This is the second time we have been to Jacks. The first time was in Midtown. This location is bigger and has more seating. It is a counter order style restaurant. When we walked up to the counter we were greeted by the cashier and we were asked if we had any questions. We did not and so we placed our order and paid and was given a number for our table. The fries came out first and we were looking forward to them but sadly they were lukewarm and soft. I wished they were hotter and more crunchy. I had the Blackened Salmon Cobb salad and it was so refreshing and delicious. You cant tell from the photo but the salad did have avocado, blue cheese, tomato, egg, grilled corn, pickled radish, green onion, and lemon-herb vinaigrette. It was at the bottom of the bowl which kind of made it hard to mix. I wish it was on top of the romaine. My husband said the tri tip was good. BLTA sandwich was really good but the turkey is always dry/overcooked and the veggies are undercooked. What can help is white wine/vermouth in the turkey pan. I have made turkey 5 years in a row and highly suggest looking at Sam the cooking guys turkey recipe on YouTube. Plenty of seating but could use some more character in the decorations. read more

I've eaten at Jack's Urban Eats before, but this experience completely ruined it for me. I found a piece of plastic in my mac & cheese. Not hair. Not something questionable. Actual plastic. That alone is bad enough, but the customer service somehow made it worse. Before I even went back to the store to ask for a refund, I called several times and was put on hold for a very long time, with no one actually helping me. That should've been my first red flag. When I did go back in person, all they could offer was a refund--no genuine apology, no concern, no effort to make it right. Finding plastic in your food is a serious issue, and they treated it like I was just unhappy with the taste. Between the plastic in my food, the long hold times, and the complete lack of customer service, I won't be coming back. I absolutely love this location. There's something about the outside and inside environment that makes it magical. The ease of ordering is super nice. All the staff here are really friendly and helpful. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The food is made fresh and I love that you could see what all the employees are doing. I cannot believe I have not made a review here. This was my first location to try Jack's Urban Eats. I've had their tri tip sandwiches with crispy fries many times. My now favorite is building your own salad. You pick your greens, toppings, and then the dressing. They toss it up for you. It's awesome just like that. For an extra fee, you can add a protein!! This location has indoor and outdoor seating. Employees have always been helpful and friendly. The bathroom has always been clean. The parking is normally ample. It's a shared parking lot with other businesses. Peak seasons can be tricky. Overall, a nice place to meet friends or family for a meal. I used to be OBSESSED with Jack's. The salads were amazing and the Mac & Cheese was sooo good. But, I don't know if it is a change in management or cost of living, but some things are still good and others are blah. First, you can't even look at the produce anymore to decide on your salad - the staff shoo's you to the register. I just had the tri tip sandwich. Still delicious! That mango bbq sauce is outta this world. I also ordered a side of macaroni. I call it that because over the last two years or so, the Mac & Cheese has been sporadic. Sometimes, shoot, most of the time now it is just macaroni. What happened to the cheese? Is cheese now too expensive? Does it take too long to make the sauce? I mean, at this point, maybe just take it off the menu if you are going to false advertise. Or, just change it to "bland macaroni." I am sure some people will still order it, but at least you will set proper expectations. I should just stick to salads (and pray the produce looks appetizing) and sandwiches. I pretty much had given up on going to my regular Jack's urban eats, because the quality, the portions, and let's face it, the prices have all changed. I was finding that the quality of food, and the portions had diminished so much that with the increase in price it just was no longer a reasonable place to enjoy good food. And then this happened... We were over in the Arden area, specifically at Loeman's plaza, and decided to stop in to Jack's. I was rather hesitant, but I jumped in and ran with it. I'm so glad that I did. This location made me love Jack's all over again. Are the prices still high? Of course. But the food quality, taste, and overall yummy is still there. The portions could be better, I think we're all looking for what we used to enjoy versus what we are currently enjoying. We ordered the steak salad and the spicy buffalo sandwich, and their original intent was to share. I ordered the urban fries instead of the regular fries with the spicy buffalo sandwich. I'm used to the fries definitely having more urban goodness poured over them, and this was definitely lacking, as was the portion size. The spicy chicken sandwich was really good. It was perfectly covered in buffalo sauce, cooked perfectly, and was really good. I wasn't a fan of the bun and it makes me question if they've changed vendors. The bun just seemed to be off. The steak salad was really tasty. With a variety of green goodness from kale, avocado, and so much more goodness, tossed into the salad, and almost was like the steak was a sidenote. Just because it was tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly, could've used more