Crappy Service!!! the hostess spend all her time talking to her friend and ignored us. Whem she was done she decided to seat us in a section we no servers. I talked to another server and she treated me like we snuck in to her crappy restaurant. Still no service. no drinks , no menu, nitching. If you respect your self do not go to this lousy restaurant. Swiss Chalet was started in Toronto in 1954, with locations across Canada. The chain is famous for its chicken and ribs, and this new location is another great addition to the local Swiss Chalet family. Service is fast and friendly and the food is delicious and plentiful. Our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were topped up throughout the meal. There was a small problem with the bill with our Buy-One-Get-One-Free coupon, but it was promptly fixed by a manager and honoured. Overall an excellent experience! read more

Take out seems to run pretty smoothly, but twice in the last few months, we've gone in to eat and have been ignored or mistreated by the greeting staff. Twice we've walked out and eaten elsewhere. Even when we HAVE eaten in, the service has been pretty sketchy. Not a good place to eat. read more

The only thing consistent about this Swiss Chalet location is the brutally poor management. I feel badly for the severs as they appear to be trying hard but have been here three times and they are the top (bottom?) three worst experiences at the chain. As in baseball, three strikes and you're out! Strongly suggest you go to one of the other locations in KW. If you're stuck at this end of town consider somewhere else. We have officially decided as a family to boycott Swiss chalet due to their lack of customer service and repeat problems with take out orders. 3 out of 3 home deliveries had major issues like receiving someone else order, wrong sides, missed mains. When we asked to correct it I was told my two young children could not eat the food that was sent and to wait for the corrected order. Total time to deliver our meal was 1 hour 50 mins. This was the last time my good money would support these crooks. read more

Food and service was actually pretty good. One of our dinners was served cold and the waitress replaced it immediately! One issue - that we did speak to the manager about was only one of the 2 sink facets in the ladies washroom worked...and the one that did work - barely worked. I tried this place about a year ago and swore I'd never go back, but I have a short memory and I was hoping it would be better this time. Alas, I was disappointed. It's still not good. I picked my order up at 1pm (just after the "lunch rush" so I figured it would be hot and fresh. Nope, the chicken was dry and way over-cooked. The couscous was abysmal- a tiny serving (about 3 tablespoons), clumped together and not good. The picture on the website is laughable. It was just a tiny portion of everything: chicken, mashed potatoes, even the gravy was less than half full. I was afraid to open any more containers... They only get 2 stars because the chicken and mashed potatoes tasted good and my order was ready when I picked it up. So NOW I am certain: don't go back! This place is NOT good value and they clearly don't care about customer satisfaction or repeat business. read more

This really is the worst Swiss Chalet in KW. I called ahead to order 2 quarter chicken dinners and the women on the other line basically told me to hang up and look at the online menu and order there myself because she didn't want to sign in. When I went to pick it up, it wasn't ready and I had to wait a good extra 15 minutes. The food wasn't even hot. The buns were hard as rocks and the fries tasted like they'd been sitting there all day. It tasted stale and of old oil. Pretty disappointing. read more

This is the worst Swiss chalet in the KW area. Although the restaurant is never busy the service is very slow. My bf ordered a burger and it came with coleslaw that was past its expiry for sure. Skimpy amounts of fries. Fruit flies flying around everywhere. Go at least to the one on highland instead, but the one at weber is best. Believe me, we've given them all a few chances and this location continues to disappoint. read more

Terrible. I've eaten in the restaurant twice, both times with slow and poor service. Food I ordered looked like it was leftovers and both times it was an awful experience. The worst Swiss Chalet in the city, both take out and eat-in. Skimpy portions for take-out, only a handful of fries, and a chicken bone found in the butter chicken. Eat-in fared no better with consistently small portions and terrible table service. Waitress brought our food and then was nowhere to be found the entire meal, no drink refills or ketchup. We have tried this location several times hoping it will get better, but it doesn't! I'll make the trip across town to the Weber St. location as I have had nothing but good experiences there my whole life! read more

