean going in that direction?' as in they were actually listening. Not Mr Paver. When I was done, the first thing he told me was that I couldn't do it the way I wanted and would have to end up doing a large section of impervious cover using (guess what?) system pavers. No discussion on option or alternatives. Since I was green before it was cool I was not interested in this option at all but but no discussion could get him off of this. We then got into pricing and even though I'd already determined they weren't a fit I was curious about cost. We then played a long game of 'what do you think it will cost?' 'if you sign today I may get a break' or 'let me check this deal with my boss.' Honestly, felt like I was buying a used car. I declined all the options around pricing and ignored the follow-up emails and was very happy with another vendor I chose. As I said, I am not sure if System Pavers is the biggest or not, but, based on my experience I would not recommend them. Not only did the rep not really listen, but the majority of the time was spent convincing me to do a deal "now." For the record, theirs was the highest estimate I received even though the opening line was. "we can't do what you want." Enough said. read more

System Pavers gave us a good quote after another service tried a high pressure tactic claiming the quote special was good for one day only. System Pavers gave us a better price and also the assurance that the job would be everything promised by the first outfit. Our job was relatively small at 200 Sq ft. and finished in one day. We loved the work and now over half a year later we love it even more. They are a professional company and their work is top quality. read more

Incredible service from the design phase all the way to completion. The two projects we contracted were well executed and thanks to the administrator Kayla, scheduling was a breeze and completion of the project was timely. Luke and Cole were our Design Consultant and Construction Supervisor respectively. Just so easy to work with and you can tell instantly that they know their stuff. Cole was able to help me make decisions "on the fly" over a couple of obstacles which arose during the construction phase which resulted in the sweet little wall you see in some of the photos. The extra work was done at no cost to us. I think this is what sets this company above the others on the design/construction sell. It's clear these are folks are pros. Manuel was the site supervisor for our project and is 100% customer focused. He and his crew definitely went above and beyond in terms of job focus and task completion. In the end, they left us with artisan level work and a cleanup so complete, it's like they were never here. Oh and one last thing.... Tell Luke I still hate his truck... :-) read more

Tl;dr: This company lied to us to get us to sign the contract, damaged our property and took weeks to repair it, insulted my 71 year old mother to her face, and told us that doing the job to code would cost more than our contract allotted for. We used this company to build out a big patio in our backyard, so that we could put in a hot tub, and have our grill further from the door. They were well reviewed, and the project manager seemed very personable. The job was estimated to take about a week. It took more than 4 months. The job involved digging out an area, lining it with sand, putting in stones, and putting sand between the stones. Also, they needed to run a pipe under the patio for the electrical cord for the hot tub. Before we signed the contract, we were told that they would come out and replace the sand for free as it wore out, for up to 20 years. And also, that he would throw in polymeric sand to go in between the stones. In short, polymeric sand is "the good stuff" that binds together better than regular sand. So we signed the contract. The work crew and the project manager had communication problems right away. The project manager said it was his first time working with this work crew, but the work crew said this manager screwed up communication on every project they'd worked on, so we were getting lied to by someone. After the patio was in place, we noticed they didn't have the pipe running under the patio like we asked. This angered the work crew, who apparently hadn't heard about this, even though it was on the contract and diagram. So instead of burying it under the porch, they dug a 3 inch deep trench all the way around the backyard instead. In the process of laying the stones, they cracked our sprinkler system, which we discovered when we ran the sprinklers and had a geyser. So in the middle of a Texas summer, we turned off the sprinkler for a week, waiting for them to come fix it, watering all our plants and grass by hand. After the spent 5 minutes fixing that, we found another geyser, another crack they had caused...but they didn't want to come back to fix that until we begged for three weeks. 3 more weeks of hand watering during a Texas summer. Despite our best efforts, many plants died. When he finally did show up, he didn't tell us he was coming, and my 71 year old mother discovered him working in the backyard by accident, and working nowhere near where the crack was. She tried to tell him where the crack was, and he set everything down to get in her face and tell her that she "wasn't nice." No idea where that came from. They had put in a drain, but it wasn't near where the water actually pooled up on the new patio, but we couldn't get a response from them for months. During that time another yard guy came along to work on other things, and noticed that we had the wrong kind of sand on our patio, it wasn't the polymeric sand we were promised. And the pipe they had barely put in the ground had actually come back up on one patch. That's when we also learned that for a pipe carrying an electrical cord, it wasn't deep enough, it wasn't to code, and would need to be redone. More than a month went by with no word from them. Then we were contacted by a new person who said that our project manager was fired, and he was going to finish the job. He wouldn't give us the polymeric sand we were promised, because it wasn't in the contract, and that would be an upcharge. So I will be resanding the patio myself. He also said that we were lied to about them resanding the patio for free, that would also be a fee anytime they did it. I asked them to fix the drain, which they eventually did, and to rebury the pipe, which they refused to do. I ended up having to talk to the Project Manager's boss, who told us that burying the pipe to code would cost more, and wasn't in the original contract. We had only requested that they run a pipe under the patio, which they agreed to, apparently we ALSO had to specify that we wanted it done to code. I asked him why they would agree to do work not to code, and I was told that was why they had fired the project manager. They feel very strongly that firing the project manager forgives their company for lying to us, insulting us, and not finishing the job, when I'll have to resand the patio myself, and we'll have to pay another company to rebury the pipe to code. No consideration, no attempt to make things right, no attempt to even meet us halfway on anything. We were lied to in order to get us to sign the contract, after that, we were just suckers that they would do the absolute bare minimum for. At one point, before the drain was fixed, which was the one thing they agreed to do, the new project manager was repeatedly badgering my mother to sign a paper saying that the job was done and we were happy, even though it wasn't, and we weren't. I can't help but feel like he wouldn't have tried this if I had been in town, but saw my elderly mother as easy pickings. read more

