I loved how excited she got when she said She wanted to color my hair, although she raved about my "virgin" hair. I'm actually pretty proud of that. I originally went in for a simple hair cut but near the end I decided to add some color to my outdated and rooted/horribly bleached hair "Don't". The results are astounding! In tears! I went in with a color correction they call it as my hair was a musty blonde.. I asked for pretty medium brown... Jennifer (she's been great before) but she said she had to fill it- so she put in red... the. The red wouldn't come out so she put actual green hair color in my hair- then she said it looked great... this was 4 hours of her work and i was so tired I paid and left and I came home to this!!! This is an hour after I left the salon today and I am in tears!! I called the salon and the guy who answered said she didn't know how to fix it and that she was booked up for 2 months straight!!!!! What kind of salon does that??? My husband heard the entire conversation and just held me.. they said they would refund me but I have green and red and black hair and it's going to cost 3x the amount I am supposed to be refunded to fix this... how can anyone be so unethical!!!!! Went to see Ashley to lighten my hair due to having a color by another stylist the previous week where my hair had not been lightened enough and color was a bit uneven and needed to be brought closer to roots. While I will say that Ashley achieved evening the color out and bringing it closer to the roots, it did not end up looking at all like I requested (and as she had stated we could achieve). I told her that as discussed I wanted it much lighter and she suggested coming back every month to tone and every 6 months to add more foils. My hair was not super dark to begin with. As this was my second failed attempt at getting results I wanted (once at a prior salon and once here) and I was down 6 hours and $400, I thought maybe my expectations were unrealistic. Also, before I left she told me to use purple shampoo so that my ends would no longer be gray (I've never had this issue when lightening my hair previously). I have since had a consult with 2 other stylists, and while I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt I realize how bad it is. The other stylists are surprised I've been as calm as I am about it. I don't like to complain...and must say that I also paid in full and tipped well. I wish I could just have my natural hair back over this nightmare. And I'm not a girl who usually complains and I've never cried over my hair...but the amount of money and time for this result is disheartening. read more

I love this salon - I am going to break my review into Nails and Hair because my experiences with them are different. Hair: I love how my hair looks and functions after getting it cut and colored here. Emily cuts and colors my hair and has given me a very modern and young looking light blonde pixie cut. It is such a pretty color and so easy to care for. I just put in some of the Texture Twist by Pureology, and it's ready for a workday or fun time in moments. I have to go back every 6 weeks to maintain such a short style and color, but it's so worth it. For the hair care alone this salon gets five big, grateful stars. Nails: I had given this salon five stars for nails too but my favorite nail lady quit for family reasons and now and I'm going to be trying out a new one. I went here based on the reviews as a splurge to treat myself and get a haircut and color. II has picked out some color that I knew would be a process, but I was willing to pay for it. I showed the stylist the picture - explained in detail. During the process I kept asking questions because it just didn't feel right. I spent 5.5 hours there and ended up with bright pink hair, super contrasting dark roots, and $200 poorer. I couldn't sleep that night because I knew how terrible it looked. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume I explained myself wrong (despite showing her the picture several times) and wanted to give her the chance to fix it. So I called and they said I could come that day to get it fixed. She didn't seem to know what or how to do it - she would ask the other stylist and even then it all felt like my hair was some kind of experiment that they had no idea how to change. After two hours the color was toned down quite a bit, but the picture doesn't show just how patchy and messy it looks. I honestly could have done a better job myself. I'm very frustrated that I spent over $200 and 7.5 hours to get hair that I'm embarrassed of. I definitely do not recommend this place. DIY would be better. read more

Dorene Rodriguez has been doing my hair for nearly ten years now. She never fails me. She has added brown streaks to my blonde, taken time to a vivid red, and then back to my natural blonde without damaging my hair at all. I now get routine highlights of a nearly white color in my natural blonde and she is always careful with my hair and is sure to maintain its length and good condition. She is always honest with me about what will damage my hair, for instance we do highlights versus bleaching my hair even lighter and she lets me know breakage would occur if we bleached, and that the root growth would look bad. I have always been satisfied. She has helped me with tricks and tips on how to get my hair to grow and be healthy. She is funny, warm, outgoing, honest, and caring. She cares about doing a great job and it shows. Her pricing is fair, and this salon is very airy and open. read more

