Referred here. Made my first new patient appointment and the day of my appointment, I had two call outs at work and unfortunately could not make my initial appointment. After calling and explaining the situation, I was hit with a $100 rescheduling fee. Haven't signed any documents stating I'm in any financial responsibility for this so-called $100 fee. We were loyal patients. Got up early after a hard night of fever, sweats, and 103° fever. Called first thing Monday at 7 am to cancel the 3 pm appt; told we'd still be charged for "no-show." Said I'd come in contagious instead. They accepted. Money clearly matters more than patient care or staff safety. Do not recommend. I am with VA, and my wife is with Renown. I am going to cancel all further appointments with them because I do not feel safe there. Unbelievable, all for stuffing $100 into their pockets. read more

7/29/2022 I was complaining to my son about my strained back muscle and he suggested physical therapy.. Great idea!!! Just called to see if I could get in with my regular pt but she relocated....(I am Happy for her and wish her the best)! PT care is fine but office staff especially the owner Marcy is ridiculous. Billing issues with insurance and if you pay yourself instead of using insurance you still get over charged. The last straw with this place was when my wife cancelled an appointment 22 hours before her appointment because she has COVID and doesn't want to spread germs Marcy charged her a $100 cancellation fee what a complete joke this place is I hope they go broke! (below) I had a medical incident over the weekend (they are closed Saturday and Sunday) and I called Monday morning at 8:30 AM to cancel my Tuesday appointment. No Bueno. He is great!!! However, if you have to cancel within 24 hours which many post op patient will do they will charge you $100. This company is in it for the $$ not the patient. Todd's Body Shop provides the finest physical therapy I have ever received and I've been to several. I was originally referred to Todd by an Osteopath. Osteopaths understand what makes the WHOLE body work. And sure enough, Todd's physical therapy INCLUDES HANDS ON MOVEMENT, not just exercising, heat, ice and stimulation. You get all that IN ADDITION to the hands on. They have more of a full body approach than many PTs. Meaning, they believe ALL your body parts need to work well TOGETHER from head to toe. They don't limit their treatments to only the area with pain because often pain is referred to your sore spot from some other place. I originally saw Todd. But I've been to several different Todd's PTs and all are excellent BECAUSE TODD TRAINS THEM. No matter who you go to, you get the same treatment that Todd gives. At other places it will make a huge difference which PT works on you. Not so much here. They all use the same gentle movements that Todd teaches them. It's really amazing how great this place is. If you're in a hurry, that's all you need to read. If you find this review useful please vote! MY PERSONAL STORY AT TODD'S: I think I first went in almost 4 years ago, thinking the pain in my hip was coming from my back. I had a PPO which had approved 20 visits. Remember that. Todd checked me out and said he thought it was really my hip. But I was convinced it was my back because all my leg pain had always come from my back. I think it was my 2nd or 3rd visit when Todd looked at me and basically said the equivalent of "I cannot help you. You need your hip replaced. Get scheduled for a hip replacement and come see me BEFORE SURGERY and I'll get your body ready for surgery so you're straightened out and your legs will end up the right length." Remember that I had 20 pre-approved visits? And Todd said he couldn't help me. THAT is why I believed him. He is plenty busy and doesn't need customers with pre-approved visits to fill in his schedule. THAT convinced me I needed a hip. I found a great surgeon who did the frontal replacement. I went to Todd several times before surgery. My leg length is perfect. The hip was totally the reason I couldn't walk. Replacing the hip also eliminated knee pain I'd had for 19 years. I waited years longer than I should have. This surgery gave me my life back. After surgery Todd got my hip rehabbed perfectly. But that's not all. Here's the thing. I'd had an auto accident in 1989 resulting in extremely severe whiplash. At that time I had so many other issues that nobody ever suggested treatment for whiplash. So I never received any. I had learned to live with chronic neck pain and restricted movement...SO painfully restricted that it was often unsafe for me to drive. By the time my hip replacement was rehabilitated, Todd had also managed to rehab my neck. Decades after a neck injury, he was able to restore mobility and eliminate pain. This was another miracle in my life. I can safely drive. Over the years I've actually gone in and paid out of pocket when my insurance wouldn't pay because the results here are much greater than I can get from my excellent chiropractor. Todd's uses a different approach. Absolutely NO cracking manipulation. ONLY GENTLE MOVEMENTS that are life changing. And of course all the other stuff I mentioned earlier. Plenty of people seem to have a great experience here but mine was not. My biggest concern was a lack of guidance on form. after seeing the therapist, they'd hand me off to interns for the exercises. Neither they nor my Therepist instructed me on how to do the moves and the interns had a lot of difficulty fielding questions about them. This is a problem because