This review is for the New Swift Building off of Double R. This office is a disaster ! Soooo disappointed here. Soooo disorganized and front staff is a mess. He Lady with the purple hair was so unprofessional, talking loudly to her kid on the phone, while patients waited for her finish. She speaks loudly about her personal life.. I had emergency surgery last July 13th after I fell down the stairs and broke my hip! I was going to switch from Great Basin Orthopedics, but changed my mind after being called about a bill that was denied by insurance. Girl had no clue about insurance on the phone. It was re-billed by insurance, she should have known that, MY GOD! I went in for an appt. And told the girl at the desk, that I had another appt. Next door at 3 pm, so that gave me an hour to be seen.... At 10 til3 pm, I went up and asked the other that I had to leave, as soon as I got up to the desk, my phone rang and it was SWIFT calling me and said, so sorry you missed your appt., I told him that I HAD BEEN IN THE LOBBY for an hour already, EVIDENTLY the first girl did NOT CHECK ME IN.... OH MY GOD again!!!!! THEY TOOK AN XEAY REALLY FAST, and we ran next door to my cardiologist...OMG!!!! Finished at 4 pm ,ad went back to SWIIFY where I was finally seen. They apologized, but STILL!!! Dr. lilyquist, who was the on call surgeon at NNMC and so, he did my surgery, he put 3 screws in my hip, where I should have hada total hip replacement.... Why is beyond me? Quick FIx I guess.. I am having trouble with screws, they are loose in my hip.. I can feel them when I walk, UGGH!! 6 months later it is still painful.... I went to GBO and saw Dr. Winkle, and he took an X-ray and said that i was 1/2" shorter in my left leg, WHAT????? So I had to go get a prosthetic for my shoes.... SO we go to the hangar clinic and they said I was 3/4" shorter.. MY GOD!! SO they made 2 pairs of my sketch ins , and added height to the left shoe of both pairs! I also bought a pair of crocs that were higher than normal., Hubby shaved off a little bit from the left croc, and I bought regular height crocs for tight foot, WORKS AWESOME! When i saw Dr. Winkle at GBO , he said I would need A Total Hip Replacement within the YEAR! OMG!! I am sooo not happy about that at all, wishing it would have been done in the first place, trusting the Emergency Dr., when I should not have. It cost me $400 out of my pocket for the prostethics, and that just annoys me and should be paid by Swift! I am glad to be back at GBO where the professionalism is amazing and admired! So disappointed in Swift.. When I was at Swift, when I said Lilyquist did my surgery, the Dr.s would chuckle and say Lilyquist?? He is a hand Dr...not a Hip Dr. He was the surgeon on call at NNMC! I really liked him too until he never said I was shorter on the left, and it's sooo obvious in the X-ray! read more

I recently had an injury that I needed an MRI for and chose Swift MRI. This is a beautiful state of the art facility that makes it feel more like a Day Spa. Everything is new and bright and love the bright pink accents. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The MRI only took about 20 minutes-much shorter than I had expected. I've generally had a very good experience with Swift versus ROC. Three people referred me to a certain doctor at Swift - I wasn't able to get into her, but was able to get into a doctor that works directly with her and knows her well. When I met with him, I felt very comfortable and he has done many rotator cuff repairs. I feel confident that my surgery will go well. But I will know more after the surgery. read more

I injured my shoulder and needed PT to get to healing and reduce pain. This location at Rancharrah was very convenient for me. I was also happily surprised at...yes, not kidding, the decor! It did not feel "medical". They have chosen hues of grey with bright pops of hot pink. It is tasteful and different, but still professional. Ok, beyond convenience and décor, my therepist Hannah and her assistant, Kinsey, were just super terrific. Hannah is a pro with great deameanor and abundant knowledge. The exercises she sent me home with (on paper for reference) were very doable and not something I am going to flake on because it is too much. Kinsey worked well in tandem with Hannah - they were both a delight to be around. I would not hesitate to return, should I need to. LITTLE KNOWN FACT...have you ever suffered from vertigo? Did you know physical therepists are trained in a procedure that will elimanate this condition (if caused by one of those "crystal" situations in the inner ear.). Hannah cured mine! Extra bonus! My PT person is Alexandria and she is so attentive and kind. But not so kind that she doesn't make me work! Thanks to her and her staff my ankle has been healing wonderfully! These people were the most rude and incompetent people I have ever dealt with in an possessively "professional" setting. I called multiples and left my name, phone number, date of birth, and as many details as possible and I was NEVER CALLED BACK. I started the process in January of 2023 with an X-ray and then was scheduled for an MRI. My insurance denied the doctors recommendation for an MRI, so I had to pay out of pocket. The insurance said they would approve the MRI if the doctor had a "peer to peer" conversation with my insurer. I asked for month for the doctor to do so and he never did. I called at least 10 times and got jerked around by every person I spoke to, so I eventually paid out of pocket in July 2023. The best part is I was supposed to be contacted 3-5 business days after the appointment and did not hear anything, so I eventually called the office 6 business days after the appointment and have not heard anything. If this was my institution, I would be completely embarrassed an frankly terminated. This is very sad. If this company's intent is to take care of somebody, they literally failed entirely at their responsibility. Again, I have never been contacted via email, phone, test, and had to take the complete onus personally to proactively find any "so called" results. As for the actual appointment, I was not escorted out of the office, I was never given a time or phone number to call to follow up with the results and the front desk lady had a lot of attitude and said, "you better be nice to the technicians," with an extremely snarky and rude demeanor. I will do everything in my power to go out of my way to never support this institution ever again. read more

