They wanted a $3.1K deposit which she had to pay in cash because their "credit card reader failed". This amount turned out to be excessive and in violation of NY law. The work was schedule for December of last year. Without notifying her, they rescheduled the installation for March of this year... without her consent. However, my sister who signed the contract became seriously ill... is in the hospital... and would not be available to supervise the work at that later date... a date they rescheduled to do the work without my sister's consent or knowledge. As such, a demand for return of the full deposit was made and refused by Woodford. We will be taking further action. UPDATE While it was inexcusable to have withheld the deposit, Woodford is making a full refund of the remaining deposit and promised to send it certified mail the same day. My thanks to Eric for his prompt response to this matter.

Extremely disappointed with the work Woodford Brothers did in my basement…read more They did waterproofing for me a couple of years ago, and when they dug and re-poured the concrete around the perimeter of my basement, they left the floor with a significant and uneven slope. I didn't notice how bad it was right away because I've been slowly saving up and doing small projects over time to turn the space into a playroom. Once I finally started bringing in professionals to move forward, the issues became impossible to ignore. The slope is so severe that I can't get flooring installers to lay carpet, and shelving can't safely sit against the wall without leaning -- which is a serious safety hazard since this room is meant for my two-year-old. I've called the company multiple times and was told I'd receive call-backs, but no one follows up. No real solution has been offered, and they've shown no willingness to fix the problem. Even a professional from Lowe's said they had never seen a job done like this and that it absolutely shouldn't look this way. For the cost of the project and the trust I put in this company, I expected far better. I would strongly recommend getting multiple opinions before choosing Woodford Brothers.

BUYER BEWARE Less…read morethan a week after I had gutters installed by Iron Horse of Syracuse in January 2021, leakage problems had to be fixed at two separate sections. Again this year, in the exact same two spots, the same problem: the leakage resumed. Last year one of the owners (Ben) first insisted that it was a roofing problem, but when the other owner (Eric) came with him after I pressed the issue, one section was replaced. The other section was sealed. The moral of the story? Despite the same problems, in the same two sections, video, audio, still pics and all ... again, the co-owner (Ben) blames the roof--even when two separate Syracuse roofing company assessments say otherwise. My guess is that he's likely telling the same line to other customers, which is why I'm posting this review. Videos and pictures, thankfully, clearly show what I consider to be the shoddy work of this company. Specifically and importantly, they show the roof edge is intact along the entire edge. More to the point, they show the huge gap between the soffit and the gutter that was installed in January 2021 by Iron Horse. Pictures do not lie. My conversation with the same co-owner today (Ben) made abundantly clear that he could care less. Initially he offered a refund when he thought I was buying his roofing story, until I called his bluff and said 'yes.' Then, his story changed. Again. If you can avoid this company, please do. You will almost surely save yourself a headache that's hardly worth their lower pricing and quick (shoddy) work. I'll post an update once I get these sections replaced by another gutter company that doesn't operate 'in the gutter.' I'm guessing that a lot of the 5-star reviews from "customers" that have posted only 1 review are likely fake. That should tell you all that you need to know. Or, maybe it's just that every customer won't get the same 5-star service as the other "customers" here.

Real class act. Made the mistake of not inspecting the work right away, although they never asked either. (Oye vay, our house had needed a lot of work, so we did the inside, and landscaping first.. while the roof waited patiently) This month we FINALLY scheduled to have our - very old, badly maintained, bondoed.. duct taped.. (from WAY back) ..mess of a flat roof ... TOTALLY FIXED! We interviewed 3 companies and went with VANDERHOOF. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made since moving to the area. Vanderhoof came in with a swat team of capable roofers, and worked like a band of Army Engineers. They tore off DECADES of badly done roof work, layer after layer after layer. (What a mess of construction debris!) At the end of every work day, they left our yard immaculate. Then they built, and built, and restructured, and redesigned. (Flat roofs need expert attention). The work took a bit longer than they estimated due to the amazing number of layers to be removed, and their painstaking rebuilding process - but the Syracuse weather cooperated *(!!) and the work finished yesterday and it looks fantastic! (Photo shows NEW SPECTACULAR FLAT ROOF! Later I'll dig out the original roof.. it looked like a moonscape of bulbous waves and misguided historic attempts to mesh a labyrinth of disconnected ill selected materials. (We inherited it in 2016. ) I can't recommend Vanderhoof highly enough.
