First time trying this place because I really wanted to try Molly's Big Dill Caesar Wrap. They have a limited menu with a variety of healthy wraps and salad bowls. You place your order through a kiosk, which is convenient, but I wish there were an option to customize certain items on the side. For example, the wrap I ordered comes with a pickle inside, but I wanted mine on the side. I had to place my order first and then let an employee know, hoping they would remember to make the change. The wrap itself was pretty good. The tortilla was soft and chewy, and the wrap was a good size. Some of the chicken was a little dry, but it was still edible. I'm glad I got the pickle on the side because it would have been too tart for my liking mixed into the wrap. Overall, I enjoyed the flavor of the wrap and liked all the vegetables in it. Overall, Sweetgreen just wasn't for me. I had heard really good things and was excited to try it, but the quality didn't match the price in my experience. My rice was hard and crunchy, even though I paid extra for it, and the portions of chicken and steak were much smaller than I expected. I think they could improve by being more consistent with portion sizes, making sure items like rice are fresh and properly cooked throughout the day, and ensuring the quality matches what customers are paying. I understand healthier food can sometimes cost more, but when you're paying a higher price, the quality and portions should reflect that. Overall, the combination of the price, portions, and food quality really took away from the experience for me. Unfortunately, I don't think I would come back based on this visit. read more

Kiosk only order with service from employees who are frustrated to help. There was no mix in option for dressings, so when asked how to approach having it mixed it was told to write "mix" next to name of order. Nonetheless, dressing still came out on the side. After receiving my dressing on the side, the same employee who helped me at the kiosk seemed frustrated that I still wanted it mixed. Every other sweetgreen I've gone to has mixed a salad with no problems??? Quality was worse than what I usually expect at sweetgreen, steak was cold, and very small portions for a $19 salad. This review is based off a Door Dash order. I wanted something healthy for lunch today and decided to order Sweetgreen to try for the first time. I ordered the Harvest Bowl with pickled onions added because I was craving Sweet Potatoes. The Harvest Bowl comes with antibiotic-free roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, roasted almonds, wild rice, organic shredded kale and balsamic vinaigrette. The portion was huge and the lunch was beyond filling - I ate the whole bowl! They have so many bowls that sound amazing - the Crispy Rice Bowl, Chicken Pesto Parm (might order this one next time), Steak Honey Crunch and even a Omega Glow with Salmon! They also offer wraps, salads, protein plates, kids meals and even sides like Focaccia Bread, Brussels Sprouts and chips. I visit Sweetgreen about every other month, and as a regular customer, I think I finally understand how this location operates after reading some of the other reviews. Whether you dine in or place an order through the app, everything is served in to-go containers, and there seems to be very little interaction with the staff. What concerns me most is the timing of mobile orders. Today, I placed a pickup order for 1:00 PM, and my food was ready on time. However, the label on my bowl said "Best enjoyed fresh at 10:45 AM." That left me wondering: what's the purpose of selecting a pickup time if the food is prepared more than two hours beforehand and sits waiting until pickup? From both a freshness and food safety perspective, this doesn't make much sense. It also makes me hesitant to use the app for future orders. For example, if I placed a dinner pickup order for 7:00 PM first thing in the morning, would my food be prepared hours in advance as well and left sitting on shelf? Don't get me wrong--the food itself is consistently fresh, delicious, and one of the reasons I keep coming back. My concern isn't with the quality of the ingredients but with the mobile ordering process. Until this issue is addressed, I'd be hesitant to recommend placing scheduled pickup orders through the app. I hope Sweetgreen improves this system because I'd hate to stop being a regular customer. read more

I was super excited when sweet greens opened a location in the downtown/Midtown area of Of Sacramento. Parking is pretty impossible, and most people will order food to go either from the app or the kiosk at the counter. Diners tip: use the app if this is a place that you will frequent because they do offer specials and there is a point system. They offer a variety of salads that are already created on their menu, or you can pretty much create your own. Most if not all of their offerings are pretty healthy, and if you're looking to increase your protein, your veggies, or just have a good meal, this place is for you! My last visit was a little rough. I actually lucked out and found a place to park, so of course, I thought that it was kismet for me to be able to dine in. The one thing that I don't like about ordering at the kiosk is that there isn't anyone that can answer questions or assist you with your order. It makes the process feel more complicated