Isamar is one of the few exceptions that we found to this rule. The pastrami sandwich in particular was quite tasty. They put some unconventional ingredients like ketchup in there. When the lady at the front recommended the sandwich, I was a skeptic, but after the first bite, found that the flavors meld in a very pleasant way. Pastries were flaky and fresh. The flan was rich and its slightly firmer texture was a nice touch. As a warning, do not get traditional breakfast food like the egg platters, unless if faux-egg consistency suits your style. My friend had that, and he said it was no better than Mc Donald's. Service was likewise excellent, and the lady behind the counter fielded my questions patiently (especially me badgering her about the ketchup that was to be squirted into my sandwich). That was by far the yummiest. Another bonus of Isamar was the wonderful service. The bakery is family-owned and we always had friendly and attentive service on each visit.
