What a bright, fun, airy space in the Ice Blocks! This place was hopping early in the lunchtime hour. Seemed like a mix between eat-in, to-go and pick-up orders. Fast, friendly service and great food. What more can you ask for? I enjoyed their Baja Green Goddess salad with Impossible chorizo (even though I eat meat) and picked up a vegan banh mi and seasonal BLT for some friends. All were tasty and nicely packed to-go. They close at 10pm, but they start locking up all the chairs outside at 8pm even though the sun sets at 8:30 and it doesn't get dark until nearly 9pm in the summer. Why close the patio 2 hours before the restaurant closes? Also, the tables outside are always filthy, covered in bits of other people's meals. It appears that they never clean them. Also, because it's like a factory inside, there's virtually no customer service (recently, they ran out of forks and, once I could get someone's attention, the woman told me they were out. When I asked how I was supposed to eat the salad I just ordered, she begrudgingly went find the manager who immediately produced two forks). They're all so busy making the bowls that it's hard to get their attention for questions about anything. It's clearly designed to be automated to save money, but there's no personal touch. The food is good, but at least at this location, the staff ignores eye contact in virtually all our visits here.