than it needs to be. I had wanted to ask about one of the dressings, and possibly add a different one to my order, and ended up having to wing it. Keep in mind there are people working behind the counter, but they're not there at least for my experience to help the customer. You pretty much place your order and they may or may not call you when it's ready. I had planned to dine in, and after waiting more than 10 minutes for my order, I asked at the Pick Up counter about it and found out that somebody had forgotten to make my salad. Then when it was ready, it was given to me in a to go bag. I took that as a sign that I wasn't meant to dine in... Sadly, I should have checked my order anyway, before I left the restaurant. As it turns out, my salad was missing a number of items that I had wanted and paid for such as extra protein, and different salad add-ins. I had this bowl at the other location; it was so delicious that I had to order it again here while taking advantage of the offer. It was a literal win-win situation. I customized the Chicken Tostada Bowl with baby spinach, white rice, raw carrots, tomatoes, cilantro, tortilla chips, feta crumble, and antibiotic-free blackened chicken. I included an extra addition of the lime cilantro jalapeño sauce and sweetgreen hot sauce. I was pleased with the execution of the bowl. The ingredients were beyond fresh and locally sourced. The flavor completely satisfied my taste buds. The bowl was portioned greatly, and thus was fulfilling. I enjoyed consuming the bowl in front of the establishment outdoors. This location presented a nice, peaceful environment in the heart of Midtown Sacramento. The parking situation was a bit of a challenge, since the Ice Blocks development is known to be busy in general. I'd prefer visiting the location on Fair Oaks + Howe, for the reason that parking is much easier. However, the Midtown location is just as great and meets expectations. Our friend Cecilia has been raving about this place for a year now. She has even bought stock in the company. We saw one in SF the last time we were there, but weren't ready to sit down for a meal. Recently they opened up this location in the Ice Blocks, I had no idea it was there till I was on Yelp today looking for somewhere to eat dinner and it popped up. It's not located in the heart of the Ice Blocks near Shake Shake and Sees Candy. It's on S and 17th Street closer to Ernesto's Mexican Food. If you are facing Mendocino Farms go to the left of the building down the street behind Mendocino Farms and it's on the Corner of the next street. I'm sorry if I'm not describing the location well, but it's hard to find. We parked in front of Shake Shack in the metered parking. We used the parking app and paid around $3.25 for an hour. It was plenty of time as it's more of a fast food restaurant where you order using an app, you can pay with cash or card, they make your order and. You get a text when it's ready. If you choose to pay cash when the food is ready they check you out. When you approach SweetGreen you will see some outdoor seating. It was warmer outside than it was inside. When you go into SweetGreens they all greet you with a warm welcome. They have some tables lining the wall to the left. There have a sign directing you to the kiosks for you to order on your left. They have 3 kiosks and a menu on the wall that is digital. We sat down and looked at the menu before ordering as it was our first time there. Celcila recommended the Harvest Bowl so that is what we got. We left everything as is with the exception of the dressing. They said up to 3 so I choose 3. I though they would give you 3 containers of dressing so you could try them all, but instead they put all 3 dressings on the salad. I chose the one it came with, green goddess, and a ginger one. Thankfully the mixture was delicious. If you get the harvest bowl with out making any changes it comes with chicken, kale, sweet potatoes (I wish there were more. There was one big one then a sliver of one or two), red cabbage, goat cheese (They give you 2 scoops, it's very good, you have to scoop a little with each forkful.), apples (they said they were in there, but I didn't find any, roasted almonds (There were plenty of those, they added a nice crunch.), wild rice, 760 calories $14.45. I love the low Calories. We should have ordered 2 different things and shared them. Instead we ordered the one harvest bowl and shared it. Then we came home and split a can of soup so were were full after that. I really wanted to try the salmon protein plate. I really enjoyed the bowl. It was very tasty, but I really wish there were more sweet potatoes. I liked that they were warm on a cool winters night. The biggest con and why we didn't order another dish, even though I was ready to, was it was cold inside and my husband was uncomfortable due to it was cold and he even had a sports coat on. I agree it was cold in there and the cold air was blowing on us as we were sitting and eating. In the end I really liked the food, it appeared to be nutritious, and I try to be healthy so, yes I reccomend SweetGreens and I'd eat here again, but I would sit in another spot and hopefully it will be warmer. I saw some seats around the corner from the service area on the way to the bathrooms. Maybe it will be warmer over there. I went back the next day with my girlfriend to share a