I've been to many physical therapy places, and my experience at Nevada Physical Therapy has been the best BY FAR! Seriously, save yourself some time and come here first. After struggling with chronic knee pain for years and reinjury I had tried multiple PT places without much luck. As soon as I came here I immediately could tell it was going to be better because the initial consult was longer and more in depth using actual measuring tools with strength percentages to measure muscle imbalance rather than just feeling my muscles or hips to see if they were "off." I've worked with Dakota for months and gone from limping and barely being able to walk (not good as I'm a nurse) to being able to squat 80lbs without pain at my PT session yesterday! Yes the sessions are hard and Dakota made me sweat but if you put the work in you will be so thankful for it. When talking with Dakota and the other PTs they use real evidence based studies to explain topics and treat you and are up-to-date on the latest therapies and studies which show real results. I was a Navy helicopter pilot, medically discharged in part because I threw out my back about once every other month in addition to other joint problems. If I had met Jon Hodges a couple years ago I'd still be in the Navy. Here's how Jon is unique. 1. Jon can see the whole picture. I had been to countless physical therapy visits for individual joint problems which began to compound on each other. I couldn't tell if my back pain was caused by my hip pain or if my shoulders were affected by my back pain... Jon is the first PT in 4 years to treat me as a whole. 2. He never treats to fads. He runs a factual based clinic. 3. He doesn't jump to conclusions. He works with his patients to find movements that are tolerable to strengthen/mobilize problem areas and his ability to find those movements and scale are more creative and better tolerated that any other PT/coach I've worked with (and that's a lot!) 4. One problem several PTs have is they don't push patients to their limit with their injury/pain which restricts progress. Jon makes it a point to quickly find out what that limit is and he takes you to 90%. He is able to rehab quick and make a stronger person because he is willing to take on the burden of finding that limit. I had been told that I'd never run or lift weights again. After just finishing 3 months of 2 per week visits with Jon, I'm back to both and still progressing. 5. The typical rehab at-home plan is semi-easy and boring. It's the last thing you want to fit into a busy life. Jon developed an all-inclusive rehab plan with variety which felt like a daily workout instead of the typical therapy at-home plan. It was fun and challenging, which gave me more motivation to make time for it. 6. He is not in a rush. There are no "timeslots" in his clinic. He is great at splitting his time between one on one focused hands-on work and general coaching to all, providing small corrections to patients' form and monitoring patient progress. 7. Teach a man to fish. Jon teaches his patients. He educates with factual data how and why he treats the way he does. This is valuable information I will take forward with me to ensure my programing in the future is backed up by facts and highly likely to succeed. After 2 knee surgeries (on the same knee) and 3 rounds of physical therapy, I can finally say with confidence, that I am feeling the strongest I have in close to 8 years- ALL thanks to the patience of the staff at Nevada Physical Therapy. I was an NVPT patient after sx number two and healed great. Add in more sports and injuries, three years later I was convinced a third sx was my next step- the surgeon recommended 6-8 weeks of therapy before making that decision and I'm glad we didn't listen to him there. Jon was confident that we could avoid that and immediately set in on a program best fit to my needs. Six months of consistency and strength training, we successfully avoided another surgery. Most importantly I have returned to all of my favorite activities (running, hiking, and rodeoing) with confidence in my strength! Jonathan Hodges is a lifesaver! I have chronic foot pain following 3 surgeries over the past 10 years. Throbbing, numbness, shooting fire like pain, very unpleasant and demoralizing. Jon taught me how to treat the pain through physical therapy and exercise and through mental focus. When I came to him I was struggling to walk even a few feet and icing it 24/7. At 77 I've been to quite a few PT places. Absolutely these guys and ladies are the best. From the time of my first appointment they have been there personally to handle all my questions and guide my recovery. They assign a person to tell and show u how to perform each and every exercise. Either before or after each session your program is examined and or changed to fit your progress. The personal attention even carries over to the lobby. There sits the most accommodating person scheduling your appointments. If life problems cause you to change times, no problem, she'll find another time for you and does so with a smile. I've seen Dr. Hodges for several injuries and have been really thankful for finding him. Unlike other PTs I've been to, Dr. Hodges understands the goals of an athlete and just generally how bad it sucks to be out from training due to an injury. His approach is really encouraging--instead of telling me to stop doing a specific movement or training altogether like some providers like to do, he develops treatment programs that include movements that I would have been doing in my regular training anyways. Even better, Dr. Hodges worked through my sport-specific movements to identify dysfunctional patterns and helped to correct those. AND, his approach is also evidence-based--just ask him the latest empirical account of best-practice treatment for your given issue. I have zero hesitation recommending anyone needing help recovering from and preventing injuries to Dr. Hodges. He's definitely my go-to professional whenever I even think I might be injured. Oh, and a bit about the logistics because they are a little different than what I've had in the past: The PT works 1:1 with clients for about 20 minutes and then the rest of the appointment is spent doing the correctional exercises with the help of students in-training. PTs will check in on you periodically just to confirm correct form, but you are not going in for an appointment that's entirely 1:1 with a PT. That being said, the students are usually very helpful and knowledgeable. And, the PTs have no problem answering questions if the students can't for whatever reason. read more

