When in town visiting the fam, they recommended Sweet Willows for dessert. I'm so glad they did! The workers were so sweet and patient, happily recommending flavors and letting us try some we weren't sure about. Considering we were there close to close (for indoors, the window stays open a bit later), they could have been grumpy but still took good care of us. Make sure to get some tokens for the train because that brought a lot of joy to my kiddos. Flavors - all good, nothing bad, but some solid standouts. -Lavender - delightfully floral without tasting like soap, which can happen with this flavor -Salted caramel - perfectly balanced and so delicious - would get again. -Mango guava sorbet - SO SO GOOD - refreshing and tropical I enjoyed my butter pecan and rum raisin. My son devoured his Chocolate Lover's Peanut Butter and my stepmom and sister got the Midnight Cappuccino Crunch. I'm not big on coffee, but this wasn't bad! We wanted to get some ice cream after Rocky Ridge Park. Because of covid, not a long of places are open. Fortunately this place was for pickup. All the ice cream are all pre packaged into portable paper containers. I got the cappuccino and my wife got the lavender. She really enjoyed her ice cream and even for mine, it had bits of cappuccino bean chunks. It is very frozen so you will have to let it set for a bit before eating. read more

Found this ice cream place on Yelp after eating all you can eat sushi. We were both craving something sweet and this place was close by and had high ratings. So why not check it out. The place prides in self on home made ice cream and you can taste it. Lots of heavy cream was used I their ice cream because it doesn't melt as fast as other ice cream places and when it does melt. Its milk and not water. Daniel loved his Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream so much that he he bought a pint home to take us back to Buffalo, NY. The inside is small but cozy. Enough seats in there to have a few people but not towering over each other. What made this place great was the little train that went around when you put in a quarter. That was awesome and I'll never forget that. When I'm in the area again, I'll make sure to visit there and bring some ice cream back home again. read more

I decided on the Mississippi Moon pie in the unique Snyder's pretzel cone. Having never seen this before, I had to give it a try. I do enjoy the juxtaposition of sweet to salty. Stopped here for ice cream last week with some of my co-workers. The clerk was helpful and friendly. They had many different kinds of ice cream and sorbet available (both standard and unusual flavors). Several of my co-workers tried unusual flavors like lavender and loved it. This place is a cute local ice cream shop right up the street from where I live. I've heard some good things about it so we gave it a try. There are lots of options for cones and cups and the ice cream is delicious, you can tell that it's homemade. My first visit I was happy and willing to come back. I was very intrigued by their challenge sundae that holds 6 scoops of ice cream, a banana and various toppings. So I had a good reason to come back. The second time I was recently there was an experience that will probably, unfortunately, keep me from going back. If you've never been to this shop, I'll tell you that there are two places where you can order. One is inside where there is plenty of space for kids to play and everyone to spread out and enjoy their frozen treat or even sandwich. Then there is an outdoor window for quick pickup. We hadn't been there for quite a while and I was considering going all in and having a sundae, so I went on their website to look around. I found that they have ice cream sundaes on top of a Belgian waffle and because I've never had this I was super excited and rearing to go. We got there, myself already very excited and willing to pay the $9 to get this Belgian waffle sundae, and walked up to the outside window. We wanted to sit outside because it was an absolute perfect evening. We stood at the window to order as the two individuals inside working tended to the line inside, no problem, but continued ignoring us as time went on. A guy and a girl were the workers this night and I made eye contact with the girl a few times as she continued to act as if we weren't there. So we decided that we might possibly get service if we went inside. There was a 5-10 minute wait in line which was completely acceptable on a busy summer night though we were a little upset we didn't get so much of an "excuse me would you mind coming inside to order and pay?" We are not difficult people to please and have all worked in food service so we are very patient when it comes to being served in any way because we understand the difficulties. The other two people in my party ordered and got their ice cream cones as I prepared to give my order. I told the girl what I wanted as she just gave me a blank look like she didn't know which way was up. Then she scrunched up her nose and said "yeaaahhhhh (very drawn out exactly how it is written) that's gonna take at LEAST 10 minutes." And the guy then chimed in, "probably more." So I turned and asked if my party didn't mind waiting. Because I was willing to share and they had never had this delectable waffle treat either. I turned back to the girl now watching me with a disgusted look on her face as she had seen what my cohorts responses were and we were clearly ready to wait 10 minutes for my food she continued to stare at me. Then she said "well.....do you still really want it..." As she looks at the other worker for backup. At this point I don't think I have ever felt like more of an inconvenience in my life. I shortly said no and ordered a one scoop cone. The ice cream was salted caramel, and it was outstanding. But with my one short order she managed to give me a cone with two scoops instead, so clearly she was done serving me. Moral of the story is, if you are okay sticking to what they can immediately have prepared for you, this is the place to be. But god forbid you want to try something that will make them go out of their way, then your service is pretty much down the drain and they are done with you. To make matters worse, the party behind me must have known the girl, so they said hi and she became extremely happy and polite. Not to me of course. But their approach in customer service was very disappointing. I felt like I could order only what they wanted to make me. Let me note that we didn't walk in at their closing time and ask for something that would take 10 extra minutes. They would be open for a further 2 hours on the day I visited. Next time we will probably go to Jim macks or just plain Dairy Queen instead of inconveniencing those who "work" at sweet willows. Tread carefully everyone. read more

VIOLENTLY ILL !!! My husband took my daughter & I there after a day of golfing nearby as a treat for making us suffer through golf. Place smelled kind of funny but we gave it a shot anyway. Customer service seemed very poor, The guy had a fake condecending smile & kind of attitude about him. Seemed to rush us along. Both my daughter & I got violently sick to our stomachs shortly after eating there. My husband did not eat anything there because he is diabetic & he did not get sick. What are the odds of that? After 9 years of loyalty I'm never going back. Complete rip off and terrible customer service from the owner himself. Scammed. Stay closed- this is not the same Sweet Willows I remember. First, I have been a loyal customer and advocate of this place for 9 years. Their ice cream was always good and staff friendly. I was heartbroken when they closed and excited when they re-opened. However, after my last visit I won't be going back. On our last and final visit My family and I all got ice cream, nothing too fancy. The check was $14, seemed a little steep but we had ice cream to eat so focus drawn to the sweet cup of cream in front of me that was melting. After getting home I remembered that $14 seemed a bit much and decided to examine the charge. The cashier has unbeknownst to me, added a $2+ tip. I usually don't tip over 15% for counter service and give change if I have any so this was odd. I emailed through square (the point of sale system) and 5 days later Brent, the owner emailed me back. Instead of apologizing for the oversight he chose to blame me for not checking the receipt sent to my phone. Apparently I should have "checked out" into my phone instead of spending time enjoying ice cream with my family. Normally I wouldn't care so much but the reply blaming me for their error sent me over the edge. Hopefully this isn't a widespread scam with Sweet Willows employees taking money from all customers, but check all your receipts because it's obvious Brent won't stand up for the unsuspecting customers. Sorry Brent, you can keep the $2.16 and propensity to blame your customers for your mistakes, I'll be taking my business to Perrydell from now on and will urge everyone else to do so as well. Here's a customer service tip: next time your employees try to scam a customer and steal money, apologize and don't blame the customer. Here are the transcripts of the emails with Brent.
