I made a reservation for two on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was pretty busy, but they had our table ready even though we arrived 30 minutes early. Our server was Evelyn, and she was so sweet and she helped us when we were trying to decide between two desserts and three appetizers. We ordered: - Spring Salad (5/5) this tasted so good with the fresh mango, the snap peas, and the carrot ginger dressing. - Faroe Islands Salmon (5/5) I only tasted the rice, and not the salmon itself, but the rice was so good, and I just kept on stealing more from the plate. - Roasted-Half Chicken (4/5) This was my own entrée, and I loved how the chicken was crispy, and I also really liked the garlic mashed potatoes, but the only thing that I did not think worked well with the dish was the swiss chard. I think it would've tasted better with spinach. - Strawberry Cheesecake (4/5) this was surprisingly very light for a cheesecake, we ended up finishing all of it, and the whipped cream was really good. The strawberries were not my favorite, I kind of wish that they were just fresh slices of strawberries, but to each their own. All in all, this was a super solid meal, there's plenty of parking, and the restaurant is quite spacious, and the single bathrooms are also pretty large.

Unfortunately, the meat had an oddly gamey flavor that immediately raised questions about the quality or freshness. The sauce itself was decent, but it wasn't enough to save the ribs. For entrées, we ordered the steak frites and the half chicken. The steak was maybe a 5/10, and that's being generous. The meat itself was underwhelming, and the accompanying steak sauce actually made matters worse rather than complementing it. Even stranger was the side salad, which somehow had a noticeable fishy smell and taste--definitely not something you expect from a fresh salad. The half chicken was easily the biggest disappointment. It had an unpleasant flavor that came across as spoiled or rotten, to the point where it was difficult to eat. The potatoes alongside it were about a 4/10--bland and forgettable. Overall, much of the food had the taste and texture of something that had been frozen and reheated rather than freshly prepared. Ironically, the fries may have been the best thing we ate all night. Then again, fries are a pretty low bar to clear--and thankfully, they managed not to mess those up. The restaurant was also a bit chilly inside, which didn't help the experience. And on a less serious note, the Diet Coke deserves a mention. Put it next to a McDonald's Diet Coke--and we all know McDonald's is the gold standard--and this one is just sad. I don't enjoy leaving overly negative reviews, but when you're paying restaurant prices, there should be a baseline expectation of freshness and quality. Between the questionable ribs, fishy salad, poor steak, and especially the chicken, this meal fell well below that standard. Food: 3/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Fries: Somehow the MVP

The owner, Kelly, also greeted us. Kelly is always warm and gracious, and her wonderful smile truly brightens the entire room. Since we arrived a little earlier tonight, we settled into our usual large booth by the front, our favorite spot. It was cozy and comfortable, making the evening even more relaxing. The sushi has been consistently fresh and delicious. We usually order the Sushi for Two to share, but tonight, after finishing our first order, we immediately ordered a second one. It was simply that good--and we couldn't stop! We did the exact same thing last week, which says a lot about how much we enjoy the sushi here. The Sushi for Two generally includes 18 pieces of premium-quality fish, such as King Salmon, Bluefin Tuna, Fatty Tuna, Madai, Branzino, and more, along with a choice of two signature makimono rolls. We always choose the Dozo Dozo for me and the Angel Roll for hubby. Each order also comes with a choice of soup or salad, and we always go with the soup. Tonight, we also ordered a large bottle of chilled Dassai 45 sake. It was aromatic, fruity, and slightly sweet, with a wonderfully smooth and flavorful taste that paired beautifully with the sushi. We enjoyed it so much that we wished we could finish the entire bottle, but since we had to drive home, we stopped halfway and took the rest home with us. We were actually happy to have some left to enjoy later at home. Another wonderful evening, and another reminder of why we keep coming back almost every week!

The fish is well prepared for sushi that there is none of that fishiness. Nigiri is made at the right firmness unlike rice ball like sushi we often see. Roll has none of that over powering taste. Miso soup is proper and again, none of the salty soup we often experience. Combined with proper Gali (pickled ginger) and better than average wasabi, you can enjoy really good sushi. A class above others in the area.

There is a free parking lot in front as the restaurant shares the lot with other stores in a strip mall. I really liked how most of the menu has pictures of the items so you know what you're ordering. We both ordered from the Lunch Special (Mon-Fri 11:30AM-3PM: $15 for an appetizer, protein and main course). I ordered the Spring Rolls (2 pieces) and Pad See Ew with Shrimp (came with 4 pieces of shrimp). Everything was delicious, flavorful and freshly made. I also ordered the Thai Iced Tea which came in this cute ball shaped glass and was delicious. Our server was very nice and patient with us. The decor inside the restaurant was very cute and there was plenty of natural light coming in. There was limited seating inside as it's not very big but there was also some seating outside. My friend was also very happy with her food, especially her Tom Yum soup. I would definitely return to try other menu items!