healthy meal together. She ordered the harvest bowl and got much more sweet potatoes than I did the day before. I tried the chicken and avocado bowl with kale instead of reg lettuce and it wasn't as good. Both had light dressing, but the chicken avocado was too light. Next time I'll order medium dressing. I would not order the Chicken avocado bowl again. I've always been content with the portion sizes but his latest one was just disappointing. The portion sizes were so small. There's not TOO much seating, but I've also never seen every seat full, so it seems most people do takeout or eat quickly enough to turn over seating. Wouldn't recommend it for a big group, but if you're a party of 1-3 you'll be able to find seating without an issue. The food itself has always been consistently fresh, tasty, and enjoyable. The menu changes surprisingly often for a chain, and while my personal go-to is the Crispy Rice bowl, I've branched out a few times to the specials and haven't been disappointed. My partner always goes for some variant of the Harvest bowl and says the goat cheese is her absolute favorite part (and a discontinued basil dressing...hoping they bring that back someday)! I will say that being a loyal follower of "Sweetgreen" on social media for several years, the anticipation of one opening in the Sacramento area was a very pleasant surprise. I had been to one of their locations in the Bay Area as well as the Los Angeles area so I was no stranger to their concept. Located at the corner of 17th & S St's in the heart of Midtown Sacramento, this very popular salad company finally debuted on Wednesday 11/26/2025. I ended up coming here just a couple days later during the afternoon of Friday 11/28/2025 at around 1:30pm. This area can get a little tough to park as you are in close proximity to Ice Blocks as well as a Safeway store that is just a couple blocks away. As for their other locations, this rabidly popular company currently has around 250 brick-and-mortar restaurants in 24 states (as of late-2025). A second Sacramento location is located at Howe Ave/Fair Oaks Blvd (which opened in December 2025). In all honesty, I am quite surprised that it took this long for Sacramento to jump on the Sweetgreen bandwagon. As for the interior layout, this place offers limited seating (as many people take their salads to-go) as well as a dedicated pick-up area and a dedicated ordering station (similar to that of a Chipotle). I also wanted to add that there are two gender-neutral restrooms towards the rear of the building. Before dining here, I highly recommend downloading the Sweetgreen app (on Apple/Android devices) to help simplify the process. This is where they have "featured" bowls that are the most popular as well as salads, protein plates, sides, desserts, drinks, and kids meals. What I particularly like is that you can customize any bowl of your liking. Everything that ranges from kale, arugala, quinoa, rice etc. to veggies, nuts, breadcrumbs as a topping, and for premium toppings, they offer antibiotic-free proteins; chicken, steak, tofu, and much more. With the amount of creations that are available, the possibilities are absolutely endless. I ended up ordering (on the app) the "Steak Honey Crunch" salad; this consisted of caramelized garlic steak, tomatoes, garlic breadcrumbs, pickles onions, herbed quinoa, chopped romaine, and hot honey mustard sauce. I also opted for roasted sweet potatoes as a side. My lady went with their "Chicken Pesto Parm" bowl which also offered a ton of delicious, nutritious, and filling toppings. Total time it took from when we placed our online order to when it was ready took a total of 8 minutes. Once we made our way into the building, both our orders were ready with our names listed in bold font in the pick-me-up area. Now the most important part, how did this taste? I will say that all ingredients are fresh and with the amount of quinoa, greens and steak, the amount of fiber & protein kept me full throughout the entire afternoon. And for $18 (after tax), it was a bit on the higher end than what I'd like to pay but it was nonetheless a delicious salad. Interestingly enough, we both made no interaction with the staff as everything was done virtually through the app. They do offer recycled utensils & napkins while their trash bins distinguished metals, plastics, and compost items. All in all, "Sweetgreen" is a breath of fresh air to come to the Sacramento area as this area needs more healthy options. New healthy eats in Midtown! sweetgreen opened their Midtown location in November, and it's been a great addition to the food scene in the R Street Corridor. I've been twice, and overall, I'm satisfied with their food and love their customizations. Portion sizes are generous, and both times I've had enough food to bring a second serving home. I've ordered the Garlic Parm Cauli Bowl and Harvest Bowl. The rosemary bread is a must, and it's complimentary with bowls, so make sure to add it to your order! I like that you're able to customize your bowls to your liking, but it can get a little cumbersome doing so in store at one of three tablets. There's essentially no service, and this is more of a grab and go spot, even though both times I've opted to dine in. The restaurant is clean and chic, and there's limited indoor and outdoor seating. I also ordered the hibiscus Berry tea for the first