Got my haircut from Erick and it was amazing! You really get what you pay for and the whole experience was great. I have been looking for a stylist for years and finally feel like I found the perfect mix of a great cut with an awesome atmosphere. Cut came with wash/shampoo/conditioner, hot towel, and scalp/neck massage. Finished with a shave and face treatment along with styling my hair. This would be the type of service I would expect to pay $50+ for, and it cost about half of that. I have multiple cowlicks and my hair is extremely difficult to blend together, but Erick did it seamlessly. Wish I could give him more than 5 stars! read more

I went to Sincerely Your's Salon - Hair! On a hope and a prayer. I had been looking for a salon for days online and on yelp. Most were past my price point and/or needed an appointment, which I can't safely make and keep right now. So when I saw on here that they took walk-ins, that's what I did. I spoke to the man at the front desk, and he suggested that I see Jennifer. My hair was not only a frumpy mess, but I've also been lost as to how to take care of since I had brain surgery last year. While Jennifer was washing, cutting, and styling my hair we talked about all the ways to make up for the hormonal changes and how to style the new cut. I moved here a year and some change ago and spent the first 10 months shopping around for a salon and stylist that fit me. Finally, I have the right fit! Since day one, Arick has been unbelievably amazing to work with! He always has great ideas, always keeps great conversation and keeps me laughing, and I always leave looking and feeling like a million bucks. Just moved to Phx in June. I found SYS on yelp and made appointments for my two daughters. Both did a great job but I really liked the gal (Tonia) who cut my younger daughters hair. A few weeks later I made an appointment with her for a cut and highlights. I'm pretty picky when it comes to color, especially blonde, because it really is a science. Let me tell you, Tonia has it down! Not only was the blonde perfect but the way they do the highlights they turn out so natural. Even when it's up in a ponytail! I've been to her twice now and am looking forward to my next appointment. Tonia is also very easy to talk to, down to earth and makes you feel very comfortable. I decided to check this place out based on the excellent yelp reviews and due to the close proximity to my apartment but I'm sorry to say my experience was sorely lacking. Pros: Clean, bright and spacious interior. Cons: Customer service is sorely lacking, employees seemed disinterested and bored with the exception of one younger girl who I sat there wishing the whole time was my stylist instead. I never once was asked if I'd like anything to drink or a magazine to read. Halfway through my appointment some guys came in with a stepladder and started replacing lights in the ceiling and I was even asked if I wouldn't mind moving so they could replace the lights over my chair, (they mumbled something about not having time to take care of it after hours.) The young lady cutting my hair clearly had no idea what she was doing, (I have a pixie cut,) and she kept walking around my chair looking at my head as if she didn't know where to cut next. I had only asked her to clean it up! She spent more time asking questions like "Does that look even?" and saying comments about how every pixie cut is kind of just personal preference. No it isn't! I was very clear about what I wanted and any decent stylist should be able to confidently look at a grown out cut and see where to shorten it without losing the integrity of it. Or at least that has been my previous experience. Also worth mentioning that when trimming by my ears with the buzzer she cut me, on both sides of my ear which I didn't really notice until later when she applied color and it started stinging horribly. I was never included in the color consultation, my stylist and what appeared to be the more experienced stylist working, both hovered over me with color swatches but never actually asking me what I thought or if I approved. What I ended up with was a color that was barely lighter than the color I walked in with, scrapes on my ears and sideburns that had been shaved down to nothing. Upon getting home I also realized that the color was patchy in places especially around my temples and my ears, you can clearly see the lighter color underneath. Definitely not worth the money or the time. This is my first Yelp review and generally I'm not so easily upset but this experience was just plain bad. read more

