Very cute interior, loved the decor!! The assortment for pastries is good, lots of mini ones too. The pricing is decent from $2.50-$9 Service is very friendly and quick too. Croissants were just okay not amazingly flaky, but everything looks delicious.

Honestly, a bit disappointed with my overall experience here. I expected something different. I thought you went down the line and ordered your pastries, coffee, quick breakfast items, etc. and then sat yourself. I didn't realize it was full service, sit down. But we adapt. Our waiter Sal, was great. Only waiter on shift, working both the inside and outside. I ordered the French omelette. Very basic. Nothing to ooh and aah over. Came with a simple side salad and toast. Disappointment #1: the toast does not come with butter. If you want butter, you have to pay for it because it is extra special French butter. I would suggest that basic butter be offered with the option to upgrade for a fee. Disappointment #2: no refills on coffee. What. I feel like butter and coffee are two of the cheapest things to provide with a meal, yet made such an impact with me. We were seriously flabbergasted that these things were not provided. Took home a chocolate mousse, mini chocolate croissant and this special French butter. I hoped the mousse would be more authentically French, it was not. The croissant was fine. Salted butter is good. Will I be back? Realistically, probably not. Bonus: Service was good, outdoor patio is nice. I love European seating style. Bogus: still stuck on the no butter and no coffee refills.

Have you ever walked into an establishment and wanted to eat everything? This was my experience at here. They do a beautiful job of displaying their baked goods. Their lighting is warm and inviting. Even better, they have different specials which are displayed on the overhead menu board. They also have a rewards program so make sure to sign up before you go. They have these delicious croutons that they make themselves out of leftover bread and you could taste the freshness of the herbs. They are so delicious. I tried a sample last time I went. I usually park across the street at the Trader Joe's parking structure.

I visited right around when they first opened and fell in love. It's great having such a nice and new restaurant in culver city. The prices are slightly higher than normal, but I think that's just par for the course of living in Los Angeles nowadays. One lovely thing I noticed is that they sell french butter as well. So, if you're looking for some really well made butter at $10.00 each, then you've found your place!

Newly opened, Sweet Wheat is sure to become a neighborhood gem. Modeled as a classic French patisserie, the cafe offers much more than that. There are the pastries and breads, of course, but for those who want something more, there's enough options (soups, sandwiches, pizzas, bowls, etc) to have a satisfying meal. Service is friendly and quick. The vibe is definitely reminiscent of a modern French cafe.

The dining area was beautiful and comfortable to sit and enjoy our lunch. Service is friendly and our server was very patient with us 3 trying to decide what to order! The baked goods are delicious and the sandwiches and the kitchen menu was delicious and fresh.

Ambiance: it's a spacious corner spot bakery and brunch place, large outdoor seating area, and plenty of sofa seats inside, there isn't any clear sign and order, such as chaotic system for ordering and picking up, and their dirty utensils were concerning Service: disorganized and loud noises, hard to hear what the cashiers said, both the customers and staff have to walk through different sections for pastry, sandwiches, other breads, and coffee to place the order, which made it so difficult for multiple customers to place orders at the same time Food & Drink: overwhelming items on their menu, and there's no clear instruction Smoked Salmon Sandwich - ** Avocado Crème Fraîche, Romaine Lettuce, Tomatoes, Atlantic Smoked Salmon, and Chives, missing ingredients and bread was so dry Chicken Pesto Panini - *** NutFree Pesto, Olive Oil, Arugula, Tomatoes, Stracciatella Cheese, NonGMO FreeRange Chicken, and Fresh Basil, average taste Millefeuille Vanille - **** Caramelized Laminated Puff Pastry, French Isigny Butter and Vanilla Custard Cream, crispy and creamy, recommend Raspberry Tart - *** Shortcrust Tartlet, Almond Cream, Tahitian Vanilla Cream, Mixed Berries Jam, and Raspberries, average taste Medium Roast - *** drip coffee Cappuccino - * tasted so watery Price: mediocre taste and overpriced for the quality, expect $25+ per person

Visited this place early before 9 am. Place looked beautiful. Peaceful. Like the perfect place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. Spacious both inside and outside. There is plenty of parking available, I could see it being quite difficult on the weekends though. The place was not too busy but it felt that way because there were only 2 servers. So it took a minute to order. Not a problem, in fact I thought my server was quite nice. But I did feel as if she felt the pressure of the line building up, I too felt a bit rushed. This only sucks cause as a first timer and with so much to choose from, I like to ask for recommendations. Ordered a Wagyu Short Ribs Cheese Panini and a Parisian Sandwich. Both of which I felt lacked a lot of taste and texture. The chew of the bread was tough, lacked salt and was missing that aroma I love . I ordered my sandwiches hot and to go. I only traveled a couple of miles by car and when I got home my sanwiches were already cold. Didn't even look like they had been toasted. I must admit that the only thing I liked about my Parisian sandwich was the butter spread. Ordered a few pastries. A few apple turnovers, croissants, and a couple of brioche donuts filled with vanilla custard. The apple turnovers have nice flaky texture but it's butter aftertaste was a bit overwhelming. I love butter but this was not a great taste. The apple filling could have been just a little sweeter. Same with the custard, I could hardly taste the sweetness or vanilla. The donut was a bit dry. I also ordered a vanilla latte. It was ok. Not great. The coffee was hardly hot and didn't not taste like much. I'm sorry. I was so excited for this place, but after eating the turnover and half of my sandwich, all I can taste is butter. I wish it would have been better.