We just had System Pavers complete a $20K project in our back yard. First rep came and reviewed the area and measured the space. He came back with a diagram and $$ quote within a couple days and we loved it. He talked about financing and we were able to handle that while he was here. Next came a phone call from a project coordinator who talked to us about billing and project start. A site manager then contacted us to do a walk-thru and ensure he understood our needs. Within a few days the first crew arrived to start demo on existing landscaping. They didn't speak English and immediately started working in the wrong area. Luckily, I was there to catch them and redirect their work. No real harm was done. The next day the same two guys showed up to continue work and then disappeared within an hour. I contacted the site manager and he assured me he was working on it and that they would send extra guys the next day to make up for lost time. (As it turns out, the work crews are all subcontractors and subject to their own schedules). The next day, the site manager and a few more guys showed up and really got going. The site manager looked at the pavers which were delivered a day or two prior and recognized that some of them were incorrect colors. He handled that himself and had new pavers delivered within a day or two. The site manager even discussed a couple changes to the original design which made it even better without changing the cost. They broke a couple irrigation pipes during the demo, but they were fixed very quickly. They then started laying pavers and that took a couple days as we had some odd shapes which required cutting many pavers. They ran out of one color and had to order some extra which the foreman hand delivered within a day or two and finished the project shortly thereafter. Overall, there were a couple snags, but the project (which was quoted as a two week completion) only took about six work days from start to finish. The project turned out great and they left the area very clean. Definitely recommend System Pavers! read more

From start to finish they were incredibly professional and were very accommodating to our budget and what we wanted to do. The crew worked much faster than expected! Rafael was our PM and was super communicative throughout the process so we knew exactly what was going on and could be involved in all the little decisions along the way. Where do I begin? This was a disaster almost from the start. System pavers was the most expensive quote we got for our patio (over $18,000), but the only company that offered a 25 year warranty, so we paid more...expecting more. Well, we got nothing but headaches. To begin, the communication was non existent, they project manager that came out never got back to us, wouldn't respond to any follow up texts, and we waited 2 weeks before calling the office to see what the problem was. Well, that PM was no longer there. So nobody informed us? We had to send unanswered texts and call ourselves to find that out? Then, they delivered 7 pallets of pavers before 6:30 in the morning, never letting us know, not coming to the door, just put them right on our 2 week old newly sodded grass, then pulled the forks of the forklift out, and tore up our newly planted grass. They did bring us new sod to replace it, but we had to pay to have it re planted. Then, after 3 people had been out to measure and make sure everything was correct, the installation crew leader explained, after the started, we had a slope of 14" and needed a retaining wall to support this. The first 3 agreed we only had a 3" lift, and no retaining wall was needed. Then after delayed completion I tipped each worker (7 of them) $50 cash for doing what we thought was a good job. One week later we went on vacation, and my mother in law calls us to inform us the border of the patio is coming apart (pictures included). Come to find out, the skipped one of the most important steps, by not concreting the border! With the weight of all the sand they used, of course it is going to separate the pavers if no concrete is used. After 3 weeks, they came out and fixed the issue. Although many parts are still very uneven and it's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, we just don't want them out anymore, the stress of this whole project is too much. The old saying of you get what you pay for doesn't always ring true. I would not recommend system pavers to do any projects you're thinking about. Just a nightmare of an experience. read more