I saw Dr. Nair there and he diagnosed me previously in 2024 that I had arthrithis in my shoulder. I have had previous surgery knowing what a torn labrum felt like. I went back in 2025 and he did a quick test and said oh you need another MRI, conclusion is I have two torn labrums. I had asked to be switched to Dr. Malcarney because she specializes in shoulders. They made me an appt I took off work and came to the appt to find out the cancelled it and did NOT call me to tell me this. I spoke to the surgery schedule Joy and she assured me she would call back within a week or so and even gave me her card. No CALLS it was 2 1/2 weeks so i called. They put me through to Dr. Nair's assistant who then tells me she called me and said that Dr. Malcarney is not taking me as a patient. I said what, no one has called me I have checked my phone and no calls have come to me. She said well I called you and I said that is a LIE. She then said I have to go and hung up. I called back and used the extension for Joy the surgery scheduler, she answered and was like why are you calling? I said because you told me you would call me back (my husband was there to witness) her response was I said someone would call you. I said that is not what you said, I said, well obviously no one has it has been 2 1/2 weeks so why would I call if someone already called me? I said what is going on there I feel like you are all trying to dig your way out of a hole. I was very upset and she said I am sorry I will have a manager call you back. Another week goes by and I get another call from Dr. Malcarney's scheduler to schedule me for an appt. I said I am super confused now as I was told she is not going to see me as a patient and I am not sure why I have never even met her. That scheduler told me she would have her manager call me back. This whole time has been about 6 weeks and now it has been another 9 days and the manager never called back. POOR FOLLOW UP - LIES - CANCEL APPTS WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PATIENT. I would NEVER go back to this place it is very poorly managed, the people flat out lie and there is no follow up. read more

Went in for a completely bogus need for a DMV form.. and after more than 10 years here myself thought they'd be awesome..HOWEVER per the DMV who wants the form in triplicate said that the Dr contradicts herself with the way she filled out the form! And when questioned she had a really to bad I say what they wanted to hear and yet instead of marking the boxes to reflect that it gonna cost a man AT LEAST 3 years of his life and to me it's a bit of bad practice! I give this a zero star don't ever make an appointment for physical therapy here you have to wait months and then when a physical therapist cancels because they have an emergency you have to wait months even more horrible, horrible business. The OT department is good. read more

A one only because I can't give a ZERO. I am trying TO PAY A BILL using a flexible spending account credit card. I have called three times over two days and left voicemails because nobody answers the phone. I never received any calls back from the billing department. On the third day, I called the front desk (appointments) to see if somebody could assist me. The female who answered said she would "try" to connect me with billing. Guess what? Another "leave a message" result!!! I left a message and advised them I refused to set up an online account with them because I would NEVER visit their office again. Do you want your money SWIFT? I won't set up an account and I won't send a check because I have a flexible spending account (the bill I received also does not allow for credit card payments to be mailed in). I do not and cannot recommend this newly-created conglomerate of formerly separate practices. I am sure the physicians are competent although it's hard to evaluate any medical practice in Reno since these practices seem to be run more by P.A.'s (Physician's Assistant) than by medical doctors. My issue with Swift Institute is similar to the problems I have found with many of the medical groups in Reno: You can't get through on the phone to anyone, voicemails are the rule, return calls are sparse, and you sit on the phone listening to music for long periods of time. It's not that the elevator music is bad, but we don't have all day to try to make or change an appointment. This is total disrespect and contempt on their part for their patients. Rather than hire some additional staff, at $20-$30 per hour, voicemail is the norm. In Reno, the average yearly salary for physicians is $246,107 per year -- and this is the average and not counting perks (per Indeed.com). Surely with a medical practice with the number of physicians Swift has, they could scrounge up enough money to hire additional staff to answer phones so they have a responsive professional practice for the patients.
