Swift Movers showed up a hour and a half wait. They wouldnt answer or return our calls beforehand. The movers dragged our bed frames across our hardwood (right in front of me!) and put permanent scratches in our floors on the second and first floor. Swift movers broke our daughter's desk, our dishes, and put gauges in our walls. They also ripped the trim out of our upstairs and didn't mention it to us. They ignored us when we told them about it and could care less that this may drive our buyers away from the house we moved out of. They also left behind two full pick up truck loads of stuff which didn't include our stand up freezer which we couldn't go back and get b/c we couldn't fit it in our car. Austin said they were coming with two trucks, but they showed up with one. Besides getting high every other hour in our driveway, they charged us $400 more even after we bought them lunch and gave them an $80 tip. After Loading from our old house, they disappeared for a couple of hours. The house they were meeting us at took them an extra 1 1/2 to make it too. Talk about a total disaster. read more

Requested 4 guys for two hours. Basically Austin and one other guy worked. The other ones played or were on their phone. We had set a time at 3pm. Austin text to say they would be here at 5pm because another job went late. At 5:15pm I had to text and ask what time they would be here. He said they were 25 minutes out. At 6pm they finally showed up. By 6:30 they all started working after their bathroom breaks. At 7:15 they all went on break for 20 minutes. I get it's a long day. It if you can't handle a job please don't schedule it. They also tried to finish loading the truck but didn't even get close to getting everything in. Thoroughly disappointed in the work or lack thereof and I would not recommend Swift Movers. read more

Austin priced us quite reasonably and was well under some competitors. I knew he was a small business person getting started, so took a risk after reading some good reviews (skipped over the bad ones) and speaking with him over the phone. I did have some concerns when I tried to reach out to confirm the week of the move and there was no voicemail setup and I had already given him a large deposit. But he responded to texts. The next red flag was when he asked again for the addresses, even after exchanging emails with all the pertinent information. The day of the move he was supposed to arrive at 9 am in Ithaca to my in-laws who had organized everything for the movers. Our contents were a small bedroom set and boxes that needed to arrive at my place in Harrisburg that afternoon. No show at 10, 11, and so on. No response to texts or calls. Finally he got back to me at 1:15 pm that day. Here is his response: "I am so sorry. I locked my house keys, phone and everything in my car late last night. I just got to my belonging. I can give you your money back or we can be there to load in a hour." I don't know if any of that was true, but he did not meet his end of the obligation that I paid for. I no longer trusted him and also I had prior engagements that I could not accommodate the new moving time. He proceeded to beg me over texts with over 20 messages to let him make it right. He even mentioned that a family member just died, which is what I saw in another review on the site. Red flag again. But if that was true, I am truly sorry for the loss; however I just wanted my refund. After accepting the fact that I no longer wanted his services, he has gone back to ghosting me. NO refund in sight and no response to calls or texts. This was a highly unprofessional experience and I hope that he is able to take responsibility, refund the money, and have better success down the road, should he decide to stay in the business. But I will not work with this company again. I would warm you to be cautious as well. read more

Overall, I was super-pleased. They're fast, they're strong, they're upbeat and fun guys, and sometimes it seems like they can bend the laws of physics when moving stuff around. The booking stage *was* a little rough. Austin was slow to respond for like, three days in a row, and that rubbed me the wrong way at first. HOWEVER, once we confirmed, everything from that point forward was aces. What I didn't realize is that Austin is not only the business owner (in charge of booking)... he's also out there loading and driving the truck every day. While I respect his hustle, he's *got* to get a dedicated booking person on his team, because that's the only thing in the way of him taking over the region. If I'd felt as great about it at the beginning as I did at the end, this would've been a no-brainer five star experience. read more

The three young folks they sent to move our stuff worked their butts off! They were polite, respectful, and careful with our stuff. Got an entire large POD unloaded in less than two hours. They did a great job. Note, though: please make sure your employees are provided with masks? I'm immunocompromised, and I had to give two of them masks. We wore ours to protect them, but it works best when everybody has one. I know it's hard when people are doing heavy manual labor, but we have to keep each other safe! read more

