She is highly competent, thorough, and clearly excellent at what she does. What really sets her apart, though, is her demeanor--she has a naturally cheerful and reassuring presence that immediately puts me at ease and noticeably improves my mood. Appointments never feel like a cold, transactional medical visit. Instead, they feel thoughtful, supportive, and human. During my initial consultation with Dr. Zollinger, I pointed out the exact location of my pain, but…read morehe sat approximately three feet away from me. The surgeon's PA later specifically told me that my pain was coming from my right SI joint. Despite this, the procedures I ultimately received did not target the SI joint. I am particularly concerned because I was told that SI joint ablation is not covered by my insurance. That leaves me questioning why a different procedure was performed and whether insurance coverage influenced what was done. I cannot say that was the reason, but as a patient, I believe it is a reasonable concern when the procedure performed does not match what I understood I was there to receive. I also had a very difficult physical reaction to each procedure. About 10 minutes afterward, I nearly passed out from the extreme pain. This happened after all four procedures--two diagnostic procedures and two actual ablations. None of this was documented in the reports I received. I had to repeatedly call to obtain the reports, and when I asked that my reaction be added to the record, my request was refused. I subsequently sent the reports to my surgeon's PA, who told me that the ablations were for lower back pain. That was not my understanding of what I was supposed to have done, and I have experienced intense lower back pain since the procedures. I am still not certain what was actually targeted. My experience has left me extremely disappointed and concerned about the care I received. I would strongly encourage anyone considering an invasive procedure here to make absolutely certain that the exact area being treated, the specific procedure being performed, and the reason for it are clearly explained and documented beforehand.

You never know what you'll get with him, sometimes he's paying attention and a nice guy and sometimes he's a completely different person. He pushed and pushed for me to do all day Ketamine treatments that didn't do anything. When the time came to move from Reno to a major university hospital in another state for treatment, he cancelled my very last appointment and when my father went in to pick up my prescriptions he realized that my prescription for the Fentanyl Patch (which I had been on for years) wasn't there. My father was told that this was the doctor's decision and when my father asked if he could speak to the doctor, he was rudely told NO and that THIS WAS THE DOCTORS DECISION! Then my mother called and asked "why aren't you titrating him down slower?" But she was told the same thing, NO! So, not only was I being transported by car to another state (which caused me incredible pain and suffering) I was also going through withdrawals at the same time...thanks to this cruel, vile man. Amazing, totally amazing…read more I had written to my primary care doctor through MyChart to request a referral to see a pain specialist. I had an appointment with him scheduled in a week, and he replied that we could discuss it then. No urgency, no help in the moment. In the meantime, I tried calling a pain management office within his own network (Carson Tahoe Health), hoping to bypass the referral. Unsurprisingly, they said no. I was in a lot of pain, frustrated, and feeling hopeless, until God sent me an angel. Someone told me about Dr. Nairzi and his walk-in urgent care orthopedic clinic in Reno (United Pain Urgent Care). I drove there, arriving at 5 PM. Within just over an hour, I was evaluated and treated with facet joint injections at C2-C3. For the first time in years, I was pain-free. I don't know yet if this will be a permanent fix, but the fact that I could walk in and be treated the same day with no referral was absolutely life changing. I now have a follow up appointment at his main clinic to explore longer term treatment options in case the injections wear off. This is how healthcare should work. Not delayed by bureaucracy or driven by profit, but centered on compassion, urgency, and the patient. God Bless Dr. Nairzi and his incredible staff for their vision, care, and for being the kind of doctor we so desperately need more of in this broken system.

I just moved to Tahoe Donner from the Bay Area so I'm not used to only having 1 dr. to see. He gave me a few vicadin and was supposed to call to schedule an epidural. I was getting them by a "real dr" before this idiot, I had to remind Dr. Blake to look over my MRI because he forgot he he ordered one for me before his departure from Truckee. I phoned Dr Blake's office prior to Thanksgiving. I spoke again on the answering machine. Again, no response. I'm am over it. I'll go back to Stanford where I won't get the shotty treatment.