Apparently, there is another sweet wheat somewhere else, but this is the first time I've been to this one. It's a pretty big spot where they make a ton of different pastries. I got the pain au chocolate. It was flaky and delcious. They are transparent with their gluten advertisement incase anyone is curious but they won't say gluten free but low gluten. The service was good and the ambiance was clean and updated the burger chain it used to be. I hope this place succeed since it is on the side of downtown Culver City where there isn't a lot of traffic

The interior was clean, spacious, and aesthetic with beautiful pastries. Unfortunately, they were overpriced and disappointing given the lack of quality and flavor. Service could have been faster, but understandably it was the first day of opening. The servers would go back and forth from the back fridge and then back to me each time I pointed to an item which took a lot of time. They were also taking quite a while to ring up my pastries at the cashier, but I did appreciate their friendliness and welcoming deals. They had buy 3 get 2 pastries (for cakes only) and buy 3 get 1 pastry deals on select items. I found it interesting that the promos differed depending on the product: baguettes, croissants, cakes, or pastries. With a large variety of items from breakfast to bowls, sandwiches, soups, and coffee, it seems to be a great cafe and lunch spot. Sadly the pastries were disappointing. For $6.25-$7.90, the price point was definitely high. Some items I tried: - caramelized apple 3" $7.50 3/5 Lots of sour apples and the bottom pastry crust was more like soaked dough, not flaky or buttery. - flan $7.90 2/5 This one was powdery. It was creamy, but not really cheesy or sweet and just tasted like powdered milk. - morello cherries clafoutis $6.25 1/5 Sour, tart cherries with chewy dough texture that tasted undercooked. - apricot raisen orange blossom cake $6.25 2/5 Same undercooked chewy dough texture and couldn't really taste the different flavors besides raisins. - salted caramel apple cake $6.25 2/5 Same undercooked banana-bread dough texture with bland cooked apples and super sweet caramel. - mini almond croissant (free for opening week) 4/5 this one was probably the best; flaky, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, and had a sweet almond paste in the center. So sad the pastries I tried were not good and so expensive :(

Located in downtown Culver City, this new french shop has replaced the previous shake shack and they are definitely shaking things up with their fresh brunch menu. You can smell their smoked salmon when you walk by and their selection of desserts and pastries will make your mouth water. The service was great, quick, and attentive with outdoor seating for those wanting to soak in the sun. I will definitely be back to taste more of their pastries next time! order: smoked salmon sandwich, quiche, fresh orange juice Comments: A spot for people dining outside to put their plates if they don't have the trays anymore. Currently there is only an outdoor rack to put your trays on.

This is a new location that opened in downtown Culver not too long ago. I was excited to try it, and it did not disappoint! Walking in felt heavenly because all around me were beautiful and delicious looking pastries, sandwiches, and other French offerings that my hungry belly and heart wanted to try. I wanted one of each, but I had to show a bit of restraint for the sake of my bank account and my waist. They currently have a special deal for pastries: buy 3 pastries, get one free. I chose the mix berry tartlet, lemon meringue tartlet, chocolate mousse, and raspberry macron. Everything was delicious. My only critique would be for the mixed berry tartlet. I could use a bit more cream in the middle under the berries. The bread/tart crust is a bit thick, so the ratio of cream and bread was a bit off. It is also because the cream is so delicious, I really wanted more. The lemon meringue is a bit more on the tart side than sweet, but I prefer it that way. I don't like my desserts to be excessively sweet. The raspberry macron was delicious. It also has cream in the middle with fresh raspberries that made it feel like I was on a French vacation instead of my lunch break. I also ordered an iced chai latte, and it was also delicious. It felt like I was getting a hug from the inside of my belly. When I visited, it was busy because it was lunch time, so navigating the line was a bit difficult because several servers are helping several patrons at once, so it may be a bit difficult to keep track of your server as you move forward in the line. People like to take their time looking at the offerings so the line gets congested. I don't blame the customers who take a bit longer to decide on their orders at all. I took a bit long too because it was all so delicious looking! There was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors even during the lunch rush.

Downtown Culver City just had a face lift with the opening of Sweet Wheat (amongst all the amazing restaurants that opened in the area). They have a wide variety of amazing pastries and desserts. It's truly a great addition in the city. Their service is great too. Their staff are very accommodating. Lots of tables and chair outdoors which gives a nice vibe!

There is a full-service restaurant and bar perfect for grabbing a pint and a meal, and a dedicated bakery on the right side where you can pick up empanadas and sweets. During my recent visit to the bakery, I ordered three empanadas and a Beef Milanesa sandwich. It had been a few years since I'd had a Milanesa, and this version was quite solid -- it's essentially what would happen if a chicken fried steak and a chicken cutlet had a baby. The Beef Milanesa ($19.25), it features a breaded, very thin eye of the round beef. Since this is a bakery, the French Baguette is front and center, offering a great bite. It's pretty simple with the tomato, lettuce and mustard. While I would definitely eat it again, it isn't necessarily a destination sandwich I'd drive across town for, but it's a very satisfying choice. For the side, I went with the staff member's recommendation of French Fries over the salad. It was the right move; the shoestring fries were perfectly seasoned, hitting that ideal balance of crispy and soft. Spinach Artichoke: A flavorful blend of extra virgin olive oil, whole milk mozzarella, spinach, artichoke hearts, and caramelized onions. Spicy Beef: Made with halal beef, sweet onions, and a kick from three different types of chilies. Chicken Mushroom: Features halal chicken thigh (ground in-house by hand) with roasted mushrooms and fresh herbs. The empanadas ($3.50 each) were excellent and truly the primary reason to visit. The Spinach Artichoke and Spicy Beef were my personal favorites. I'll definitely be back soon to work my way through the rest of the empanada menu. With so many hipster restaurants popping up in the area, don't overlook this local gem. Whether you're in for the bakery treats or a hearty sandwich, you won't be disappointed.