I have chronic back pain and proper form is paramount to getting what I need out of the work and reducing the chance of further or repeat injuries. The one time I asked for form help directly from a therapist, she indicated that my form was off in a number of ways and set about correcting them one by one. I didn't really understand some of her instructions and asked clarifying questions, at which point she told me to only worry about my foot placement for the squat and forget everything else. Told me to 'stop overthinking it.' On top of all this, the office told me my copay and I authorised them to keep the card on file and automatically charge that amount. At some point, they discovered that my copay was actually twice what they thought and started charging my card. They did this at least 6 times before I noticed and called them. I understand that it's my responsibility to check out my copay, but surely it's office policy to notify a patient prior to doubling the amount you're authorised to charge on their behalf? Possibly I just had bad luck here, and my Therepist was very nice. But I won't be returning. read more

I recently started coming to Todd's after experiencing leg/back pain during marathon training. One thing I appreciate is that they spend a good amount of time (30 minutes) doing manual therapy every session. This feels so much better than a doc looking at you and then sending you off to someone else for exercises! It's also very clean and roomy. During COVID everyone is wearing masks and sanitizing between clients. My PT is Kat and she's helped wonders in a short amount of time! She made a plan to help me in the few weeks before my race and a plan for after so we can correct the problem for the future. Rating for business practices alone. I was a cash payer not using insurance and planned to pay up front. I was referred to this place and during intake they asked me to write my Credit card number, CVV code, and zip on a piece of paper so they can keep it on file. I asked if they destroyed the paper after putting my information into a protected computer system and they said no, they keep it physically in a file. After hearing that I just walked out. I just walked in on a referral, I dont know your business, I dont know ANYTHING about you but I am supposed to just trust you to leave my credit card details in a filing cabinet? This place has changed what I thought physical therapy was. I started coming to Todd's for vertigo and terrible headaches, and I thought I'd be getting same old ho-hum exercises on a mimeographed sheet and an apathetic therapist who makes you feel like it really isn't going to help. Todd's is not that place. Through efficient and professional myofascial and craniosacral work and muscle realignment, I could feel the results very quickly. When I rolled my ankle, I was encouraged to come in right away and was given ultrasound and instructed to ride a stationary bike to get the blood flow moving. I healed within a month and credit them for it. I work out a lot and I teach and grade, so this is a place where I come regularly. I brought my young son when his knee was hurting, and Dan fixed him right up. *Bonus points to the professional and friendly staff who genuinely care about their clientele.* I see Jamie most of all because I appreciate how well she knows my body's weaknesses and strengths, but I've also seen others, and they are awesome. Not an Auto-body shop as you would think from the name (haha). This place has taken Reno's physical therapy and rehab to a whole new level. Kat is awesome and for a tiny woman she is quite strong when needs to be. Todd is great and so is the rest of the staff, Maddy, I can't name them all but all are very friendly and professional. They have all the tools for a therapy rehab center plus a whole gym in the back. One thing I wished they had was the hydro treadmill which is a great machine that my last therapy place had. Overall though great place for just about everything. They also have a great reputation in the medical field as Todd has kept up some great relations. Go see Dan! He is AMAZING. I have been having this lower back pain for years and have seen another PT to no avail. My brother recommended Dan to me, so I made an appointment. They were even open the week of Christmas! Dan knew exactly what my issue with within minutes of us meeting and speaking. Wow! He spent 10 minutes adjusting me a little and then I felt like a million bucks! The issue is chronic so it will take some work, but just knowing that I now know exactly what the issue is and what to do is such a relief. This place is unlike any other PT place I have been. Summary: I was dismissed as a patient because I refused to put a credit card on file. I have been a patient of this practice for years and have always paid my balance and called my insurance to ensure my medical claims are paid on time. My account has always been in good standing. Last Friday, the office manager, Marci, told me that she would call me with the amount of my copayment. So I left without paying per her request, but I had another appointment on the following Friday and thought I would pay it then. She called and left a message on my cell that I owed $20 dollars. I thought it was small balance and that I would pay it when I returned to the office in a few days. Over the course of the four days that passed they called my phone three times while I was at work. I ignored it because I work in medicine and am very busy at work. The last call they said they would charge my account another $15 for sending out an invoice for my $20 copayment if I didn't pay by phone. So I called the office and asked to pay the bill in person the next day. They insisted I put a credit card on file and pay the bill immediately. I refused to put a credit card on file because my information was stolen from another office and was uncomfortable. I explained that to them. But they still insisted a credit card be put on file or my appointments would be cancelled if I refused. So I went to the office paid my bill of $20 and was dismissed as a patient. I work in health care and can't imagine treating a patient this way. I am still in shock over it. If you're reading this, please find another office that isn't so money grubbing. read more

