I decided to still get a sweet treat and went with the seasonal ice cream honeycomb. It was so creamy and delicious! They had a lot of unique flavors that I can't wait to go back and try. Their cookies and milkshakes look phenomenal. The staff was super friendly and very fast. It's not the cheapest treat place, but for the quality, I think it's totally fair.

The creamery has also done a nice job setting up outside seating for nice weather - I loved the over head lights. Inside there is even more seating, a clean environment, a cute photo op station and a friendly staff. The ice creams were amazing. They had a huge variety of flavors - I ended up with the oreo cheesecake, it was delicious. I even bravely tried the green bean casserole - it was spot on! In addition to scoops, they have some super fun milkshakes and other fun things to try like ice cream sushi. If I'm ever in the area again, Ripleigh's will be a must.

We live in Maine w/family in PA & EVERY trip - Taylor Chip is on the MUST HIT list! We usually go to Lancaster, but made the trip to York to try the creamery and it did NOT disappoint! My dad isn't even a sweets fan, and definitely not a big ice cream fan & he raved about this ice cream! We sampled each others and each got a couple... Blackberry Cookies & Cream and Tart Berry Crumble were both 10/10 rated by my dad & I... Snickerdoodle was a 10/10 for me, 8/10 for my daughter (it's a very strong cinnamon which I LOVED, but was a tad strong for her) she loved her Deepest Darkest Chocolate giving it a 10/10... the cookies were all decadently delicious as always. This is worth the trip! I hope they add the ice cream to more locations and am waiting for them to open one in Maine! Haha

We also picked this place because he know they had ALOT of spacious parking and we had our camper in tow. We pulled all the way our back to park and ventured on in. There was quite a crowd in here on Memorial Day. 2 lines were going and we had a little of a wait. I don't think they make their own ice cream but I could be wrong. I got Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Mint Chocolate Chip...both were delicious. The kids also enjoyed their ice cream as well. This place is supped up with activities to lure in your children so beware. Mini golf, 2 arcades, some kind of basketball game and little quarter kiddie rides galore. There are also remnants of an old deserted petting zoo. I would definitely go here again!

Well visiting and in York, PA, I stopped this past Thursday July 3, 2025, to physically say I checked out the shoe house. The shoe house was build by Mr. Haines back in 1948, to promote the launch of selling his shoes. From other fellow Yelpers, they stop tours 3 years ago. Now the property is an Airbnb, who wouldn't love to say hey let's rent the shoe house. My advice, if your checking out an area, you never been do some research, as too notable sites in the surrounding areas of your location. Fun photo opportunity, though my picture taken by kids by a little blurry in the sunset, still perfect view of the house from the street.

Living in Central PA my whole life, I'd passed the infamous Haines Shoe House on Rt. 30 more times…read morethan I can count--but I never stopped to check it out...until today. On a warm September Sunday morning, it made the perfect low-impact first adventure of the day. A little research ahead of time is key: the Shoe House is no longer open for tours. It's now an Airbnb rental (going for $300-$800+ per night), but the property owner does allow visitors to stop and admire it from outside the gated fence. You can't get super close, but close enough that your phone's zoom works just fine for photos. Parking is inside the gate for renters only, but we lucked out as the only visitors and were able to pull off to the side of the road by the driveway for a quick peek. So--was it the most thrilling thing I've ever seen? No. But it is a house shaped like a shoe--48 feet long, 25 feet high, 17 feet wide--and that alone makes it worth the bragging rights of, "Hey, I saw a giant shoe house today!" Plan for no more than 10 minutes here, since you can't go inside, but it's a fun roadside oddity and a nice addition to a sunny fall adventure. Just be respectful of the owner's request to stay outside the fence--no need to ruin this for anyone else. The Haines Shoe House even has a Historical Marker from the Pennsylvania Museum Commission, recognizing both its quirky place in local history and its unique "Programmatic Architecture." Cool, weird, quick, and very Central PA. Definitely worth a pit stop.