time and it was just okay. It needed to be a little bit more sweeter for my liking. As this location is on S Street in Midtown, street parking maybe a little tricky but I had no difficulty finding parking on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were friendly by saying hello when each person entered. It was easy to place my order on one of the iPads and my food came out fairly quickly. They have several seats indoor and outdoor if you wish to dine in. Also, get the sweetgreen app so you accrue points! I feel like the amount of food, and quality of the food as described in the menu description, the price is pretty reasonable. I suspect because there isn't much labor or employees involved, therefore the pricing of the meals are able to be a little lower. The beef is hormone free and grass fed. The roasted chicken is antibiotic free. For that type of quality stated in the menu, the prices are reasonable. It is healthy and simple. Apple ginger was a little watered down to me, but still refreshing. Apple pomegranate was tart, to my liking! Very refreshing as well. They both tasted fresh and not sweet like canned or premade juice. I like it for what it is. Perfect for a quick healthy no fuss meal. I'm glad I can add this into my rotating restaurants for salads. I pass by SweetGreen all the time and it seems like a spot that a lot of people go to. Location wise it's right in midtown and parking can be a hit or miss. Decided to finally check it out after my gym workout and I was pretty excited to try it. It's modern on the inside with seating and tables and you can see your food being made. It's a self order system, there's 3 tablets and you can choose what you want and they call you by your name , phone number is optional. I got the Steak Mezze protein bowl it sorta bummed me out because it doesn't even come close to what it looks like on the picture. The atmosphere inside also felt very fast and to have a more relaxed feel would be to sit outside. Lots of people waiting in the front and door dashers coming in and out . For the price of almost $20 it's not even worth it. It did taste great but the serving size was laughable. Wasn't satisfied at all in any way, I'm still hungry as I'm typing this. First time here 3/6 Walked in read the sign that says " this way to order assistance " Told Lauren it's my first time but she seemed to be in a bad mood and was sending everyone to the kiosk . Maybe a short staff issues which could make sense for all the tables being dirty with crumbs on them . The food had good flavor. Even though they were out of many ingredients.The presentation was eh not like I was expecting. This is one of my favorite healthy food options especially when I'm training and want some really clean food options! Once you place your order you can literally pick it up in 5 minutes, they are quick n fast and everything is customizable to your taste. The Food prep people at SweetGreen's are very nice and helpful and accommodating. The restaurant has a few spots to dine in but I mostly take out .. Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had. By far the worst slop bowl I've tried. Super greedy with the protein but will load your plate with greens that just take over the entire flavor of the bowl. Not to mention how the workers treat you as if you're bothering them when I'm just trying to order. I never write reviews but I felt the need to this time. Great concept and everything tasted good, but when I went they ran it of both types of rice, steak, and several other options. Ordering at the kiosk takes a while when each option you're interested in is missing an ingredient that requires finding a substitution. Other than that, it's a reasonably fast and healthy option for food in midtown, so I have no qualms about the food. The indoor and outdoor dining areas aren't much to speak of, but they get the job done with about as much style and practicality of a Chipotle. read more

I LOVE that a new healthy restaurant opened in midtown. This place has so many menu options. Between the salads and the bowls, you cant go wrong. Everything is customizable. The ingredients are locally sourced and organic. The service is fast and efficient. It's very easy to order from the menu. The restaurant is vibrant and welcoming. The staff members are enthusiastic and don't mind answering questions. Can't wait to try everything on the menu! read more

First time trying Sweetgreen -- I was excited since I've heard good things. My customized bowl came out to $24, and this was the amount of chicken in this large bowl. When I showed them and asked for a little more, one employee initially told me yes, but after checking with a manager, she told me portions had been reduced "recently" from 4 oz to 3 oz and that I was free to purchase "more". For that price, I was definitely let down and won't be returning. read more

My family and I were looking for something fresh and decided to make a pit stop here. I loved that we were greeted as soon as we walked in. So excited Sacramento has a sweetgreen! I have not had one bad experience here. It's SUPER quick, healthy, tasty, and the prices are great. Especially if you sign up for their loyalty program. I live just down the street and it's my new obsession!!! The workers are also really friendly. I only ever take it to go so can't speak to the atmosphere really. read more
