I called Insta Maids to book a cleaning service, and during that call I asked a simple question…read moreabout five shirts on the floor. I explained that I am disabled and asked whether the cleaner could pick them up. I was told that would require roughly an additional $100 charge. Rather than pay that, I said I would pick the shirts up myself. What should have been a simple booking then turned into repeated attempts to move me to a more expensive service. I eventually booked the standard service online and picked up the five shirts myself. To my surprise, Insta Maids then CANCELLED my appointment because they believed I needed the higher-priced service. They called me while I was working and again tried to discuss the service. I specifically explained that my break was over, I had to go, and I needed to lead a scheduled sales meeting with more than 20 people. When the conversation continued anyway, I ended the call. Then they immediately called me back. Because I had two consecutive calls from an unfamiliar number--and because I have both a seriously ill family member and employees who may repeatedly call in an emergency--I stopped my live Zoom meeting and answered. It was Insta Maids again. I made it very clear that I was working and could not talk. I ended that call as well. Since Insta Maids had cancelled my appointment, I hired another cleaning company. I actually chose a MORE expensive company and booked approximately $300 per week in recurring service. Price wasn't the issue. I simply wanted a company that would take my booking, provide the service, and respect my time. Then this morning an Insta Maids cleaner unexpectedly showed up at my door. I discovered that Insta Maids had reinstated the appointment and charge even though I had never agreed to reinstate the service they had cancelled. When I called, I was told that they had informed me during the previous phone call that they were reinstating the appointment. I had an AI transcript of the call in front of me, and it did not show that statement being made at all. To be completely fair, after listening to the actual recording, it sounds possible that the representative MAY have been beginning to tell me something about the appointment when I cut him off. I had already repeatedly explained that I was leading a meeting and could not continue the conversation. Whatever he was beginning to say, I did not hear a completed statement that my cancelled appointment was being reinstated, and--more importantly--I never agreed to reinstate it. There is an enormous difference between attempting to tell a customer something and obtaining the customer's authorization. I did not authorize Insta Maids to reinstate the service they had cancelled. I did not agree to the reinstated appointment. I did not expect anyone to arrive at my home. By the time they arrived, I already had another cleaning company scheduled for that afternoon. This entire situation could have been avoided by simply respecting two things: 1. When a customer says, "I cannot talk right now," let them go and call back at an appropriate time. 2. When your company cancels a customer's appointment, don't reinstate it and charge the customer's card without clearly obtaining their agreement. They had already made the sale. Somehow they turned a completed sale into a cancellation, multiple unwanted phone calls, an unexpected cleaner at my door, a disputed charge, and a customer who has now taken approximately $10,000 a year in recurring cleaning business elsewhere. In fact, I am paying the competing company a higher rate so I will not pay $15,000 a year. That's an extraordinary amount of unnecessary effort to lose a customer they had already won.

My housekeeper had fallen ill and so it had been a month since my house was cleaned. When I originally spoke to them, I said my biggest concern was to make sure they got all the dust, underneath the furniture, which sits on hardwood floors, so no need to move furniture. After they left, I noticed they only took a swipe at the front of the furniture and left dust behind. Didn't dust anything sitting out on furniture (vase, knickknacks, etc). Definitely not the thorough cleaning that I had paid for. When I reported this, she said sorry it didn't work out. Did not offer to come back and make it right.

However, towards the end…read morewhen the owner didn't accompany her husband and the other employees they weren't as thorough with cleanings (spilled cat food and didn't clean it up, didn't vacuum cat hair on the stairs). We overlooked it as the owner would still come with them about every other time and things went well when she was there and the rate was good. However, the last time they were there they left the house and completely left our back door completely wide open and our cat got out. This was a huge oversight, and when I reached out to the owner about it she responded by saying that her husband said we would just leave our back door like that, so it was on us. Unfortunately, we couldn't move forward with using them regardless of how thorough she had been because when her husband was here he wasn't thorough and lost our cat (luckily we found her later that night), and he also didn't even respect us enough to own up to something he did or apologize, so we didn't feel comfortable having him in our home again.

There was construction dust everywhere, much of it stuck to surfaces, and the team was incredibly thorough in cleaning every corner of the house. They vacuumed and mopped carefully throughout, paying attention to details that many cleaners would easily miss. One area I was particularly concerned about was the basement carpet, which had gotten very dirty from contractors constantly walking on it during construction. They spent a lot of time trying to remove the stains and improve its condition. Erick was also very honest and upfront that he couldn't guarantee every stain would come out completely, which I really appreciate. Their pricing was also very fair and competitive considering they work from 8am to 4:30 pm. I spoke with several cleaning companies before making a decision, and they offered the most reasonable quote while still delivering excellent work. I'm very happy with the results and will definitely be using their services again. Highly recommended!

I inquired about a move out cleaning with carpet shampoo for my 488 sqft studio in RWC and was…read morequoted $300, which is fair considering the crazy move out charges that most apartment companies charge. Everything was done so nicely and the two lovely ladies who did the cleaning were so kind as well. The only thing that I did take off stars for was the wooden board that was placed at the top shelf by the building to block off the wiring/funnels etc bc this top shelf across was connected to the microwave hood which sits atop the stove. It definitely wasn't moved or broken before and I really should have throughly checked all cabinets but didn't discover it until my exit /checkout with one of the apartment managers there. Imagine my shock because this was not reported to me at all. When I reached out to the owner, Erick, he said that they assumed I knew about it and that's why they didn't say anything to me. And said that if they didn't anything they would have told me and him. This was NOT communicated to me after the cleaning and when I reached out to him over it, a picture of a stained drawer (I knew of this because the previous tenant had done this and used drawer liners to cover it), was sent to me saying that that was they discovered. But I knew of this lol. And this was NOT the picture of the broken/moved wooden slat. Generally would have appreciate an upfront apology and then maybe a %of my payment back as a generous gesture (I know, they p won't). But the honesty would have been the best. It put me in a bad spot bc the ladies were so lovely and I never want to give a small business a bad review. But the way this was handled after was ...not ideal to say the least. Overall: 7/10 recommend. If you choose them to clean your place, make sure to take photos BEFORE AND AFTER. Better yet, stay at your place while they clean.