Very friendly and professional. Nice clean open environment. I went in for back pain and was really impressed with Crista Jacobe-Mann, P.T. She did a thorough physical analysis on my back and was great about explaining her findings in detail; always making sure that I understood. The exercises she prescribed really helped my back and I was surprised how quickly I started to feel better. The physical therapy helped relieve my pain and is also intended to strengthen the injured area going forward. After four visits I felt confident to continue my exercises on my own. I cannot more highly recommend Nevada Physical Therapy and my husband's physical therapist, Dakota Ezell, PT/DPT. My husband has a history of sciatic nerve pain which had not bothered him for 4 years. He had been an active hiker and snowshoeing/cross-country skiing enthusiast until he was injured in a snowshoeing accident last Spring. The accident severely affected his sciatic nerve pain and caused excruciating muscle spasms in his leg. He found the pain to be intolerable and was hospitalized twice for it. He was bedridden for the most part and his medication provided only a temporary respite. Although we saw a number of health providers, no lasting results were obtained until we got help from Dakota Ezell and the Nevada Physical Therapy Team. My husband was seen in three days instead having to wait the month required by other providers. My husband was seen by Dakota twice a week for a bit less than 10 weeks. Additionally, Dakota gave him a home program to supplement the physical therapy sessions and extend them to maintain his progress. My husband has continued to improve over the summer and is now 100% pain free. He is now able to climb the mountainous trail near our home and is able to hike up to 2 hours to his favorite destinations. Insurance overpaid on last visit and we filed an appeal, this place was paid double for last visit and kept the money and wants more more more. I visited Jonathan Hodges at Nevada Physical Therapy about a month after ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. I was beyond frustrated with the rehab facility I was using (which shall remain nameless) and lagging behind in my recovery as a result. I'd been running mid-distance endurance and obstacle course races prior to my injury, and the therapist at my previous facility told me I should just stop running in the wake of my knee surgery. That was devastating news, and I soon realized I needed to find another physical therapist. Jon came highly recommended due to his background in Reno's athletic community as both one of the providers for the University of Nevada's athletes and as an athlete himself (he's a halfway decent powerlifter, or so I hear). After working with Jon for over nine months, I can personally confirm his reputation is well-deserved. Jon is an evidence-based physical therapist - if I had to distill his approach, it would be his oft-repeated mantra of "no silly BS." You won't find cool-sculpting or dry-needling at this clinic. You will find barbells, plates, Keiser equipment, and bands galore, along with a diligent and professional work ethic that shared among the therapists and staff. I was a barbell novice, and Jon patiently taught me to lift safely and with excellent form to help strengthen my injured leg. In spite of some scar-tissue setbacks, I've been able to return to endurance training stronger than before and armed with the incredible education about training loads and program design that Jon provided me in the course of working with him. I think this educational aspect is what sets Jon apart from other physical therapists I've worked with: he wants to give you the tools to help you succeed once you leave his supervision. Ask him about almost any study and he'll engage in a twenty-minute dialog about the strengths and weaknesses of that study, and provide you with additional resources. That approach may not be for everyone, but for people who are serious about rehabilitation, recovery, and transitioning back into previous activity levels, Jon's your guy. And make no mistake, you don't have to be a collegiate athlete to benefit from Jon's care. My 70-year-old mother tore her bicep and I sent her to Jon for physical therapy; she was also thrilled with the rehab program he designed for her, and found him very easy to work with. The other therapists in the clinic, Crista and Ray, share Jon's ideology and approach, and are as personable and professional as he is. The staff is also a pleasure to see every week and are extremely attentive to form as they supervise the training programs. Nevada Physical Therapy was one of the PTs on a list my orthopedic surgeon gave me to set up to start my rehab. I picked Nevada Physical Therapy for 2 reasons; (1) they ranked high on Yelp with great reviews, and (2) closest to my house since someone would be driving me to and from therapy 2x a week for several months and that would be in the winter. (Sorry about this review being so late). Anyway Jon is an excellent therapist. Very knowledgeable, answers questions, and doesn't rush you through the paces. The atmosphere and work out areas were spacious so you didn't fell hemmed in by other patients. Plenty of parking, just remember to get your parking pass from the receptionist.