seasoning, but it was good nonetheless. There's plenty of parking, and parking is free. I've been to different locations for years now and at each one it's been pretty consistent. For this location located inside Loehmann's Plaza, it's always very busy no matter what time/day it is so it can be a little difficult to find parking. That being said, it's all a very large public, free, unlimited parking lot so you'll find a spot eventually. In this location, there is a lot of outdoor or indoor seating so it's great to come with a large group even if it's impromptu. For indoor seating, they have sturdy wooden tables and most of the chairs are very comfortable cushioned booths, 5/5 for all the seating. If you're dining in, you walk up to the counter and order, then you're given a number on a stand and can choose anywhere to sit and they'll bring your food to you. I always order Urban Fries as they are deliciously salty and spicy. Sometimes I ask to put more of the Blue Cheese Dressing as I feel it could always used more. If you're feeling like splurging, adding 6 oz of the Chargrilled Tri-Tip (can be up to $11 extra) makes this a delicious meal in itself. I ordered the Steak Salad and you can substitute any ingredient out for another, they have a lot of options. The combination of the savory tri-tip, tangy vinaigrette dressing, salty blue cheese crumble, and sweet dried cranberries make this a very flavorful and filling salad. It really matters what you order/personal taste; for instance I've tried the Mac N Cheese and personally don't like it as I don't find it flavorful/cheesey enough. I've ordered these 2 dishes many times and they're my favorite as they've always been consistently delicious. The only downside is it can be on the pricer side so I don't eat here as often as I'd like. The customer service was pretty standard. You only really contact employees when ordering and receiving your meal, mostly everything is self-serve from seating yourself to grabbing your own drinks/utensils/to-go containers. The tomato bisque soup is always amazing and butThe turkey chowder is seasonal is like a warm hug from my favorite aunt today. However, they went above and beyond the usual service and delivery of amazing food and someone went into the trashcan because my keys had fallen in there and got them for me. I eat at the midtown location a lot and haven't been to this one in several years. I met with a friend on my lunch break today & ordered a custom salad with tri tip. The tri tip was very small, thin pieces of meat with zero flavor. The cucumbers are extremely bitter and taste rotten, they're seriously so bad. I thought the first one I had was bad & spit it out and tried another one and spit that one out too. They literally taste horrible. I ordered broccoli on my salad and was surprised to see it was steamed broccoli instead of raw broccoli like most salad places. There were also a ton of brown old pieces of lettuce too. Very disappointing experience. The salad was completely tasteless, including the dressing, which had no flavor at all, and the steak was equally bland and lacked seasoning. When I called to address the issue, I spoke with an inexperienced manager who offered no meaningful help and simply said there was nothing they could do because the order was placed through DoorDash. The food tastes very good. I love the build your own salad. Their roasted mushrooms just make the salad better than making one at home. Service is pretty good. And the dine in areas are clean. They have partitions so you feel a sense of privacy. However, there is ALWAYS something wrong with the orders. I go there very often for the salad. But literally every single time, something is not right. A few times I ordered chicken with my salad and got turkey. Sometimes they have the wrong dressing. And sometimes they miss a topping or give a wrong one. I can't remember a time my order is 100% correct. Just make sure you check your order before you pick up and leave. This is a great place but today they just sold me a Cobb salad with salmon with a tiny piece of salmon and no eggs. It was missing other ingredients as well. This was my first time coming to this location and I had a positive experience. First, the customer service was great, much more friendly than the Folsom location, the servers seemed more helpful. The food was also delicious along with the presentation on your plate, bc let's be honest, the food should be neatly placed and looking fresh to eat! :-)The Reuben was very tasty, I'm a big fan of corned-beef especially during St. Patrick's day and this was nicely balanced with the flavor and juiciness. Great customer service in this place. The people are very attentive to your order. I had the tri-tip plate and the meat was great! It was tender enough to eat with a fork without needing a knife. And the marinade complimented the tri-tip serving as well. The place is clean and well maintained. The place is well lit, nicely decorated and bigger than other Jack's locations we've been to before. The personnel are constantly on the lookout for tables to clear out, or for helping customers. My daughter introduced me to this place. It's been awhile since my last visit to Jack's. Also this review is a take out order. On this visit I decided to order the blackened salmon cobb salad. And I'm so glad I did. The salmon is delicious and goes very well with the salad flavors. You basically get a whole avocado with it. There is a lot going on with the salad but it is delicious! I would definitely order this again. I would say both salads were fantastic. The Korean bbq steak is excellent. So good. Also to note. These salads are very big.
