Sweet Trolley - Toronto. It didn't look nice but I gave it a try. I entered and there's a chemical smell in the place. The cinnamon roll is not good either. On the contrary, the lady there is nice. I'm only giving one star because of the smell, it make the overall experience unpleasant.

I was walking along Dundas west to look for brunch and found this dated looking bakery with its display window filled with baked goods. I was curious and went inside and felt like I had traveled back in time with all the original decor still present from the 70s. The bakery has been open for over 40 years. They are known for the cinnamon buns which you can get 6 and get one free. I opted for a pumpkin scone, strawberry rhubarb pie and the last pumpkin pie. Everything was very fresh and just freshly baked that morning. The pumpkin scone didn't have a strong pumpkin flavour to it but it wasn't too dry and just the right amount of sweetness. The strawberry rhubarb pie was a bit sweet but a surprising kick of cinnamon with every bite. The crust was still crispy the next day and coated with the perfect amount of sugar. I brought the pumpkin pie as a hostess gift and it was a huge hit. Nice and soft filling with the perfect homemade crust that fed all 6 of us. I'm not sure if they used pureed pumpkins from a can or fresh pumpkins but it still tasted amazing. They also have the option of making things eggless if you put in a request ahead of time! Would definitely go back for more as the customer service was great and the baked goods delicious and not over- priced.

Probably the best peach pie I've ever had

Please, go here instead of hippy, overpriced Bunners next door. This is an old family-owned bakery, the people are lovely, and the desserts are delicious. The woman who served us (my friend goes here regularly and says she's usually there and is always lovely) was so friendly and warm. I think her name is Helen. After seeing I couldn't decide between the mini peach pie and the brownie, she said she was going to do something special for me and she gave me the brownie free. The peach pie was absolutely effing DELICIOUS. Real peaches, just the perfect amount of sweetness, and it was still warm when we dug in.

I've been spending more and more time in the junction, and every day I Pass by this bakery tempted by the smells coming from inside and the signs in the window declaring "best cinnamon bun in Toronto." Well today I gave into temptation and ventured in overwhelmed by the cinnamon smells wafting into the street. It was here I met Helen, the friendliest sweetest (no pun intended) baker ever! She gave me the run down on the bakery, what they offer and even complimented me on my smile (flattery will TOTALLY get you anywhere). I asked for a cinnamon bun and she proudly served it up warmed up in the microwave and offered me a glass of water while I enjoyed it standing in the doorway. Now I love Cinnabon but this place wipes the floor with their buns and then some. The sign is right. Greatest cinnamon buns in Toronto (and maybe that I've ever eaten). Why is that? Probably because it's made with a 100 year old family recipe passed down to generations. Excellent!! Buttery, cinnamon filled, moist, fall apart and surprisingly light once you're finished! You should come in and buy one (or many if you plan on joining their cinnamon bun club - buy 6 get 1 free) Eatcrest Out

Far from being ultra-modern, this place oozes with vintage bakery charm. From the old-fashioned cash register, to the windows that look like they haven't been changed in decades, this place is old-school through and through. The service? Outstanding, helpful and friendly. The baked goods? Very good. The prices? Excellent! (translation: cheap!) I bought a strawberry & blueberry loaf, a 'famous' cinnamon bun, a butter croissant and an apple danish. The lovely lady even threw in a date square "just because." I just may be going back again soon!

The best Cinnamon buns I have ever had. Mamma Anna and Helen super friendly. Was walking by today and the baked goods in the window had me stop in my tracks. Do yourself a favour, go to this bakery

This is an adorable bake shop that smells heavenly when you walk in. I purchased a cinnamon roll which they make all day and apparently they sell out pretty quickly - the gentleman right before me bought nine for a party! For 3.75 it was a very large cinnamon bun and very doughy - the best kind of bun. The glaze was a simple royal icing which was a bit too much for me but if you like sweet, this is the place to go. They were generously cinnamon-y as well, which I liked. My favourite part of the store was the people - they were so kind and friendly, and engaged with every single customer that came through while I was there.

Their cinnamon buns are just the BEST! So much better than Cinnabon! I love walking through Dundas St W and going inside this awesome bakeshop. Helen is so amazing. She makes me feel like home everytime and with her and the other great bakers, you can taste that everything is made with love! I got cinnamon bun, rum carrot cake, strawberry rhubarb pie, etc ~ everything is worth the penny!

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