Overall our experience was good with System Pavers, albeit not quite great. We are ultimately impressed with the look of the patio but I'm not 100% convinced of the longevity of the workmanship. First off, our PM, Travis, was absolutely fantastic to work with. One of the most communicative project managers I've ever worked with and I work with PMs all the time, daily. That was the best part of the experience. The design options and customizations were about 90% on par with our expectations, although we would have liked additional options from our designer for a pathway we ended up doing on a DIY basis, based on his recommendation. In hindsight this is something System Pavers could have included in the project, of course at a cost (we'd expect nothing less), resulting in a 100% complete patio experience. We had to hire this out separately, rather than doing it DIY ultimately. Pricing - SP is a little on the high side but on the one hand, you get what you pay for. We had absolutely perfect pavers installed, which can be tough considering they are all smashed together on a pallet prior to installation. The crew did a great job of inspecting each one in detail, before laying it. The crew was great, with one major exception and another minor exception... About 70% through the project, temps fell below 20 degrees one night, so the concrete used to hold the paver border in place didn't set properly and therefore, the affected pavers had to be glued (you read that right) by the crew using masonry adhesive, to the concrete once it did set. This is where I am worried about long term wearability of the workmanship. I may not find out there are any issues until 1-2 years from now, outside of the workmanship warranty. That absolutely concerns me and I will not let that go, if it becomes an issue. The second concern with the crew is that they cut the yard sod out with the wrong measurements, so if I hadn't been very 'on top of it' and managing my own project at times, it would've been much worse than it ended up. Now I'm stuck with areas of my yard that are torn up and it didn't need to be that way. Again, fixable avoidable in the first place. They also measured some planter areas of the patio, resulting in having to redo parts of those areas because again, I caught it before they got too far along in the paver prep process. All that to say, you'd think attention to detail would be a core tenant of the System Pavers process and while it may be, I didn't see that consistently on my project. Now, I have a hard full of mud with three dogs and I have to wait 3-6 months minimum, for the overseeding to regrow (thankfully they did come and overseed, trying to make it right). Would I use them again? Yes. Mainly because their crew was the same each day they were here, so they learned my project well versus handing off to other crews over the overall 2 weeks of buildout time the project took. It remains to be seen how well the patio, especially the borders, will hold up long term. But we love the end result, albeit super messy, realizing the yard will grow back and the end result will be a beautiful patio. One final thought - be wary of letting the designer sway you into going with his sometimes seemingly rushed design ideas for YOUR space. Go into the design project with a vision, photo examples, drawings if possible, anything you can. It'll pay dividends in getting you what YOU want, not what the designer envisions alone. He recommended going pretty conservative to match some specific colors on our house and we are anything but conservative, when it comes to design. So, you do you and put together your dream project because once it's done, you're committed. You have to love it. Special thanks to Travis for doing everything in his power, to make things right and being so great on communication. read more

I'm new to Austin, Texas (like so many are!) and moved into a home with several dirt pits and drainage issues in the back yard. My primary concern, beside beautification, was water mitigation. In my quest to resolve my water issues, I interviewed several companies. I am indeed picky - I grew up with a dad who was a home remodeling contractor so I know all the questions to ask (liability insurance, etc. etc. ). An astounding high number of these local contractors were "fly by night" who came by, offered an idea, said they would send an estimate, and then disappeared. It was really perplexing this new, seemingly "Texas way" of doing contract work. To the rescue came the System Pavers team. They were beyond professional, timely, cordial, and confident that their plans for water mitigation would be effective. Even in my "shopping" period, I'd get off the phone with TJ Navarro, the sales person, and within minutes of speaking about paver samples, they would miraculously arrive in my front yard as if an elf fairy had delivered them. All were clearly labeled with sharpie as to their style and color code. Next, I met Ashley Mitchell, who was the onsite point person/coordinator. She was absolutely on top of the project. No message of mine went unanswered for more than an hour - tops. Between her and TJ there were answers to the expected "middle of the job" questions immediately. Jerry, another onsite manager, was also extremely helpful coming by the project every few days. The project in its entirety took approximately 10 days, but there was a lot to do. They needed to tear out my eye sore concrete patio, then excavate in order to bring the terrain to lower than my home's foundation slab, and then grade it. They said they usually grade it for a 1 inch angle, but due to the concerns about water, they went to 2 inches for safety's sake. I was very appreciative of the extra care they took to ensure the water mitigation goal was obtained. At one point, they started to lay out the pavers and the patio portion was almost complete. The following day a supervisor came by and noticed it wasn't exactly smooth as a baby's behind, and had them take it out once again, and regrade and reinstall. I was extremely grateful for this level of specificity and attention to detail. I'd also like to put in extra and reinforced words of praise for Austin's Cutting Edge, the subcontractors and work crew on the job. Thomas, the owner of the company, was extremely attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond any request of mine. A most enthusiastic thanks needs to go to the guys who did the back-breaking labor: Jeremy, Charles, and the other 4 or 5 workmen on the job. All of them were absolutely amazing, cordial and professional. They worked their butts off and I can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Their timeliness and work ethic were A+ - there was only one day of the 9 days that they were not on site at 8:00 am and working till at least 5:00 pm, but even on that day Ashley notified me that they would be late finishing up another job. They didn't miss a day of work. As for the finished job? I was working from home on the crew's last day. All was looking all "constructiony" when I started work, but after several hours I took a break and it was like one of those home improvement shows - I was nearly in tears with how beautiful it looked. It was a total transformation - from mud pit to backyard wonderland. Amazing! Thank you, System Pavers team!!! I will be using you again for project 2, 3, 4... and beyond! read more
