Where do I begin? We are huge fans of At Home by Willowbrook. However, this place is a more upscale…read moreversion of that. Selection is smaller, but the goods are nicer. Think of anything you could for your home, and you will find some version of it here. The selection is immense, ranging from furniture to decor to kitchenware. We left with some great faux plants, an artificial tree, some amazing Serta pillows, etc. Some great items for sure! Staff were helpful and kind, and the store is kept very tidy. Some major deals can be found here! Prices were excellent! We will be back!

The emphasis here is on made in India and China furniture and furnishings -- with a decent selection of kitchenware and gadgets. No clothes, jewelry, shoes or fancy foodstuffs in this iteration of the ever evolving chain of stores owned by TJX. Homesense improves on the chaotic and frenetic merchandising practices of its relatives. In other words -- you will find the aisles logically organized with more limited and better curated selections. If you are looking for that odd off price piece -- like a sofa, chair, table, love seat, carpet or new china, this place is worth a look. As with all the other TJX retail stores, you are buying "off the floor" which means that the stuff has been sat in, handled, returned, jostled about, dinged, etc. -- so inspect carefully before buying -- especially with the higher priced furniture and carpets. Top Tip: Shares a parking lot with Trader Joe's -- which means PACKED on Saturdays. Best shopping experience is early or late -- midweek.

In short, it felt like a mix of HomeSense, HomeGoods, and Michaels -- but on a much larger scale. Right at the entrance, there were seasonal items (Easter stuff everywhere around this time), followed by gardening and porch/patio décor, and it just kept going. Every aisle was a wow moment. We went in for a few basic décor items, maybe $10-$20 worth, and ended up spending over $300 on canvases, paintings, kitchen items, and more. I couldn't believe it! This location is an absolute mess. There's a rare situation when I'm in the area for work, realize I forgot something and have to pop in. 'Popping in' means spending around an hour, since there are a ton of shoppers here and they keep ONE register open. Not great Hobby Lobby. Will avoid at all costs unless it's a dire situation.

Called on the phone ( Thursday, 7 May, 2020) to make sure there were open before arriving. Once I arrived at the store, the door was locked. A sales lady was inside, she act as if I wasn't there. Finally I got her attention, she walked to the door. I was trying to asked if they were open. Again, she act as if you couldn't hear me. Once she unlocked the door and guarded it like it was Fort Knox, I asked again if they were open... she said no, no, no and closed and locked the door abruptly and walked away. I can only hope she is not a ambassador of the people of Paterson. Please, please advise this individual on how to be professional and courteous at their job. We couldn't find exactly what we wanted, but with the options available at the store we were able to create a concept we got excited about. I also noticed that everyone (ok, most) working at the store was personable, smart and happy. Worth a visit for home improvement needs. Something worth noting: when leaving your name for pickup, know that the person on the order would need to have their ID or listed number to pick up. You can't just send a random person without notice.
