We were looking for some food souvenirs to purchase as gifts and came across the Sweet Shoppe Candy Store. This is a candy shop that's small in size but bursting with a ton of different confections from all over the country. They have the Goo Goo Clusters from Nashville, Moose Munch from Medford, Hammonds from Denver, Claeys from South Bend, etc. It's certainly an eclectic selection, well appreciated for variety, but we were looking for locally made items that could keep well in the Arizona heat. We ended up purchasing some prickly pear cactus candy and their in house made mountain bark. Mountain Bark ($5.25 per square) - This is essentially an improved rice crispy treat crossed with fudge. There are tons of crispy popped rice bits interspersed with soft gooey marshmallows, some chewier melted white chocolate bits, and plenty of peanut butter flavor. It's a denser cake vs. a light and fluffy rice crispy treat, but is, dare I say, more delicious. (4/5) With such a wide variety of delicious treats, Sweet Shoppe Candy Store is definitely a great place to pick up some candy. read more

Walk out of downtown and into this great joint with a vintage feel and great people! Make your way to the back for what I have found the be the best ice cream in the area so far. I sampled a bunch of choices and they all rocked so just asked the worker to scoop me her favorite. She gave me Bananas Foster, peanut butter chocolate chip, and triple chocolate fudge. Luxuriously creamy and a combination of flavors that was harmonious. Highly recommend! read more

Delicious sweets here. Lots of people in line for gelato! Looked like 20 or so flavors. I was totally interested in the homemade fudge. I saw mint I saw orea cookie and a few delicious looking other choices. I went for a chunk of mint and a chunk of Oreo. Loved them. I also got a mint bark that tasted amazing. And I got a peanut butter chocolate bark too. The peanut butter one was so good. They also had tiger butter fudge which I used to love as a little girl. I don't know what they call it now but I spotted it in the bottom row of the fudge. They had macaroons too which looked homemade and looked delicious. They had some lemon I think. I'll go back and try few other sweets! read more

Dropped in while walking around Flag this beautiful weekend. The store has a vast selection of chocolates, candies and other goodies. Grabbed a bag of different chocolates. Raspberry and Maple Creams, marshmallow and some carmels. Biting into the maple was awful. Hard, dry and no taste. TThe others were just ok. Would not be running back anytime soon to satisfy my sweet craving. read more

This place is the ideal sweet shop- colorful decor, delightful displays, a tower with all the sour candy you could dream of, and a refrigerator full of weird drinks, such as "dirt soda" (I am unfortunately not bold enough to try the dirt soda). We got some truffles, fudge, and chocolate covered cherries and they were all incredible! The cashiers were friendly and made helpful recommendations, and really made our visit pleasant. read more

Great place to get an after dinner gelato on a hot evening. Employees are pleasant and helpful when ordering. This was our first visit and had questions about some of their uniquely named flavors. They helped us choose a couple of fun flavors. Prices are what you'd expect in a captive area like a small downtown area like in Flagstaff. Lots of choices of different candies, baked treats and more, too. We would return when in the area. read more

I came in here not expecting to get anything, but just to look around. However, I ended up getting cactus candy and cactus pear sorbet. I read an article that cactus is used in different types of foods and drinks in Arizona. I tried one of the cactus candies, and it had the texture of a gummy and tasted very sweet. I also tried their sorbet and ate the cactus pear sorbet. It tasted like a pear with a little kick to it. I'm glad I was able to try the cactus assortments here as I haven't seen this in many spots. read more

Visiting for the first time in Flagstaff. Walked in thought it was a cute candy store. My kids and I picked out some chocolate. About less than half a bag, 2 doggie treats and a magnet. We were all shocked that it totaled to 60.xx. There's no prices on the chocolate or treats. Will never buy again. Very overpriced! read more

