We usually get plain ones and it goes for about $8...I knew what I asked for looks pretty nice with toppings...but I still feel $14 is kind of pricey for this. However, pricing aside, the egg waffle was prepared fresh upon order. You can choose the waffle flavor, and then go with 1 of many topping themes. We chose the Chocolate Lover with Vanilla waffle flavor. This looked amazing and the tastes and quality matched it. It quickly made us forget the price! The staff up front were friendly. Only downside was it took like 15 minutes to get your egg waffle (was told up front at least). Ambiance is the food court of South Shore Plaza. Sweet Sip is a boba spot in the back of the South Shore Mall food court that serves teas, lemonades, and desserts. The menu is versatile and there are many unique flavors to try. They have specialty butterfly pea tea drinks and the prices are reasonable for the quantity/quality. The teas came out pretty quickly when we ordered and the line move pretty quickly too. There's plenty of space to sit in the food court as well. I tried the butterfly lemonade which was really sweet in a good way. I couldn't really distinguish the butterfly pea flavor in the drink but it was tasty. I'd recommend trying it at least once if you're looking for a refreshing drink at the mall. read more

Sweet Sip is a solid boba spot in the corner of the South Shore Plaza Food Court! I've only had drinks at Sweet Sip so I can't speak about their desserts, but there are macarons and perhaps some other sweets available. There is a large variety of drinks you can get here, ranging from the classic milk tea to their more unique specialties -- the butterfly tea drinks and the mangonada. So far, I've tried the Tropical Mango Lemonade, Mango Kiwi Lemonade (both butterfly tea drinks), and Mango Pineapple Smoothie. Something I like about Sweet Sip is that you can choose what fruits you want in your smoothie! I think it's up to two fruits you can choose for your smoothie which was pretty cool. However, I didn't like that the large cup I got for my Mango Pineapple smoothie made me feel like I was getting skimped out of the amount of my drink. It was quite tall, but not wide. It didn't look like the large cup they had on display. The drink itself was really good though, you could taste the freshness of the fruits and it wasn't too sweet, so no complaints about the taste. Their butterfly tea drinks are pretty tasty as well, but not something I'd go out of my way to get. It comes with jelly/toppings included in the drink which I like, but to me, it can either be a toss-up of whether the drink is a bit on the bitter end because of the tea, or too sweet because of the syrup from the toppings. The butterfly tea drinks are aesthetically pleasing, but not a go-to drink for me. The service is pretty quick with no frills. Overall, Sweet Sip is a bit pricy for boba or a smoothie, but super convenient if you're in the mall looking for a quick tasty treat. read more

Ever since Sweet Sip opened in the food court at South Shore Plaza, I always crave a sweet drink whenever I'm shopping there. My favorite drink would be the taro coconut smoothie. Sometimes I switch it up and order the mangonada that comes as a mango smoothie with tamarind sauce and fresh pieces of fruits, I usually get this in the summer since it's refreshing. I've tried their lemonade butterfly tea drinks, but it's not to my liking, I would rather get regular milk tea or a smoothie. Got the peachy lychee from Sweet Sip and it was so good! I got it half sweet and it was just perfect for my palette. Love that there's real fruit in the drink that you can eat after it's done! Stopped by on a Sunday right before the mall closed. Walked around the mall a bit to try to find this place until we realized it was in the food court...duh. For drinks we ordered the Thai green tea with crystal boba and avocado smoothie. For food we ordered the pandan egg waffle with mochi inside. Both drinks we delicious. I actually liked the avocado smoothie better, it was very fresh and hit the spot on the hot summer day. Unfortunately they ran out of golden boba but I'll give them a pass since it was the end of the day. The pandan waffle was my favorite! My sister ordered the B4 Strawberry Lemonade Butterfly Tea and claimed that it was too sour and undrinkable after 1 sip. After a couple more sips to give it a chance, it was still too unbearably sour. She had shook it well and even flipped it upside down for a few times before drinking it. When we went back to explain about our unsatisfactory, they would not allow us any refunds or exchanges. Since they did not allow either, we gave back the drink. Very nice addition to the food court at the South Shore mall. The thing that drew me over to this place was the dessert case that I noticed as I was waiting for my order over at the Popeye's right next door to this Sweet Sip location. I went over to take a peek and there was a very delicious looking slice of pistachio cake that jumped out at me so I decided I'd save room for dessert and go back and get some when I was done eating. I am so glad that I did! The pistachio cake was so sweet and moist and it had actual nuts on it which I love. The lady behind the counter offered me some whipped cream on the side so I definitely took her up on that. I haven't enjoyed a dessert that good in a long time. Service was pretty quick and very efficient as well. If you're not up for dessert they do serve various beverages, flavored teas, milk teas and smoothies as well here. I am not a tea drinker so when I go there next I will definitely stick to the desserts. I also did see some French macarons in the case as well as a very nice looking Oreo cake which I may try on my next trip there. I was very pleased to see this place new to the food court especially since this particular food court does not have much in the way of desserts. I know for sure I will be back! read more

I stopped by Sweet Sip after a long day of shopping at the mall. I was craving a nice refreshing drink before going back home. One of the owners was there and he was super nice and helpful. There were a lot of choices on the menu and since it was my first time there, I wasn't sure what to get. He gave me recommendations on the drinks and food. All of the desserts looked amazing but I was taking it to go, so just settled for a matcha egg puff waffle which was delicious. I also ordered the rose lychee butterfly specialty drink which was just what I needed. Seems to be a pretty popular place even though they just opened a few days ago. I'm so happy that there's an Asian dessert place at the mall! I tried the rose milk tea and Purple Island. The rose milk tea tasted more like regular milk tea because there was less of the floral taste to it. Overall, it was still good though. The boba was fresh, soft, and chewy. I had to wait around 15 minutes for the Purple Island on a slow Sunday morning, but I felt that it was worth it for the wait and the $11 I paid. The Purple Island consists of egg puffs with ice cream, whipped cream, condensed milk, fresh mangoes, coconut flakes, and mochi on top. When the cashier asked if I wanted mochi on it, I assumed she meant the mochi on top which was already included so I said yes. I realized after that she was asking if I wanted mochi inside the egg puff. I'm so glad I said yes though because it definitely upgraded the egg puffs. I loved the soft yet slightly chewy texture inside. Instead of vanilla ice cream, she put ube ice cream on top and that also elevated the dessert. Anyways, since it was their opening, I decided to just try the next item rather than making a fuss. Same story, the drink was too sweet like you drank syrup! Funny how 3/4 of the cup is full of ice even after the drink is finished and yet, that's still sweet. Maybe if you're a super sweet tooth, it might kinda be ok but nothing more than mediocre. Not sure if they're just trying to cut costs with this type of lack in flavor/ingredients & quality for those items at least OR is it just indeed how those items are.