Very typical of every Swiss Chalet I have visited. As I now live in TN, this is one of the chains I miss the most and always make a point of dining at least once at a Swiss Chalet when we visit relatives. Went for mother's day and was surprisingly not busy. However, our service was pretty slow (our waiter was new so some slack is needed in his case). Other tables were waited slowly too. Not sure if they've fixed it but when we went, the place was boiling hot, the A/C was broken I guess and the manager said she was trying to contact the owner. We got the new deal, 3 courses for $20, and the appetizers were really amazing! Our chicken came out barley warm, but I was starving so ate most of it anyways. Because our server never checked to ask if our food was okay it wasn't replaced but the manager came over and gave us free meals. The manager was clearly having a very stressful day and apologized profusely. I will eat at Swiss Chalet again because I love the food and hopefully the A/C will be fixed and chicken will come out hotter. read more

Terrible service and a bad attitude from staff and management! Was told we "should have made a reservation" for twelve on a Sunday when the restaurant was very slow. Bad service throughout the meal, will never return. Katie S. was the server and she sucks HUGE! She actually rolled her eyes and sighed while two children were making up their minds about what to eat. I contacted management who really didn't care. I emailed the company to let them know about our experience. I don't want anything from this place or restaurant. I will never return! I actually signed up to yelp to leave a negative review for this place. Management dismisses patron requests (asked to have my child's food cooled down). Do yourself a favour and stick with the Swiss chalets owned by Joe Paiva (e.g. Weber Street). There's a reason the other locations are much busier than this one. Got food poisoning from uncooked bacon while at this location. The server got management involved when my mother and I noticed that the bacon was uncooked. He talked down to both my mother and myself stating that we were wrong. I will never go back to this restaurant because of how awful my food was and how insanely rude the manager was. Brutal service from the owner/manager. Like something from a bad restaurants TV show. Guy mutters under his breath, blaming everyone else, forgetting orders, no eye contact. A total joke. Didn't have high expectations for a Swiss Chalet but this place really is one of the worst restaurants I've ever had the misfortune to visit. Took 1.5 hours to serve a kid meal and chicken Kaiser. NEVER again! First and last visit to this location. We received very poor service, waited LONG periods of time and did not get to eat at the same time. Our group of five entered this restaurant and waited for someone to acknowledge/seat us. The place was not busy. After several minutes someone did come and seat us. Our orders were taken. One of our beverages was served in a dirty (on the inside) glass. When we were finally able to flag down our waiter he did apologize and get a new drink. Our dinners did not arrive at the same time. Two came and then we waited...and waited. Two more came but were not complete...they said they would bring the rest when it was ready. The fifth meal did not come, but the waiter said there was a mix-up in the kitchen and the order had just been placed. He said they would give a discount (which they did, but only on the meal that was missed). By the time we left (almost TWO hours later!!!) we had experienced poor service (waiting for everything! and not once did any staff ask us how our food was, if we would like something more or if they could provide beverage refills for us), the child with us was not offered or received dessert which was included in the price we paid for the meal, our food (even the same dinners!) did not arrive together AND we DID NOT GET TO EAT TOGETHER since our food was delivered to our table in intervals (even though it was all ordered at the same time)!!!!! I will NOT be returning to this restaurant and will not recommend it to anyone. This is too bad, since this restaurant is in a very good location. read more

Tonight I took my daughter to Swis Chalet Ira Needles. We were seated promptly. The server came and was unsure of herself when asked questions. As time ticked on, my daughter grew impatient after waiting 30 minutes. At 40 minutes the server arrived to tell us our food will be out soon. I felt the server was not warm or understanding. 'A runner' came to bring our food. My dinner was cold and when I asked what took so long, he stated, "I am just the runner, you have to ask someone else" in a tone that was uncalled for considering I am the paying customer. I asked a bus boy to get my daughter some butter and he returned with no butter and continued to clear off a table. I sent my dinner back and the apology was short and not very genuine. My daughter ate her meal and I was still charged for the iced tea I had ordered. You would think a restaurant would send out the manager to offer the customer a complimentary item. Another family with young children were not impressed with the service either as we discussed the smug looks on our faces. As I looked around the restaurant, many customers were unhappy and understandably upset. People come there for quick and delicious food. I went home to eat after not leaving a tip or even an apology from anyone as we exited. Long story, but I will be telling all my friends and family about this experience and wish to express my sadness in the terrible way this restaurant is run, giving Swiss chalet a bad name.