We stopped in for a treat and discovered their "ice cream" was all sorbet! Our favorite. (My partner is dairy intolerant) I had the Tira Misu and Cappuccino and my partner had the double chocolate and vanilla. All flavors were outstanding. They really pack the stuff in to the cups. Stumbled upon this really cool sweet shop in Flagstaff. We knew it was going to be good because the line was out the door. They sell homemade chocolates, gelato, and macarons. We went with a few different types of truffles, s'mores sticks, and chocolate covered twix bars. Everything was amazing and the service was excellent. Prices were fair overall for such goodness. After strolling though town, we were passing by a window with a beautiful display of caramel apples. The double take and stop to stare game was real. Although it was a little early in the day, I convinced myself I would pick one up before heading out of town. With a slight open of the door and a huge whiff of sugar (it is honestly to over powering to me), I made my way inside. After browsing around, I stayed committed to what brought me inside. I left with a cut caramel apple for the road. Honestly very easy to eat in the car without making a mess. Most importantly, it hit the spot. The only thing better than the treats was the customer service! Neat little shop, lots of goodies and right in the heart of Flagstaff.

We stopped here on our way back from Utah. The shop has a lot of chocolates and candies that are home made. We stopped for the gelato and it didn't disappoint. I ended up getting an eclair flavor and we also got rocky road. I personally loved the eclair flavor. It was grainy and I liked the texture. The rocky road was missing the signature marshmallow yet it did have a couple of peanuts. Both flavors were satisfying and the cups were cute as well. read more

What I love about the Sweet Shoppe is the variety. You'll find something to satisfy every sweet tooth! Staff is always super friendly. The "Boo" boxes can be customized to sweeten anyone's Halloween. One of our faves are the apples! They have your basics, but they also have festive ones around the various holidays which makes them even more enjoyable. The apples are always crisp and juicy! Owner took my google review down so am posting it here. This was our go-to gelato & dessert spot for a while. However, after yesterday we can't bring ourselves to go back. We had stopped in and ordered the banana foster gelato & a couple slices of fudge. Halfway through eating the gelato, my pregnant wife pulled a sharp piece of plastic from her mouth. Thank god she didn't swallow it. Not sure how these things happen but hope they are more cautious in their preparations. read more

When we're in Flagstaff we always stop here to get their fancy dog treats. Our doggo loves them. They also have water for your dog too. We also like to get treats for ourselves. My favorite is the caramel peanut butter covered in milk chocolate. My brother loved the Irish Cream truffle, and my mom loved the Black Forest truffle. I heard about the Sweet Shoppe Candy Store a few years ago and have wanted to come ever since. The family took a quick spur of the moment trip to Flagstaff and I knew this was my time to go! It's located in downtown and we found a parking spot and walked to the candy store The big sign is hard to miss and when you walk up you are greeted with a wall of delicious looking Carmel apples. So many different flavors. There is so many cute things to buy. 2 giant cases of chocolates, gelato and what seemed like a million different types of fudge. We were offered samples of fudge and decided on an M&M fudge and a salted Carmel chocolate fudge. We also got a few different chocolates. We were excited for the fudge but it didn't taste like it was made that day. Kind of crumbly but still had good flavor. We really liked the chocolates that we got. Everything about them was perfect and I would definitely get model next time we come back but might pass on the fudge. We are definitely looking forward to getting a candy apple next time as well. I stopped in here on my way back to the valley because I saw they had caramel apples and I wanted to get one for my mom. I ended up leaving with 2 apples, 1/4lb of fudge, a handful of different singular chocolates, AND cotton candy lol. Glorious! When we opened to door we were greeted with the sweet smell of peppermint fudge being made. Yum! My eyes didn't know where to look first; the candy apples I. The window, the gelato is the back or the greats I'm the case. I decided to try their salted caramel squares, peanut butter cups as well as some sprinkle marshmallows for my niece. Everything was delicious and it was gone before we made it to the hotel ha ha. So worth the stop if you're hanging out downtown. read more