I'm in the middle of the move right now, and if it improves, I'll change my rating and review. I chose these movers because they had great reviews, but so far I'm not impressed. Booking was easy and quick, and Austin was very responsive, so far that's all that's been going well. He said they'd be here at 9 this morning. At 9:15 there's no one here, so I text to ask if they're coming. Austin said "Yes I apologize My brother died and I had to move a lot of things around The guys are grabbing some last minute supplies at uhaul and will be there I am also working on getting 4or 5 movers for that your move took two truck loads and I want everything to go smooth." If that's true, it sucks I caught him on a real bad day, but this is still our life here they're moving. The movers eventually show up at 10:45am. There's two guys and one truck. They start working, but it's a little slow. A third guy comes about an hour later and they continue to work slowly. They're not being real careful and have already broken a mirror. Then they break for lunch at 1, less than two hours later, and leave with less than half the truck loaded and all our things out of the storage unit and just lying in the street. I talked to Austin, he said he's gonna have a "halftime speech" with his guys to get them straight, but he's not here. So we'll see. And that's where I am right now. They've been gone for about an hour for lunch. Austin knew we had two storage units to move today, but at this rate, we'll be lucky to finish one. Spoke with Austin and he was helpful and flexible so I hired him for my small move. I had an issue and had to slightly change the time. Swift was right there exactly on time. They made quick work of the job and always wore their masks. Delivery at the new location was just as efficient. They do whole house and long-distance moves, too. I would never recommend this company to anyone. We had a number of issues with damage to our furniture, appliances and damage to our new neighbors lawn that Austin the owner of Swift was going to resolve. He was suppose to call the owner of the damage lawn to repair the damage his truck caused, but never made any attempt to contact them. Swift damaged our washing machine and our new leather love seat and couch and never made any offer to reimburse us for damages his company caused. Austin talks a big game but he's small time. Austin, and his company Swift Movers are terrible, worst moving company in the Syracuse area. Stay away from them. read more

I just moved today and this was my first time hiring movers. I have moved quite a few times in the last few years and I will never do it without movers again! They ran a little bit behind but communicated about it early and consistently. When they arrived they got all of my stuff loaded up in less than half an hour and unloaded at my new place very quickly as well. They were professional and super friendly throughout the process. Their price was significantly lower than any of the other moving places that I got quotes from. I will use these guys for any future moves and I will recommend them to friends and family without hesitation. (Plus they were unfazed by my crazy barking dogs. They even said it was ok to uncrate them. And if someone is nice to my dogs they are instantly on my "you have my business forever" list) read more

I'll be honest I was a little nervous booking then because they only require 2hr minimum. Most movers require 4. I had booked early and would check in with Austin over the time leading up to the move. They were late but they explained they had a late job last night that ended at 2:30am. They were extremely efficient and professional. Very friendly and work really hard. I've used other moving companies and they spend most of their time on their phone and smoking. Not these guys. These guys were amazing. I called them last minute as I was moving from CT to Ithaca and had pulled out my back. I decided it was a smart idea to have someone there when we pulled up with the 20ft uhaul to help unload it up 2 flights of stairs. Highly unprofessional. The owner took days to respond and turned his phone off without a voicemail message box. He said he would deliver our couch within a half hour time window. Fifteen minutes after he was scheduled to arrive, we try to call for an ETA but we were sent directly to voicemail. We called the furniture store to see if the couch had been picked up only to discover that they don't allow for furniture pick-ups on that day. I would not recommend this business. We took time off of work to meet the movers and were highly dissatisfied that we couldn't get in touch with them. Unprofessional business that should not be used. When I put out a request for a quote, Austin got back to me quickly and was super transparent about the process and charges - which I really appreciated when everyone else just gave a flat rate, no other info. On moving day they were super quick and efficient even after having already spent a long day moving other clients. They emptied the apartment quickly, loaded the truck efficiently, and unload quick too, all while checking in to make sure they were getting things right.
