I came to Niche on a whim. I was having a bad day; a bad week really. Personal and…read moreprofessional-wise. I was just tired of shitty people and I wanted to go to a place that felt good. I just don't think I expected what I got. Upon entering, I was received by a small very warm and beautifully lit bar that simply felt special. I looked over the available wine and asked the gentleman at the corner seat if the seat next to him was taken. Little did I know that the gracious gentleman who kindly offered me the seat was none other than the proprietor of Niche, Mr. Ted Powell and that's when my night really started as Ted graciously regaled me with amazing stories between the pause on the songs played by the band. What a vibrant spirit this man has. If you go here, you have to meet Ted. From telling me about how he acquired the place, his daughter, Budstock, Maverick Rose Music Hour, and sharing details of each nights events at Niche, he made my first visit (just me myself and I) a beautiful one. He couldn't stop talking about how wonderful a mixologist Andy is. Don't get it twisted. This man is more than a bartender. He's a diplomatic mixologist who knows how to let patrons know, in the most respectful but boundary maintaining way, how to behave. I saw him in action and it was a beautiful thing to see him basically offer up a dose of kindness with a dash of "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself." If a place could be described by one word, Niche's word would be KINDNESS. I felt like I was taken care of. Thank you Ted and Andy for being so kind on my first visit and turning my night around. I look forward to future visits. This place is most definitely a must visit when in North Carolina!

I returned here with a friend after enjoying a Yelp event. It was very busy on a week day at lunch…read moretime and our lunch took a bit to arrive but it was all good once it did. I ordered the crispy cauliflower app which was delish! Don't let the raisins sway your decision - it's suttle but just right with the cauli. They add a romesco sauce that's flavorful add capers to add the salty goodness. Loved this! I also ordered the meatball app which was plenty. They were perfect size and more than enough for two. The sauce was rich and bold with flavor and a sprinkle of goat cheese was just right. I will return and try a few more apps next time.

I had yet to visit and the dining room was small but separate from the bar area which was nice and the wine as decor was unique. Met my daughter and roommate for lunch and while it was "fine" I'd leave it there. The water didn't have ice which is fine. That said our server never refilled it and only after a switch of servers were we offered a refill. I got the Brie and Prosciutto on Focaccia and it was fine. When one upgrades to fries I expect it to be an upgraded fry. It was fine. Our second server was very sweet but the service overall left something to be desired. There was no table visit at any time and I was grateful for the incredible company because outside that, this spot didn't make the grade.

Food, service, and ambience are all 10/10!…read more I did a shared plate afternoon adventure with my friend. We got the scones (I would recommend the honey and chive butter, she preferred the sweet cinnamon sugar). We also split the French onion Mac and cheese. I love that they use cavatappi (sp? - corkscrews) so the sauce is in and around every noodle. The crisp onions on top provided a perfect crunch! We also split the crab and avocado sandwich with house salad. The house salad dressing was amazing as was the crab and avocado. It was so good I asked for a catering menu for my next event. Thankfully, our amazing service was Gabi, who manages all the catering. Such a great experience on a lovely afternoon.

The décor is absolutely stunning, and the service was excellent. We visited during Christmastime and truly loved the festive decorations. Our drinks were perfect and well-crafted. For dinner, we shared the chowder, which unfortunately was underwhelming--the croutons were the best part. We then ordered the chicken, salmon, and mashed potatoes. The salmon was dry, the chicken was on the bone with very little meat, and the mashed potatoes were surprisingly disappointing. I even took them home hoping I could improve them myself. I will likely return to the Tea Room because I enjoy supporting local businesses and genuinely like their drinks and small bites, but I would not come back for dinner.

Stopped by RBF recently for an afternoon drink and really enjoyed my experience!…read more First, we ended up finding street parking right next to RBF, but I think there may also be a dedicated parking lot outside the back patio? Not entirely sure since we still have no idea how to access it, but maybe look for that lot if street parking is challenging :) Anyway, RBF is located in the basement of a building, so we had to take an elevator down from the entrance we took. Inside, it's got chill vibes - it definitely feels like a wine bar :) We ended up sitting inside on a high top, but there were various couches and a good amount of outdoor seating available as well. It took a while for our server to come check in with us, but she was super friendly and helpful with the wine selections once she came over. I got a random glass of red wine (they do not serve beer, in case you were wondering!) while my wife tried out a couple of tasters and then picked out a white wine for herself. The wine was pretty tasty and it was definitely a generous portion. After sitting there for a while, we also decided to grab some bread with pesto on the side. It took a sec for it to come out, but it wasn't bad! Nothing extraordinary but I wasn't expecting anything super gourmet, so it was totally fine. Overall, we had a great experience here and I would definitely stop by again on a date night.

We got a couple of student sandwiches and the frizen drink for the winter in July theme they had going on who were all great. However, each time I felt like it's very cliquish in there and the glasses of champagne can be quite expensive. We're looking at about 20 plus per glass, so get ready to shell that out. They do have champagne flights that run around 50 bucks. They have inside seating outside seating in a bar seating. There was Music Entertainment the last time I went. Again, it just seems kind of clicky and not that I need anyone to be my friend but it just didn't feel very welcoming as in a place that you would want to spend a lot of time and once you got there. The first time I went it was kind of the same vibe so I'm not sure that it would change if I was to go a third.

There's something ridiculously satisfying about finding a spot that feels hidden in plain sight,…read moreand The Walk Up absolutely nails that energy. Tucked above downtown Cary, this cocktail club delivers specialty drinks that are both creative and dangerously easy to keep ordering. The vibe is relaxed without trying too hard, making it equally perfect for catching up with friends. The real standout for me though? The massive outdoor patio. Spacious, laid-back, and ideal for lingering over cocktails way longer than originally planned. Cary keeps getting cooler, and this place is a big reason why.
