His prices have always been reasonable except for a moss removal quote which was considerably higher than the competition. When Dr Roof was taking care of my shake roof, it was pretty much a one-man operation. Later he took on someone else who was always great the few times that he came by. I get the impression that the operation may have expanded.... Dana and I were both young when we first met so he may be retired or semi-retired by now. I did contact him very recently for yet another roofing-related "odd job" so we shall see how that goes. But overall, and for the past many decades, Dr Roof has been a very reliable roofing solution provider and well worthy of a five star rating.

His crew fixed an additional issue that I pointed out but wasn't clear on the exact issue, but they knew what it was and dealt with it. Sadly, they were the last place we contacted after so many other companies, we wish they had been the first because they gave the best customer service and we felt really comfortable with Dana - he was personable, honest, down-to-earth and realistic. They came out and got the job sooner than expected, quickly and so far, seemingly adequately (i.e. no more leak, and a dry attic space and roof that's also venting properly). Pricing was very fair and reasonable. Definitely recommend for roof repairs and maintenance.

Called JBC and they came out almost immediately. Mark (I think was his name) went up on the roof and took a look. He nailed the cover back in place and inspected the area around it. We told him we'd get back to him as soon as we got our insurance settlement. JBC also gave us a quote for cleaning and sealing the roof, applying moss retardant, cleaning the gutters, etc., and we are just about ready to call and schedule a date. If we are happy with their work, we will call the in the spring to discuss having a new roof put on. Stay tuned for another review.

No…read morematter what, the job that may be. . . since we've kept our previous estimates back in March, we are not ready to get our roofing done then, until we got all our priorities taken care of and we started to get new estimates plus those done in March - updated. So, it wasn't hard for us to pick one, and we're ready to hire someone, now! With that said: This is the first time that we have someone HARASSING US (desperate enough?), by phone calls ( 5 times in one day, and not leave us messages), even sending me a TEXT, after I text him back: "no thanks, we've picked someone else." I thought, that would stop all the phone calls, then, for the last time, he called me again (1 week later), and not leave a message. I called Shane (the guy on my phone who have been calling me, but his name is not Shane) and asked him: "What can I do for you?" "WHO are you really calling?" A person, or company calling excessively for more than 3 calls, is DESPERATE! A person calling & hanging up, not leaving a message is at anytime a RUDE person! That's what Telemarketers do, all the time, and this company is acting like a telemarketer & being rude, and is harassing in my book! I do not deal with a company who doesn't behave in a professional manner. (What if they're applying for a job, sent in a resume, and keeps calling the company again & again, if he got the job? Same scenario!) And the rudest part is? YOU don't ever ask: "Who did we pick?" INOYB My name is not even on his date base, and doesn't have a clue, if he had given me an estimate or got my text! BTW: Amanda was the person who came to my house to give us estimates, when I was told it would be Shane.

Pricing of the project was very reasonable; I think it was the second-lowest quote we got, but Sawtooth's materials and warranty were better. Jose and his crew did a great job. During the job, every day's end-of-day cleanup was great. The end result looks beautiful, and we're very happy with the way everything went. The high end materials and awesome warranty also add to the satisfaction of a job well done. One hiccup: 2 fascia boards with some minor dry-rot at their ends were supposed to be replaced before the installation of new gutters (new gutters were part of the project). Somehow that fell through the cracks, and the gutters went up over the 2 boards. Darrin quickly took ownership of the issue, and did a great job of repairing/rebuilding the corner where the problem was. Very satisfied with the response to the issue! Suggestion to Sawtooth: if new gutters are in the project, they need to be included in the project scope all the way to the end. That includes final inspection and invoicing. The QA inspection by Nick should have been done AFTER the gutters were installed, not before. The inspection should include both the roof and the gutters, not just the roof. The final invoice should be emailed AFTER the gutters are installed, and all issues are settled.

A few hiccups along the way (blasting music at 3am from their truck parked in my driveway, I stepped on on of their roofing nails (ouch!), and this oddity in the upper rain gutter where it unnecessarily slants making it look horrible. I realize gutters need to slope to drain water, but this one is extreme and looks stupid). Would I recommend these guys? Maybe. Update: Clear Vision finally sent a crew out to fix the small section of rain gutter with the unusual slant. So kudos to them for following up albeit weeks later. (BTW, I also asked for a bid to paint my house : they provided a dollar quote but didn't send anyone to talk to me about what I needs or what service they would provide. Admittedly, we missed moving it before they got here but leaving it on the ground without even a heads up is just poor business. They also trampled and blew debris all over a well-marked patch of new grass we have been growing. While they did do what they promised and cleaned off the flat surfaces (driveway, etc) with a blower, they do so by blowing the debris from your gutters all over your lawn and flower beds. Having been in the gutter business I am well aware of the challenges associated with the job and in my opinion their performance was lack-luster at best.

Megan was great, getting us scheduled with an estimator very quickly. I had a disappointing experience with the estimator this morning that makes me not interested in working with All Surface, at all. After looking at the exhaust fan ducts/vents - the estimator told me that 2 of the 4 other vents we have on our roof are placed in the wrong spots and that they want to remove those 2 vents, patch, re-shingle, and install 4 new vents on the other side of the house for a total of 6 vents (2 existing and 4 new) as well as adding the 2 stem vents for the exhaust fans. I asked what the purpose of relocating/adding those 4 vents would be as we are not experiencing any moisture issues in the attic. The estimator explained some airflow/air pressure dynamics which made sense. I then asked if we could look at replacing the aging vents in their existing locations as an additional option to what he proposed and that's where it escalated. He responded with an annoyed "We don't just throw shit on people's roofs". and continued to say that they're the experts and they're going to do things the right way. This was a completely unnecessary response to a genuine question. I'm not trying to get you to do things the wrong way - I was asking if there was a way to minimize the level of work needed when there are functioning ventilation penetrations already in place. The response was not friendly, educational, or good customer service in any way. This experience really soured my opinion of All Surface and don't plan on working with them. I hope others do not experience the same type of interaction I did.