All of their curries are fantastic and come with a small bowl of rice. My favorite appetizer is their "money bags." I recently tried their pineapple fried rice and it was perfect. Wish it had a few more pineapple chunks as my bestie and I shared the bowl. The servers are excellent especially if you have any allergies. I can't eat shellfish and they'll thoroughly check before placing your order. Their Thai iced tea is really tasty and comes in cute cups. They're easy to "down," so pace yourself in order to enjoy it with your meal. They have a small bar area that fills up fast when tables are occupied. And there is a bathroom tucked in the corner that feels like you're on a train when inside of it. It feels like it's rumbling because of the fan. Perfect for an escape on the beaten path! Happy eats!

Yeah, you read that correctly... not a typo. We were visiting my daughter and her family while on Long Island, but we had to fend for ourselves one evening while they had other plans. We were in the mood for Mexican food, so Yelp to the rescue... and this place popped up. Well, it lived up to all the hype, I'm happy to say. The restaurant is really small... the only negative... and it can get kind of loud, so okay, two negatives, but the food more than made up for it. We had a really good waiter, who was very helpful in helping us place our order. We ordered guacamole, and they made it to our specifications, minus the hot peppers and cilantro. It was FABULOUS and just like I like it.... as good as Besito, by the way !!! I love that place, too. However, what really won me over was this salmon dish in red mole sauce, which I had never had before. It was AMAAAAAAZING. My husband and I SPLIT an order of their Salmon Con Tropical Mole, which was pan-roasted filet of salmon, mole manchamanteles, sweet plantains, papaya pico de gallo. We got some extra plantains and some street corn, and with the gargantuan size of salmon, it was more than enough for the both of us... plus we definitely filled up on chips and salsa (and guac for me). Everything was superb, and I want to say that the salmon was some of the best I've ever had. It was flaky, flavorful and succulent with a very light but appreciated outer crunch. It was soooooooooooo good. So we came away from this place, raving to everyone and anyone who would listen. We talked my daughter and son-in-law into ordering takeout from here as they were worried it was just too small to deal with a bunch of us going, esp. with their young children. Anyway, I'm disappointed to say that their takeout was an entirely different situation. We ordered the "same" salmon dish, and it was like HALF the size. It was the size for one... not that two could split. (If you look at my photo of it, you'll see how large it was... now cut it in half... that's what we got on takeout.) I let my husband have it cuz I was too angry. It had the mole sauce, but I didn't care once I saw it.... plus the salmon itself looked different... it didn't have that nice crunchy shell from pan roasting it. Just so disappointing. The guacamole was still as good as I remember, as was their salsa... but the portion size and quality of preparation... at least with the salmon... was an abomination. I can't speak to what my daughter and son-in-law ordered for entrees because we didn't try it in the restaurant, so we have no point of reference. I feel bad because I raved and raved about their food, and this takeout experience sucked. There should be NO difference. I guess my takeaway would be to recommend that you dine-in there. I'm awarding all FIVE stars for DINE-IN ONLY... and nothing to do with their takeout process. Brave the crowds because they will be there, make a reservation which will help, and eat THERE. I just don't trust the takeout experience with them.

We sat a bit and waited to have our orders taken and sat a bit longer for the check. They were nice, polite, friendly but a little quicker service would have been appreciated. Would I go back? Sure. I'll try something else.

Given the culinary brilliance here, if you order one of your favorites, it'll be done well, but you're better off trying something unique that might not be on the menu at your local Chinese, Indian or Thai spot. Chili tofu and basil ginger fish were two great showcases for the complex spices available here. (I'm a real American hero, I ate fourths since my parents preferred leftovers that didn't have the top spice levels). And if you're spice-adverse yet chili-curious, the honey chili potato is worth a shot. These are essentially fries. Our server, Ten, was amazing. He adeptly handled the multiple time frames of our orders and is ready to provide suggestions for those who didn't spend 40 minutes researching on Yelp. Part 2. I wish there was editing capability for older reviews. I'm a two-sentence guy - are there fish tacos, does it have strange hours of operation and will they sneer at me for wearing Kohls? - and my first Kunga Kitchen attempt was a bit extra. It even had a narrative arc. I'm someone who thinks movies can be better if the character doesn't change or learn anything, but I tried for three-act structure and can't possibly top that original review so it would be better if I could a couple of recent entrees to the first one.