Hands down the very best Physical Therapy shop in Reno. I've been through 9 rounds of PT in Reno over the last 5 years after 2 spinal fusions. I called in a pinch and they got me in within a day. Dan focused on manual manipulation rather than just throwing a ton of exercises at me for me to do on my own! He explained every step of the way and fit me in again 2 days later for a recheck. He even worked on my neck in addition to the lower back as all are connect; first PT to even head this direction! They also focus on no traditional PT such as help with migraines and even ADHD. Todd and the staff are great. I had brutal pain in my groin area after two hip replacements. In fact, I thought it was a pulled groin muscle. I had been to our regular physical therapist and no relief. My son suggested that I try Todd. Todd had seen this several times and knew how to fix me. Some joint between my backbone and hips was frozen, not flexing (or something like that). After one session I was 60%, after two 80%, after three 90%. By the fourth visit I was pain free. My therapy results have always been great - sometimes it just takes a few visits and other times longer , but Todd always makes me feel welcome. Unbelievable!! At a time when everyone needs to be responsible and considerate of others, this establishment is NOT. I woke up with a headache and thought I was ok to go to therapy - until I started having other symptoms (low grade fever and aches and pains. I called immediately and told the receptionist that I had a fever and headache and thought it was best to cancel my appointment. She thanked me and said no problem and of course you will not be charged. I looked at my cc statement and saw a $75. fee for the day I was sick. I called and spoke with Marsha (Todd's wife) and she said she would not reverse the charge because I did not call at 7am when they opened. I told her that I would be calling my Discover card to dispute the charge, She said, "go ahead, you signed a waiver that you cannot dispute any charges." To which I stated, so, you would rather me come to your place of business sick and possibly infect others during a pandemic? I have called my credit card and disputed and will not be going back. Dan is amazing! He has been working on me for about two months and already I feel a significant improvement in my neck and lower back. My neck especially has been hurting for a year and it got so bad that I finally went in. A broken elbow is a nasty and painful injury. I was referred here to rehab and finally actually straighten my arm. My appointment was at 5pm, I arrived promptly at 4:30 to fill out paperwork as instructed. I was told I would see Todd in "just a minute". 1 hour and 10 minutes later (5:40pm) I was taken back to see Todd. During this time a high school football player arrived with his entire family and was immediately taken back. Two young girls proceeded to play with the dog that they let run around the facility, one of whom was bitten and began crying hysterically. This brought forth a series of shocks to the dogs collar (cruel) but the animal was never put away in another area. The child and her mother were told "not to get the dog worked up" When finally taken back to see Todd, he rubbed my elbow and surrounding tendons for 10-12 minutes, explained nothing, passed me off to an assistant and told her what he wanted me to do. The assistant then asked me "what did he say to do again?" I relayed as much as I could to her. She gave me 7 minutes of ultrasound, and when I asked her what this was for.... "I really don't know. You'd think I would since I work here. Hahaha" She then attached some electrodes to my arm and wrapped it with ice, then left. The machine ran its course and beeped when it was finished. At this time all personnel were busy with the football player and I was told "I'll unhook you in just a minute". She then walked away, never to return. I unhooked myself from the device and began to leave. Todd hollered from across the room "just do those exercises like she showed you and you'll be ok in no time" I responded simply "what exercises?" "Oh, they didn't show you what to do? Hold on" I was then handed a piece of paper (a feat I could have pulled off myself using the Internet) and told to reschedule my next appointment. I will never be back. This is the most unprofessional atmosphere I have yet to witness. So much that it forced my first review of anything. read more

My arm was becoming less and less flexible. My doctor sent a referral to Todd's Body Shop. Within 6 weeks, Dan had returned my arm to its previous flexibility. The treatments were effective. I was given a heat pad to relax the muscles. I was taught exercises to enhance the healing. Following the treatment, I was given an ice pack and TENS to speed up healing and relieve any soreness.