I've been to Sincerely Yours twice now. The first time was for a simple trim up and most recently for a big change cut and restyle. Both time I've seen Ashley and she is phenomenal. She has great attention to detail and makes sure she understands what you want done, while explaining how she thinks the look would be most flattering. I took her advice, since I was really changing up my style and she nailed it. She's very easy to talk to and laid back. My hair looks awesome! I really liked one of the products she used, but they didn't have any in stock. They let me prepay and I can swing by and pickup when it comes in. I checked online and they sold to me for about $8 cheaper than online retailers sell it for. They really take care of their customers here! The salon is very clean and tidy. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating. I was able to get same day appointments both times I called, with Ashley. I'm sure she gets busy though because she does a very good job and is a talented stylist. I recommend making an appointment versus trying to do a walk-in because the place was hopping. I'll definitely continue to visit this salon. I recommend Ashley - she will be honest and straight with you about what you want done and she'll rock it! read more

They aren't that expensive-$120 for long haircut and dye. They also got me in the same day and were pretty accommodating. The hairdresser and staff were super friendly and nice. However, I wasn't particularly super impressed with hair. I wanted highlights but somehow got talked into getting ombre done instead-it turned out ok but not really what I asked for originally. Hair cut was also meh. I hate when hair dressers talk you into what they think would look best. I think I'll keep looking for a salon in the area to become a regular to. read more

After a very bad experience with my last hairdresser I was reluctant to try someone new. My husband found Sincerely Yours on Yelp and thought I should give them a try so I set up an appointment. Upon entry the location was bustling with business, there wasn't an empty seat around and the clientele was mainly senior. I thought to myself, good to see so much business, but will I walk out with a helmet head? I sat down and Jennifer started studying my hair and asking questions. Not a lot of chit chat about nothing, just simple questions about what I wanted. I showed her some pics on Pinterest and she went to work. I absolutely loved how she gave me a step by step tutorial of the product she was using and the procedure she was going to use. Heck, it was all Greek to me but she sure made it sound interesting! She made just enough conversation to get to know me but wasn't intrusive at all. I appreciated that. Ultimately, my last highlight job was done without structure and the hairdresser forgot to finish the cut and I had to go back. Jennifer took the time to look at highlight placement and listened to what I wanted. She was meticulous in her application but didn't take long at all. Again, walking me through the whole process! When she was done with the color she started my cut, continuing with her meticulous nature. At the end of the appointment my hair color was beautiful and my cut even and done very well. Jennifer has been doing hair for three years and you can tell she loves it. I think she has a great career ahead of her and I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone, especially Jennifer. Usually I get my brows waxed when I get my hair cut, but the salon I went to last time didn't do brow waxing. So it had been a while and my brows were getting out of hand. I stopped at my usual place without an appointment and was disappointed to discover there was more then an hour wait. I hopped into my car and pulled up Yelp on my phone to find the nearest salon. Sincerely Yours Salon was the first one that popped up and had great reviews. I called to see if they did waxing and if they had an opening right then. I spoke with Patricia who gathered my information and set the appointment. After giving her my email address, which is tied to my blog, she sounded genuinely interested in knowing more about my blog. We chit chatted until I was a block away. When I got to the salon, Patricia greeted me like a friend. She introduced me to Tina, who was going to take care of my brows for me. Tina was very friendly and talked with me the whole time I was in the chair. Afterwards, I was given a gift bag with coupons for a free brow wax the next time I came in and 10% off hair products! After having my Redken products confiscated at the airport last week, I was in the market for some new stuff. I didn't care much for the products I had lost, so Tina talked with me about the different products. I was intrigued with one of them, but wasn't sure how it worked. Tina took the extra time to show me how the product worked in my own hair so that I could see how it feels and how to style with it. I would recommend this salon for men's haircuts and its reasonably priced. Having just moved to the Phoenix/Glendale area, I'm definitely going to be coming to this salon for future haircuts. I called them around 3:40 and was told they had an open appointment at 4:00 so I made my way over there in time for a cut. It seemed pretty busy when I was there and I can see why. My haircut was done by Erika and I told her what I normally get and asked for opinions regarding other styling of my hair. She listened and gave good opinions which I took. The haircut itself didn't take very long and I also got a shampoo and wash included with my cut, which was very nice. Erika was great and I would recommend her for anyone needing a haircut.
