Bacon and Pimiento Grilled cheese, with caramelized onions
    Kaitlyn M.

Absolutely one of my favorite trucks to come by my office. When this truck is in town, I don't miss it. Something about the grilled bread and homemade sauerkraut really makes this Reuben stand out. With house-cured and house-smoked meats, these are some of the best sandwiches in the Triangle. The peakles aren't my favorite, but everything else I've ever ordered is delicious, including the vegetarian roasted beet sandwich. That includes their apparently one-time-only smoked pimiento cheddar cheese with pepper and herb bacon and caramelized onions.

Turkey reuben. The grilled bread is what makes the sandwich.

SFD came to my office campus recently for a mini-food truck rodeo. I ordered the turkey reuben and a side of kettle chips for close to $10. I love me a good reuben sandwich and SFD did not disappoint! The reuben sauce was bold and had that bite to it that I love and the turkey was definitely fresh. In my opinion, the kraut could have been a little more pickled. The bread was grilled to perfection. The chips also had a perfect crunch but could have used some more salt. Keep in mind that I had to take my food back to my office which took me about 15 minutes. I'm sure everything would have been even more delicious had I eaten it fresh. All in all, the food was delicious but a tad pricey for a sandwich and chips.

Wow. Best brisket sandwich I've ever had. Great tasting meat, spicy peppers on good bread. Elise had a TAB sandwich, turkey and avocado, bacon which was awesome too.

    Sweet potato hash with avocado

The sweet potato hash with avocado was delicious! It came with a big slice of toast which I happily made into avo toast. The hash was a bit spicy but very good! Only complaint is that it seemed to take forever for our order.

As far as food trucks go, this one is a good choice for sandwich lovers. They can be a bit on the greasy side since they're all on grilled bread but love the fresh ingredients and it all seems to balance out. I don't necessarily seek this truck out but do occasionally enjoy it when it comes to work for lunch.

"Great deli-style sandwiches, from rather hidden location on Chapel Hill Rd"…read more Came by here on a Saturday. This place is REALLY hard to find... it's behind the State Farm building, but there's barely any signage from the street. (Note: some photos here in Yelp seem to be from an older location.) We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.

First of all, the bread is soft and has a nice bite, holds the juices of a sandwich well and was fresh. I got the Cobble Hill sandwich and the turkey was really good. Also the size is amazing for the price. When you get there, it feels like you're in the wrong place or entering in the wrong way, but you're not. I asked if this was the sandwich spot and a young man took my order and made my sandwich within 5 min. And there is enough parking behind the State Farm building to pull up and get your sandwich I can't wait to go back and try the Italian and cheesesteak sandwiches.

I ordered mine on pressed focaccia bread and everything from the juicy crispy chicken to the parmesan cheese and toppings was top notch. Each of the flavors and textures played so well together that it's hard to stop eating after taking the first bite. Came on a Monday around 1pm and there was no line. Inside the shop was a classic deli where you order at the counter and then browse the various goods/merch while you wait. Service was fast and the sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. There are a couple picnic tables outside to sit and eat but other than that, mostly a to-go place. First timers: get the Uncle Primo's, you won't regret it!

But if the line were shorter in the future I'd come back and try other yummies from the menu.

"Sandwich shop just off University Dr in Durham"…read more Came here for an evening dinner with a friend. We arrived around 5:45pm, and there was ample parking, but I will say the place was HOPPING by the time we left at 6:30pm. The decor is very cute-- old-style, good seating and a bar area as well. You order at the table, and food comes to you. My dining mate got the Cypriot (Halloumi, Fig, Arugula, Tomato, Pesto) with a side of curly fries, and I wasn't very hungry so I got the Beyond Meat Chicken Tenders kids meal with a side salad. I also got a delicious bottled sparkling lemonade. Service was fine-- food comes after order, but you're mostly on your own once food is delivered, as expected. We got a couple of napkins with the food, but there are more self-serve up in the counter. Just don't expect someone to check on you or anything. The food was GREAT. My dining partner loved her sandwich (commented especially on the fig spread) and fries, and I really liked my meal as well. The side salad was surprisingly delicious, especially the addition of pickled red onion. The place was clean-- I went to the restroom, too, and everything was stocked well. Price was very fair. Overall, I'd happily come back. Easy, priced well, delicious. Not a place where you get a lot of "attention", but great for a simple meal.

The frittata I had did the trick but I really enjoyed the follow up items of the biscuit and the polenta lime cookies with my coffee afterwards as well. Very helpful and friendly service. The Deets: I looked on my trusty Yelp app to see about a good place to catch breakfast before going to the Durham Amtrak station to start a Saturday of adventure with some friends. I found Alimentari at Mothers & Sons and saw that their weekend brunch started at 9am, perfect. I had experienced a wonderful dinner at the main Mothers & Sons right next door to Alimentari so I had a good vibe coming into trying it out. The outside is pretty nondescript except Mothers & Sons on the windows. Upon entering, Alimentari gives a great casual but nice feel as a combination cafe and bistro type impression. I was greeted quickly and cheerfully with water and menus as the server took my drink order to start. I decided on this visit to go with the frittata with prosciutto, caramelized onions, and Caciocavallo cheese. I liked this choice a lot, perfect portion and delicious but I wish I had more of the prosciutto flavor coming through. Throughout this meal, my servers were very positive, helpful, and always made sure I had what I needed. I decided to investigate the pastries items I saw on their bar. There are pinwheels they have on a plate they offer as a free treat, I sampled one and liked it a lot. The large cookies under the glass cake cover caught my eye. My servers described the polenta and lime cookies that were one of the selections and I had to go with those with some coffee, as well as trying one of their plain biscuits from the menu. The biscuit was large, still warm, and baked perfection (not overbaked or underdone). I would not call it a strictly "Southern style biscuit" but it was delicious and I think I would love one here with sausage and egg on future visits. I could have done with less salt on the top though, again a small thing to me. The polenta and lime cookies were a great surprise, I enjoyed these a lot with my coffee and so glad I tried them...very soft and flavorful with just a hint of crunch here and there from the polenta. I recommend them to round off your brunch experience here. I'd say 4.5 stars for food but the great service I received while here rounds them up to an even 5 stars, good breakfast/brunch stop!

My husband loves sandwiches more than any other food so we finally stopped in a few days ago. The building itself needs some help. Well, a lot of help. The inside and the outside could use a massive overhaul but I feel it's likely not necessary where they are located and the owners are clearly putting their money into amazing quality ingredients instead of aesthetics. The sandwiches we ordered were AMAZING! They definitely bake the bread fresh every day, the bread was absolute perfection. I also really liked their mayo and feel they must make it in house. I ordered a regular (8", I think) #1 which is the Italian. I loved it! I topped it with sweet peppers, banana peppers, and pickles. Chef's kiss!
