Mario and Temo built the whole closet in just 2 days and kept the place really clean. They were polite and efficient, and wrapped up by mid-day. We had 2 closets and one pantry done. I was ready to invest in professional help and reached out to More Time For You because Lori Krolik's professional profile listed "ADD/ADHD Expertise." This was particularly important to me because my child has ADHD. I was hoping to find someone who could understand the challenges our family faces and help us develop practical, sustainable organizing systems. I had already spoken with several professional organizers, but my consultation with Lori was unfortunately a very negative experience. When I tried to explain my background, our situation, and what I was hoping to accomplish during our phone consultation, she interrupted me and said she didn't want to hear about that (which I thought it was a little rude). Instead, she immediately asked me to give her a virtual tour of our home. After the tour, rather than discussing possible solutions, she made several comments that I found extremely judgmental and hurtful, including comments along the lines of: * "How did you get here?" * "You said you organized this area (inside the cabinet), but I still see a mess on the countertop." * "You said you're not a hoarder, but I think you are." I also explicitly told her that my child has ADHD and that one of my main goals was to reorganize my child's room. Despite knowing this, Lori suggested that our child's difficulties with organization were partly due to us, as parents, not setting a good example. I found this particularly insensitive. I fully understand that our home needs significant work. That is exactly why I was seeking professional help in the first place. I was prepared to invest the time and money necessary to make meaningful changes. I also understand that not every professional organizer is the right fit for every client. Lori explained that her preferred approach involves gathering items together and sorting them, and that the amount of clutter in our home would make the project difficult for her team. I would have completely respected her decision if she felt our project was not a good fit for her services. What disappointed me was not her assessment of the amount of work involved, but the way she communicated it and her attitude toward me as a potential client. What makes this experience especially disappointing is the information presented on her own website. More Time For You's FAQ specifically addresses how professional organizing can help people with ADD/ADHD, discussing the importance of creating appropriate systems and routines. Her website also states: "We provide the encouraging and non-judgmental voice you need to get the job done." Unfortunately, my consultation felt like the exact opposite of that promise. I sought her services specifically because I believed her advertised experience with ADD/ADHD would mean a greater understanding of the challenges neurodivergent individuals and families may face. Instead, I felt dismissed, criticized, and shamed during a consultation in which I was simply trying to ask for help. I believe people who reach out to professional organizers are often already feeling overwhelmed or embarrassed about the condition of their homes. Seeking help can take courage, and being met with judgment rather than understanding can make that process even more difficult. For neurodivergent individuals and families considering More Time For You, I would strongly encourage you to ask detailed questions about their approach to ADHD, communication style, and how they handle challenging organizing situations before committing to their services. Based on my consultation, I personally would not feel comfortable working with Lori. I hope future clients seeking help receive the empathy and professionalism described on the company's website.

She helped me decide what to take with me, and whatever I didn't feel like packing (like the tedious bathroom), she did for me. We were told they would communicate with our project manager to get the correct parts. It's been a week now, and I still haven't received any ETA or update on when the new parts will be delivered. I've been told by our project manager that her manager will be reaching out to me with an update days ago, and have not heard from him/her. The lack of communication and clarity is very frustrating. Strongly advise against their custom shelving unless you have flexibility to have the room unavailable if measurements are inaccurate. I will say the store manager, April, has been very nice to work with and have no problems with the store overall, but it seems the custom shelving is a completely different department and have had no luck communicating with that department.

My husband and I then spent two years working from home together in our front room (we call it the study now) without any rhyme or reason, just putting our desks wherever they fit, because it all happened so quickly. It was awkward and ugly, cords and monitors everywhere, and not a great look for people walking in our front door. The whole time, I was thinking, "when this is done and at least one of us goes back to the office, I want to make this room into a nice space to read and relax, and also to WFH when I have to." That's where Kanika comes in. I tried changing the place up on my own, but every choice I made seemed to make my space uglier and more awkward. It was time to hire a professional. That decision was worth every penny. In the end, my project turned out to be slightly bigger than just one room. I enlisted Kanika's help in choosing flooring, baseboards and paint for the whole house, furniture for my entire downstairs (we were still using the old living room furniture left by the previous owners), and light fixtures throughout. She was easy to work with and understood immediately what I was going for. My study is a real showstopper now - the walls are this deep blue color that looks amazing, she designed a gorgeous custom bookshelf that makes perfect use of the space, and she picked a couch that is the perfect size, just the right color, and so comfortable. And we still managed to get a desk in there for those WFH days. Literally just the other day, I was on a Zoom with someone and thought "this room behind me is so pretty, it looks like a fake background." But it's real, and in my house! And it wouldn't have happened without Kanika. The paint color she helped me pick for my bedroom is something I never would have chosen on my own, but I still regularly think about how nice it looks whenever I go in there. Same with the color of the living room couch, I'd never have found it on my own, but now that I have it, I love it. She knows her stuff. Kanika's husband Adi runs the business side of things. He managed the project, hiring contractors and keeping everything on schedule. The work was done on time, and he kept us in the loop, patiently answering any concerns or questions. And, no shenanigans with the final cost. Really, hiring Kanika Design was a great decision for us.
