We had a problem with our septic system. Our house is just 2 years old, it seems too soon to have septic issues. For the last week the toilets sounded funny and echoed in the sinks when they were flushed. Today the waste water started coming up in the shower. I read reviews here and called Sweet Septic in Placerville. I spoke to Annette, and she was amazing. After listening to our symptoms she recommended we open the tank and clean the filter in the secondary tank. We didn't know there was a filter, or that we should clean it yearly. We cleaned the filter, which didn't fix our problem. We opened the primary tank and found the pipe coming into the tank has a tee on the end, and it was blocked with solids. Using a long pole we were able to push the clog through the tee and the pipes started draining. We were also able to stir the upper level solids into the mix. I called Annette back to see about getting the tank pumped since we had it open. After listening to the description of the contents in the tank she explained we were fine and no need to pump. She could have easily told me I needed pumping and charged me for an emergency pump. Instead she clearly explained the system and how we should move forward closing it back up. Today we learned about the filter in the septic tank and found out we should not have both the concrete lids and the plastic lids on the system. I am thoroughly impressed with their service. When we do need to pump out our septic we will call Sweet Septic!! read more

Absolutely the most rude people answer the phone. Annette and the other "employee" who answer the phone are simply awful. I will make sure to tell everyone I know to take their business elsewhere. Never owned a septic system before and wasn't quite sure what to do when "stinky water" started leaking out of a pipe in our yard. Sweet Septic came out and showed us how our system works and explained that one area of our leech field is not working. (That's a whole other story.). It also turned out that our tanks haven't been pumped out since 2018. (Thanks previous owners who said they had. :-( ). If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Spoke to a lady and was seeking guidance on a new property we took over regarding the septic tank. She acknowledged they were the company that last serviced the tank but offered no assistance. She was rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. Absolutely ZERO customer service! She made comments like "I'm not going to do your job" "We don't have time to go all over the county checking tanks." I had no problem paying for the service to have a diagnostic completed. We called Sweet Septic to check out our septic tank, which was leaking water from the lid. We choose them due to great reviews from others on a local neighborhood app. Brandon was the tech who came out and he was outstanding. He examined everything, told us what he was going to do, along with giving us a refresher course in how our septic system should be operating. He did find a possible issue with our leach line, and gave us the contact info for several contractors who deal with that. My husband and I both called because this was the company who pumped our septic tank when we bought our house during the inspection period. Excellent! We had a problem and were fairly certain, it was a septic problem. In the afternoon, we called Sweet Septic and spoke with Ann. She explained we needed to have the tank lids uncovered, and once uncovered, Sweet Septic should be able to pump the septic within a day, or two. We had the tank lids uncovered by the next morning and Sweet Septic completed the job a few hours later. The driver was knowledgeable, polite, professional, and friendly. Most importantly, the truck driver/tank slurper guy was very conscious of all our plants and curbing as he backed in and then laid out the hoses to pump the tank. It wasn't an emergency with a backup in the house, but an issue outside. I contacted Sweet Septic and got a call back in 20 minutes. Even though they did have other more urgent emergencies, they fit me in that day. There was communication during the day about timing, Mike called and let me know 20 minutes before arriving he was on his way and arrived as planned. He spent a significant amount of time fixing my problem which should have been addressed (my fault) years earlier and charged a more than fair price (I was expecting more), but the service was stellar and communication excellent! This is BS!! Had these guys come out to pump my tanks. I pulled the lid off the solid side and it an 18in thick baby wipe mass underneath was liquid and the pump and effluent sides were liquid Im aware baby wipes are a no no. What's done is done. I was quoted $640 (from the normal price of 8 somethin) for two 1000 gal tanks. The guy who came argued they were 1200 gal tanks. I showed him the plans, receipts etc. Still would not budge. Because of the mass I was then charged an extra 250 to use this worthless jet pump that was to increase my water pressure and use my water and charge me more to fill my tanks again with MY Water WTF ( MIND YOU I get 30 gallons a minute. THAT IS ALOT OFF A WELL. ) a little tiny spray nozzle was used to try and break it up. Anyways I'm rambling!! I get up yesterday morning that tank is full again!! There is now way he pumped out 2500 gallons out of the tanks. I broke the mass up in an hour with a GAF HOOK lol I specifically asked for the tanks to be emptied NO matter the cost!! FOR FN $870 dollars there should be nothing left in either tank What a scam...I got hussled bad!! I am putting in my new pump today my self. And,cleaning out the wipes. It was friday...I saw no motivation to get the job done no matter what. I'm highly dissappointed and they came recommended. Bummer. read more

I am a long-time local, and knew of Bud Sweet's reputation. Unfortunately he has sold his business to a rude and disreputable couple. They stated one price, then pulled a bait-and-switch after opening the septic tank and increased the fee for pumping by 40%. When I called the office to straighten it out, the owner's wife called me a liar and threatened to pull the service person out- holding us hostage to an open and dangerous septic tank!!! The secretary at this place is a nightmare. They came and cleaned out our commercial grade residential tanks and related that the tanks were in perfect condition. The house is only 8 years old. These were commercial grade tanks. The following day, the alarms began to go off indicating an issue. We called them immediately and they came back out reset the alarm and said, "sorry we can't help you, plus we are to busy". Really? You work on the tanks say they are in perfect condition and now there is an issue. The secretary was rude and unprofessional. Another company has come out and both tanks need replacing. I have no doubt this company damaged these tanks. Be aware if you hire this company. read more

We were having a backup problem with our septic system and knew it had been a while since we had it pumped. I called Sweet Septic, as we had used them the last time we needed our septic to be pumped, on Sat. late afternoon and left a msg for Mike. He called back right away and told me he could come Monday morning. He arrived right on time with his assistant. They were both professional and kind and got the job done within 45 minutes. We had a LOT of toilet paper from lots of girls in the house! He gave good suggestions. Do not use flushable wipes even though they say they are septic safe! He also suggested a good enzyme breakdown solution we can add once a year (which I can do) instead of Ritz once a month which we were not doing anyway. I called this business today because the previous owner used them to have their septic cleaned out. I needed to know the location of the septic for landscaping purposes but the woman wouldn't send me or text me the diagram that she had for its location. I have never had to have my Septic tank pumped before. It seemed a little pricey. The guy did have to dig the lid up though. As a landscaper for 25 years I have had to dig up my fair share of things I weren't sure the location of. The guy that came out knew exactly what he was doing as far as finding the lid. I didn't stick around for the actual pumping because I will puke and dry heave for an hour. Worth the money to have someone knowledgable in their feild. Good work! read more

Lazy AND Rude! Scheduled service. Gave office three contact numbers in case of any issues. Tech came out, saw some roots at solid side so did very minimal pumping and completely left liquid side without even opening the hatch. Cannot believe he wouldn't take 2 minutes to call to let me know he couldn't do a complete job! I can't give Sweet's a high enough rating. We discovered that our septic tank had thrown up (as disgusting as it sounds), and we had just a vague idea as to the location of the lids. Just by chance, they were the first people I called. It was amazing. They had serviced the tanks before we bought the house and had the tank location on record. I should probably throw in a word of caution... don't wait 15 years to have a septic tank emptied or inspected. Anyway, it was Saturday afternoon, the owner of the company actually came out, helped dig up the lids, and completely cleaned the system.
